Hi guys, i have some dimecoins,   842 938.71953 DIME.

I want to sell it, you can buy them for 0.007 BTC. I will only sell them all in 1 time.

PM me if interested.

You can sell them directly at cryptopia/novaexchange/yobit/livecoin. The price you mentioned here is 10 times higher than the current market rate.

Hi guys. DIME also got my interest, as it clearly got yours! I have some initial questions, which I hope you can help me with?

- Where can I find some fundamental (background) information about this coin ( like whitepaper, dev team, roadmap, etc )
Read earlier pages. Can we say it is a community coin with not much fundamental info? Dev team = Peme?

- Is there a Slack channel?
I haven't seen any info on this forum about it. Seems this forum acts as Slack for the moment?

- How much is the FOMO factor of this coin, do guys think?
Dime is not there yet...

- Where can I buy/sell DIME?
https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/
https://novaexchange.com/market/LTC_DIME/
https://yobit.net/en/trade/DIME/BTC#1M
https://www.livecoin.net/

- Where can I keep them safe?
Paper wallet is on the way?

Obviously I am a newbie here, but this coin got my interest already for a couple of weeks, so all your help is very much appreciated to get me decent kickstart.

Thanks a lot!!

UPDATE:
Most answers already found. Maybe I should have first spend more time reading the previous pages before posting above... O:)
Have added answers to the above myself for now for other newbies, however please do add/correct where needed! Thanks ( and to Peme!! )

Original developer and website dissapeared long ago. DimeCoin has been taken over by community. The new website is here since about 2 weeks: http://www.dimecoin.rocks/ , where you can download a working windows wallet and find a paper wallet generator to keep your DIME safe. At the moment I do setup a virtual machine with mac os to compile a mac wallet. When all is working well, it will be available for download within the next weeks.

Everyone can help to make DimeCoin great again. I am not familiar with Slack. If it can help DimeCoin, we should use it.

best regards,
peme

The only way we can push the price up by buying and holding. The sell walls are pretty massive at this moment. I suggest everyone to buy and stake it for a long period of time. It's price is almost nil right now. You get millions for almost nothing....

How to compile  DIME wallet for linux from source code:
watch video youtube
https://github.com/coins7ex/dimecoin

(During compiling

if you get an error:

alert.cpp:268:1: fatal error: opening dependency file obj/alert.d:
No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
make: *** [obj/alert.o] Error 1

please use command:

mkdir obj

and next:

make -f makefile.unix "USE_UPNP=-"

if you have later second error:

g++: /coins7ex/dimecoin/src/leveldb/libmemenv.a: No such file or
directory
make: *** [dimecoind] Error 1

please open leveldb and use command:

make libleveldb.a libmemenv.a

and go back to compiling.)

No need to push the price fast. It is a good situation to buy a lot of DIME cheap. Within the coming weeks and months DIME will rise. We will have MAC wallet, more content on the website (step by step instructions for paper wallet usage, mining istructions, ....) soon. Market capitalisation will also rise and more people will notice DIME. A lot of DIME have been mined already and the day will come, when mining is done and we could switch over to staking. The first webshops will accept DIME for payment. Mooncoin is a nice example, how profitable it can be to buy cheap and hold and not to sell after some hundred percent price increase. 2 years ago I gifted 10 million MOON to a friend with value around 5 USD. Now worth around 500 USD.
And the community will make the decisions for further development (DimeCoin Logo, staking amount after mining done, new functions, android app, ...just some ideas.....)

Yeah, I didn't want to push the price faster. I suggested to buy and HODL as well. Lets make DIME great again.  Grin

Luckily I got DIME a bit cheaper. 1.11 million DIME for every dollar is not a bad deal at all.  Grin Grin

@peme, what is the difference between single wallet and paper wallet as I can see in the wallet generator website?

And also I want to know if I send some coin to my paper wallet how do they get deposited in my offline storage? Just curious....are those coins stay in the network and as soon as the private key imported to a online storage, they get deposited?

VirusTotal detects BitCoin mining software included in most altcoin wallets. This is unfortunate because it means we trigger false positives now. Disregard virus alerts that detect the wallet as “Bitcoin software” or other such nonsense. There is absolutely no virus in the official wallet at http://www.dimecoin.rocks

That is true, and dimecoin was made from bitcoin 8.3 (or something), so it will always  get flagged.

If you take out setgenerate true and disable IRC, it might pass.

NB: Virus Total is not a very good source anyway, if you notice the detectors, they are always small unheard of companies, who are too lazy (or see an opening), to remove Bitcoin miner as a virus.

I cannot speak for your wallet as I do not have one, but the original dimecoin source is clean.

Edit

You need to create a bootstrap, though. It is not hard.
