yeah, but Arsenal is five points below Liverpool and tied with United, after being laughed on after three round, goalless and pointless
it would be interesting to see them within top4 (not that I think it is realistic), they have five wins and two draws in last seven rounds

interestingly, West Ham is third, and their place is obviously the one that both United and Arsenal with target to enter CL, since City, Liverpool and Chelsea are almost secure on top3

That 4th place was reserved for United when season started and they should be able to drag them selves back to it if they start actually playing. Arsenal is good squad but nothing more, I said the same when they lost that first 3 matches, and I was sure they will rise to top half of the table. Same way I am now sure they will not be top 4 team when season ends. They had some easy games and got some points, they don't have the squad to fight it out with Liverpool, City and Chelsea and I expect them to collect maybe 2 points from those 6 games.

Can't believe Spurs got rid of Nuno already. Yeah, results are not great but his team is also not of the highest quality needed to challenge for the top positions in the league. Their biggest mistake was sacking Poch, he was outperforming almost all the time, at least that was my take on Spurs throughout last couple of seasons.

That is what I always said as a Spurs fan even many years ago before Kane and when we had Bale still. Even during Redknapp era we had fans asking for more and more and spending and spending. At least at the time it was not so problematic, the problems began when we started doing better and better in league position and then even getting to UCL final.

Very few fans realized that this was overperformance. And we should have enjoyed the memories.

Yep, agreed. The top 4 was defined for me even before the first ball was kicked. I did expect United to perform better though, but I don't think their spot will come under serious threat.

The other 3 contenders opened really strongly and after a while, we might have a real title race with more than 2 clubs in it.

Chelsea looked the best so far but they are a bit behind quality-wise. Liverpool will have to go through the African nations cup period unscathed though, that could kill their title hopes.

That would have been a pretty disastrous round for me had I not got the correct score on the Leeds game. Had a solitary point before that match. Wasn't hopeful Leeds could get the win either and it was pretty dicey with 3 goals in 5 mins in the second half. Quite a few shock results especially City losing to Palace and Liverpool drawing with Brighton. They're doing pretty well this season. Might be a overlooked team. Was one goal off a correct score on last nights match and if that would have come in it probably wouldn't have been a bad round for me ultimately.

Ole staying in United is a good news for all United haters. One good result does not mean they are out of the crises or that United found their game. They just played against even worse team and I think it will show in CL and against City.

I can't believe they signed Nuno in the first place. Didn't expect him to last long in this current climate of sacking managers. Spurs should have never got rid of Poch and at least given Mourinho a lot longer. I'm not sure what the board is expecting of Spurs given the strength of the big 5.

Don't agree about it. Under Poch, Spurs were always choking in big games and I think that changes were needed when he was sacked. Call me Pochettino hater, but I think he was hyped to much in Spurs. Yeah, things haven't improved under Mou or Nuno, but I think biggest part of blame goes to Levy and his greediness
It will be interesting to watch Conte in Spurs, but if Levy won't open his wallet, Conte don't have big chances to achieve something significant. C'mon, Spurs struggling even in Conference League...

I think Poch did make a great team out of Tottenham, in almost a way Simone did with Atletico, I agree with the part that they were choking against the big teams, but they were consistent in the top positions, and I feel it would have been just matter of time before that would be sorted too in a way, what Poch was building was a long term process, and I think they would have been better off should he still be in charge.

Conte might not be a bad idea for Tottenham, but are they willing to spend, and not also expect an immediate turnaround ?

They were pretty consistent, as Harko says, with a limited budget, would have been another Arsenal had Poch been given time. They definitely choked a lot, but still, that core team found a way to break into top 4 and get better and better, and then there's that UCL final. They didn't choke on the way there, totally outplayed and outgunned bigger teams (was a joy to see them trade blows with City en route). They simply lost to the best team in the final.

Where did you get info about cool quarter million pounds? Did not read that anywhere and it sounds quite unbelievable for a guy as cheep as Levy He has cultivated a strong image of tough negotiator and squeezing every last pound for his players while never spending much. Maybe he finally decided to turn the page but I am not believing it until Spurs buy a couple of expensive players.

I tried to google it, and it looks like there's no consensus on this matter among the news agencies yet. Here's two examples:

have today completely given my picks and see the game man united vs. man city rather the team of P. Guardiola in the favorite role
btw, i would have to give a little bit better predictions, so that the gap to the top10 doesn't get bigger...

Southampton is winning 1-0 as we approach end of the first half.I have it 2-1 as a correct score but I was not convinced in a Southampton win against Aston Villa but chose to go this route because lately Aston Villa has only gone from bad to worse so at least I have started with the right foot this week so far.

The Manchester derby of tomorrow will be a great game to watch and I think Manchester City will have a hard time to win the game although I think they will win in the end.

I almost missed putting my pick in for the game, but now I believe it would not have even mattered if I didn't because, I have 2-1 victory in favor of Aston Villa..  It's 83 minutes gone so far and Southampton are still ahead by the lone goal, it been an attacking minded game from both sides, that there is just a goal so far is a bit surprising to me.

It's really so hard for me. I think I got up to third once a few weeks ago but then it keeps getting so tight with everyone all around me climbing up or taking points. I think we need to think about our own totals every week is all. If we can get our averages to go up, then we have a big chance of getting it after 28 more games. Hang in there

They should never have got rid of Poch. I don't understand how seven+ Premier League teams think they all should be winning the league with their respective teams. I doubt Conte will last any longer than the last couple.

Well I'm off to a good start with the correct score on that match. The Manchester derby next up is a tricky one. I kinda want to back the away City win but I'm not sure I trust City to get the job done right now and United might be due a bounce back and maybe both teams will cancel each other out. Hopefully there's a lot of goals. It's the only game I'm interested in today.

Heh I need to look up that stat from Ogden later on. How is it possible to put your keeper under such pressure for so long and not give him night terrors I don't know.

Was actually surprised the score stood for so long. Thought United would end up giving up the second half but live stats seemed to just stagnate in the final quarter.

Happy with my exact score but more relieved I didn't back United this game. Ole's record vs Pep was tempting but his team is shockingly clueless.

When I saw Man City's lineup, I was like what's Guardiola trying to achieve with Grealish, Mahrez and Sterling all on the bench and with Man City spiking rate of conceding goals, they'll likely concede at least a goal. However, Ole is a genius couldn't score against them.

Im still shocked how United is playing really bad.City dominated the entire match and could have score 4+ goals in this match easily like Liverpool did. Ole needs to be sacked instantly after another loss,he just lost focus and dosent know what do anymore.
Also this week is the worst week for me since the start of the tournament,results are awful.
