I am a big fan of RIC and searching for prime numbers. I am wondering how someone like me can could help with the development of Riecoin. I do some dev work for a living.

Also question how can I join the private pool Ublock.it?

Thank you for the msg.

Also wondering about how I can help with the development of this coin. Lots of coins do well because there is a large community and developers supporting the community.

What do people think is most needed right now:

- New updated wallet?
- Mobile wallet for trading and payments?
- GPU miner?
- More marketing.
- More scientific research put into the coin?
- Working with more exchanges to list the coin?
- Something else?

Interesting to see what people think is most needed...

Updating RIC to one of the later Satoshi versions would be nice. 0.12.1 or newer.

I'm with ziiip on that one. I think Riecoin could probably use a bit of a sprucing up on the wallet side before another marketing push. No need to mess with the pow - it's perfect.

Concur - despite having that suggestion for continuing transaction processing during superblocks, I think it's more important to do the spruce-up pass before doing something that would require another hard fork.

Getting us up to a more recent Bitcoin version would be stellar.  There's not too much in the code that differs from mainline - it's almost entirely in the PoW - so it shouldn't be *that* awful.  Knock on wood. :-)

Hey guys, first post here. New to the riecoin! So I have my wallet and I uploaded the nodes from a couple pages back in the .conf but its says that I am 3 years and 15 weeks behind (LOL) it started at 3 years and 24 weeks and about 6 hours has gone by. Is there something I am doing wrong? Or do I need to add more nodes? Or do I just need to wait it out? Don't really want to download the blockchain locally...

Riecoin has been around for a while, so it has a very long blockchain - it will take a long time to sync from scratch. See the post from MasterQ on the previous page for a way to fast track the process. Just make sure to give the file a thorough scanning before you open it.

I synced the blockchain from scratch a few weeks ago, took about 4-5 days.

Hi guys,

I like riecoin for it's beauty! I try to start mining it in ublock.it, but got this error:

Connected to server using x.pushthrough(xpt) protocol
Connection to server lost - Reconnect in 45 seconds

I used ubuntu and followed instructions from

https://github.com/dave-andersen/fastrie

PS if you got this error message when making the miner:

xptMiner/riecoinMiner.cpp:6:26: fatal error: primesieve.hpp: No such file or directory

The solution is:

sudo apt-get install libprimesieve-dev

You need to compile from the stratum branch
Be sure to select it when cloning

Here is my 2 cents:

- mobile wallet is top priority. Previously we had https://cryptap.us/ric/jswallet/ but now it's gone.
- more exchanges to list the coin - very important as currently only Ponoliex has the coin with both trading and deposit possible.

GPU miner is a big no. Everyone mining with CPU is better than everyone has to mine with GPU, right? There is no benefit of GPU miner other than forcing every one to upgrade their hardware.
