For example, I wish Manchester City to lose against Villa, but they are much more likely to defeat them. So it's reasonable to pick City to win, even if I will be happier if vice versa.

Well in my case last season ( I was over 20th place ), I would take a bold step on a match like this by picking Aston Villa to win against City. Picking City to win against Aston Villa means that you will pretty much get the same points as the others and its not good enough to catch up

So its either take the risk to get 0 point or get some points if Aston Villa while most didnt get it. There is nothing to lose there if you are over 20th lol

Sportsbet have put in 0.1 into the pot along with a free $50 for the weekly round winner again. There will also be a small consolation prize for the highest weekly round winner overall.

I dislike Superbru as well but I like the competition and the banter so I'll be playing regardless. In the Prem pool it doesn't bother me as much because you can go with draws, whereas in the knockout competitions their points system really ruins the fun in the later stages.

I also like that they don't overreward correct outcomes, these are mostly luck anyway.

50 x 2 = 0.2 btc total prize pot. Where else do you find little over €6700 in total cash money except here on this blessed forum with friends, eh? Best of all, seems like our money is always worth a hell lot more end of season.

That is actually one of my favourite ways to hedge my bets. You either get the money (in your case points) or the result you wanted to happen. You just have to look at it as win-win situation.

This has been me all season long. Predict the upset, bet on the favourites. Or the other way round. But this is why draws screw me both ways. I'm going to give this season a hard look at myself... Superbru system does not reward the upset, so I may just learn my lesson and go with the flow more often, and pick draws when I should.

I would prefer over-rewarding massive upsets though =D I think a rewards system where you get as much as the odds indicate would be "fairer" but nevertheless I think Superbru's always been geared towards picking the exact scores, for that grand prize money, which isn't too bad anyway.

Yep, this is the highest fee that we ever had on our pools. Around 80$ could be quite steep for some people. I hope I am wrong but I am expecting less people then previous season. That also has its advantages since it is much easier to get yellow cap free bet and the value you get for entry fee is higher if there is less people participating.

Good point about free withdrawals from Sportsbet, I actually did not know they were caped at 2 mBTC, I thought it was always free but I never tried withdrawing anything less than 20 mBTC.

Anyway, I will be participating for sure. See you guys around when it starts.

Personally, I'm fine with using Superbru. Yes, it's not perfect with downtime after games and not everyoe likes scoring system. But I think it would impossible to find website that everyone will like. And I doubt that we have better alternative.
Offcourse, we can go with spreasheets, but it's lot of extra work for someone to count everything. And personally, I prefer not to wait until someone will count points manually, I like to see it soon after end of match.

I agree that it is very strange to take 120 min result as final score for knockout games. That one bothers me big time since I like playing draws. Fortunately that is not an issue for league predictors.

That's is weird, but superbru weren't the only ones who scored the euro games that way.  I got bit on a bet due to that scoring method, learned my lesson the hard way.  Once you're expecting it it's not such a big deal, but like you said, it's not an issue for the EPL.

That's is weird, but superbru weren't the only ones who scored the euro games that way.  I got bit on a bet due to that scoring method, learned my lesson the hard way.  Once you're expecting it it's not such a big deal, but like you said, it's not an issue for the EPL.

I don't know any bookie that did that on ML, there was some that offered lines for results after extra time, and many offered lines for going trough ie. final result after penalties.

Just shows how important it is to at least skim trough TOC when starting to use new bookie. I know several bookies that take forfeits in tennis after match started as regular result. Screwed me few times but then I got back at them in the early rounds of grand slams where you can use such scoring in your favor since there is always a couple of players ranked form 50-100 that just come to take first round check even if they are unfit to actually play. Good money for just showing up, almost 70k$ in Wimbledon this year even after covid forced prize reductions and you can collect even if you play just one game (about 5 minutes on the pitch with warm up) in main draw.

My only criticism of superbru is that I think you should get more than 3 points for a correct score. 4 or maybe 5. Correct scores are very difficult to get and that should be rewarded with points. Getting 2 or 3 correct scores is much better than a handful of correct outcomes but someone who did would usually be better off than the correct scores.

Well, assuming we get 50. I'm not sure there will be as many as last year, though I think technically the pot is already much bigger as I think Sportsbet put in £1000 in bitcoin last time around but it rose significantly over the year. Hopefully that will happen again this year.

$80 really isn't much especially for a whole season. I'm sure most will make that money back from their signature campaign by just posting in this thread throughout the season. All you need to do is win the weekly round once and you're almost in profit anyway.

I like Superbru, by the way. I think the system is more or less fair, and I like how they visualize things. It's very convenient to be able to analyze many things (including one's own performance) on a single website.

It wasn't a ML bet, it was a multiple prop bet along with picking the winner.  I got all the props right in the 90 minutes, except for the end result.  It confused me at first, because this is all somewhat new to me.  I don't gamble a lot.  Usually I only place bets on matches where I'm quite certain of the end results.

That would be preposterous.  There's no need to do things manually when you have a tool like Superbru.  In fact, when I joined last year I had no idea that such a site existed and was rather impressed by it.  It's not perfect by any means, but it sure beats a spreadsheet.

I agree with the discussions above that $80 is an amount that if you can't afford for a whole season, you shouldn't be playing:) But at the same time, I also know the situation of a lot of friends and family ($80 is translated to half month's pay here for most of my colleagues) so I won't forget I am lucky to be in a position to spend this amount. It's actually really because of Bitcoin.

Actually I didn't even realize we had so many last season, 50 is a lot! It didn't seem so in the threads or I guess not everyone chatted:)

Yup! I think the Superbru system is more rewarding for correct outcomes, especially because of the slam points. This makes people take less risk, because slam points can really add up. If you were to award slam points for correct scores instead, it might help rebalance the system.

I never heard of a bookie who scores like that also. Always if you take 1x2 it is full time result. I did not know tennis forfeits were common just to get paid,,, seems like they should stamp out behavior like that.

The Sportsbet specials for Olympics and EURO also gave me a lesson about Full Time and Extra Time results,,, for example if you see, most of the Specials have "90 mins" or "inc.ET" which was the most important thing to know when picking one of the 21 Specials,,, most people including myself thought it was a good bet on 21 goals scored in the post-group stage, but 30 minutes extra of added time per game made it a bad bet:)

agree, but for Premier league it is not easy to guess correct outcomes for five or more matches in a week (it is much easier for Calcio or La liga, where you have three-four odds below @1.4 per round)
especially last season, there were rounds when yellow cap was scored for complete score below 10, which is low, counting in that close score brings 1.5 point

maybe it is on me, but I do remember not having even one slam points in many rounds last season

It is probably on you as if you check the last season leaderboards,don't know if that still available but it should be in the Superbru app you will see that a lot of people including me got slam points regularly,you just have to predict many correct scores 1 X 2 and not the exact results,the formula is simple or at least until last season it was the more correct scores the more slam points.

Guys, I have a question ... I'm not sure if this has been discussed already, but I'll ask you anyway. What if, hypothetically, I want to increase my chances? Can I double or triple the entry fee? The question is more related to ethics, since if we are guided by logic, then we can assume that ten people who made a double entry fee will increase the total prize pool. However, only your main Superbru account can participate in the weekly Yellow Cap draw.
