I just want to help dimecoin succeed.

I have my code on a fork of the github repo, though I haven't been able to compile it to test:
https://github.com/Melech/dimecoin

It's just a copy of quark 0.9.2.1 that I tried to merge with dimecoin 1.5(quark 0.8.3).  I haven't added anything new.

so all you did was replace everything with dime coin and dime or  were you successful in implementing the algorithm
dime coin living is all i ask for i have put money and other's money and time into the back end of the coin the only thing holding up the plans are the wallets once we get that out of the way all the other projects will come to the light will upgrading affect the android wallets at all?

i'm planning on implementing a very low inflation rate as well 0.2 should be right anything around one hundred million or lower a year after all our coins have been mined  if you could please add on if not i will  just takes a bit more time obviously  also i see you put
*set BitcoinUnits::maxAmount == 100,000,000,000 DIME

there should not be any limit on how many you can send even though in a year or two you wont see people sending billions to each other naturally as the value rises

What do you mean by implementing an inflation rate?  a PoS system?

For what it's worth... it will be many years before all the coins are mined.  If 200bil were mined the first year, and it halves each year... 200b, 100b, 50b, 25b, 12b, 6b, 3b, 2b, 1b... that's 8 more years before mining rate drops below 1 billion per year.

I'm not certain the point of having a maxAmount, but I copied it from quark.  Quark had it set to 210mil, which is definitely too low for dime.  I believe this is supposed to keep a single transaction from being too large in size.

Ignore him, he's a nutter, the guy that has cliamed to be making 10 features a month for six months but not a single one materialised.

He's a scammer, probably a liar and certainly incompetent without any ability to even make a simple change.

He also has connections to the old scam developer. So work out whether to trust anything from his maggot infested mouth.

I still dont understand .. why is there active development going on.
The coin is dead right?
Dimecoin is alive,  good Mh/s on pools and some trade on crypsty, take a look https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/DIME_LTC
Sometime he rise up, i recently sell at 0.00000005, right now we have 555 ltc of buyer at 0.00000002 on crypsty.

But i am wondering if crypsty stop to support this coin, what happen  Huh

To be honest, i'm quietly supporting Dime since begining, i'm not in any hope, but i trust that dime could be very more valued.
When he go up i sell a little, if no i just stack and it work well.

See, even in this situation who appear pretty confused, in fact confused since time ago.. dime should be dead, and dime is still alive. There is smth Chuck Norris in this coin Cool
This coin appear resistant to me, + asic resistant, fast, easy to mine and little fee when trading, is this all i need.
+ When i see those guys who invest time in dime, working to add pools exchange wallet etc, it making something real with this coin and the little community who still on it.

I would check, but quark and dime are a bit alien to me.

 pchMessageStart[0] = 0xfe;

and the others should be the same, I guess that applies to testnet, too.

But it also looks like tour genesis block is wrong, or you have taken the checkpoints of quark into the code, but they don't belong to dime.

It would be easier to upgrade from 0,8,2 and add the missing bits.

Put some nodes in connecting to the explorer's IP and to your own daemon, Insert getnetworkhashps, update the checkpoints.

You should be good to go.

I'd stay with the Dime client, and work forward.

Problem is that the files are unfamilar to me me. I know bitcoin, quark/dime is different with how it arranges the spread of files.

If you find out how different, let us all know.

dime does not have chainparams.cpp or h, so perhaps there is a conflict there.

chainparams is where the unixtime, nonce, genesis goes in btc, but not with dime. So you have to somehow make sure the client knows where to look.

It would be far easier binning quark, and updating dime.

it is saying there is an issue with checkpoints, and the blockhash's don't match. You probably have two sets.

Start again, it is quicker. Stay with dime, forget quark.

Your blockhashes are in conflict.

Actualy, ignore my advice, and contact that Max guy.

He could be a helpful type.

Blah Blah

Do you have any idea what you are talking about?

You trash talk Ahab all the time, yet have nothing useful to contribute yourself.  At least Ahab is trying...

The last hour trying to help you explained you had a conflict with blockhashes and wrong ports.olus you had different folders.to dime

So carry on by yourself.

rpc and p2p ports for dime ... google them

Check \contrib\pyminer\pyminer.py(219):
Code:
	if 'port' not in settings:
settings['port'] = 8372

Check \contrib\wallettools\walletchangepass.py(2):
Code:
access = ServiceProxy("http://127.0.0.1:8372")

Check \contrib\wallettools\walletunlock.py(2):
Code:
access = ServiceProxy("http://127.0.0.1:8372")

Last time i assist, they are quarkcoin's ports.

The problem I was having had nothing to do with block hashes or ports.  You don't have any idea what you are talking about.

You said, "But it also looks like tour genesis block is wrong, or you have taken the checkpoints of quark into the code, but they don't belong to dime."

Which is stupid... it tells me you didn't even look...  I copied the genesis block and checkpoints before my first github commit... I even added a new checkpoint!

You have 2 source codes intermingled.

The error messages told you there was an issue, and this is because you have a bunch of new folders mingled in with other folders and they are conflicted.

Just keep up with it, and I will leave you alone, just a bit annoyed off that you ask questions then act like a petulant child with a rather childish agenda.
