Liverpool leading 1-0 so hopefully they win 2-1 or at least win in this match for some gold points. Well im 20 points away from first place but i will continue to fight i think its possible to reach the top positions. Small gap between 8th and 22th position i think so all spots are open

Good luck to you in the pool. I have a 2 - 1 for Liverpool to win. But I would be happier to see another goal first to make it 2 - 0 to stay relax. A goal conceding in the 2nd half will pressure the boys although it seems in this season somewhat we are managing to win the matches so far.

Good for City that they were able to score just before the final whistle or the point difference could have a 3 points difference with City. It is too early to predict anything but so far things are going fine with us. Hope we continue the run until the end.

Maybe the one who is not in the advantage is Arsenal because they have to bitterly accept defeat again.

Another 3 points in a very controlled LFC performance. I feel it would have been even easier if Jota could have played his 70ish minutes - with Nunez it's always a cointoss what you'll get.
Top of the table, and going to Arsenal in the worst possible moment for them. It has really been a teriffic start to the season - if only City didn't win today with the last kick of the ball from a doubtful position - it would have been perfect.

I think we hammer Arsenal next week, which would create a nice buffer between us.

You have Sanchez and the Ref to be thank for- our CBs needs to look at themselves in the mirror, it's becoming boring at this point.. professional players playing like kids and missing out on basic defending every fucking week. Slot deserves some accolades though.

Then again, 2 VARs went against Liverpool (correctly) so one has to say the ref tried to help Liverpool but failed, and in the end they didn't need VAR so well done, Slot getting recognition??

Playing with national team and playing in club football is different. In club football the team mates have better understanding than in national league. Haaland will be back soon, he is a player who knows when to strike.

I think we hammer Arsenal next week, which would create a nice buffer between us.

We are at home and Saka and Martin could be fit for that match. Not our best shape, but I do not think there is a risk of we getting hammered.

I do hope we do not get ahead of ourselves. FC Shakhtar Donetsk is not a straightforward team and we definitely need all 3 points to remain in contention for any of the 8 automatic places in the UCL. Avoiding those extra 2 matches will be very important in the title race too.

Kelleher was not bad on the goal, but Chelsea managed to score and get one in the net.
It is going to be another big test for him against Arsenal, and I expect to see goals in that match.
I wont say anything much about my poor performance in Premier League pool this round

The weakest link in our team is Sanchez, we need to sort that Asap, the Gee is so inconsistent and not ready to take risk.

But I think the pressure on Arsenal is higher, they have more to lose so early into the season. Falling behind 7 points against Liverpool and potentially 6 points against Manchester City would give a big blow to their title dreams. Yes everybody will now say that nothing is lost after 9 games of course, but since Liverpool and Manchester are two teams that are definitely capable of a huge winning streak, 6 or 7 points is quite a lot and who says that Arsenal would be able to pull off a similar winning streak.

That's why I see why you would be satisfied with a draw. It would mean that Liverpool survived one of the toughest games away from home without losing much and they'd still be in a great position. However, there is one caveat. There have been season where 1 point made the difference between Liverpool and Manchester City and this could happen anytime again. 18/19 and 21/22 were incredibly close, so you'd make sure to not not drop points easily

If I'm not mistaken, Liverpool lost many titles even if they beat all the big teams, the problem was drawing small teams. You can always afford to lose one game against a big team if you win just 1 game on a small team while they steal 2 points from the big ones, you are already ahead. But yes, if you are talking about Manchester City, 1 point is precious in the season end so this is a must-win game for both Arsenal and Liverpool!

The referee made 2 wrong calls in Liverpool favor, then VAR overturned it. That's what I was referring to At least thats what the match report said. There are very few VAR wrong calls in 1 season, and I don't recall how many wrong VAR calls there were that went against Chelsea in past seasons, but I remember maybe couple of wrong VAR calls that went to Manchester United and they still sucked

Liverpool actually have the most VAR errors against them in the league 2 seasons past, Wolves second most affected. Then, last season they switched place, Wolves was most, Liverpool second. Crazy!

The VAR said "confirm" to mean confirm goal but referee thought it was to confirm offside, I didn't even know that detail until now lol!

Apart from that early penalty call that unbalance us as we had to start chasing the game, I don't think I saw anything wrong with the referee decision. We (Chelsea) tried out best but it wasn't our day.

Palmer wasn't cold, he was hot. Anfield kept him warm and without him performing, we're basically clueless. Sanchez though need to go, dude is just full of mistakes but his credit has to be given for his saves.

Either he works on his passing/ball control ability because he's lacking in that area as he keeps putting the defenders under pressure.

Lets not point fingers now because Liverpool took their chances and deserved the victory. They didn't allow us capitalized on our goal and scored almost immediately to put back the pressure on us and that was brilliant from them. Enzo again failed in a big game, but there's still hope because of how we played.

Nice try, but you don't need a random write-up from Jacob Leeks, who is interested in LGBT sports, to tell you who VAR went against or for; I watch these games and don't need someone to sit in front of their laptop and tell me what I already know. It is not news that Chelsea is undoubtedly one of the most hated clubs in England; you can see how the entire country handled the club and its players during the sanction; they even attempted to stop us from attending away games.

Everyone is aware that there was a big agenda prior to the implementation of VAR. Poor referee decisions contributed to Hazard's early retirement; he was kicked all games without protection, and those early kicks played a significant role in his injuries, which became a problem for him later in his career. It is unfair. The same thing is happening to Saka; he needs some protection before he ends up like Hazard. I like that fact that Citeh are exposing the level of corruption in the league.

Liverpool is the biggest club in the league and most of the FA officials grew up as a fan - you can't take that away from them..

I think it is more a must win game for Arsenal than it is for Liverpool because Arsenal would far very far behind if they indeed lose the game. Being behind so many points in the early season is not trivial and I think it's tough on the morals as well. If the teams at the top keep winning their points and Arsenal keeps winning too, they can never close the gap and the time comes when this gets to their nerves.

LOL in my area, Liverpool are not even top3 most supported teams except since last 5 years but you always get new fans after winning titles. It's mostly Chelsea because of Abramovich days, and some diehard United and Gunners, but they are old bunch. The ones people hate is usually United, from my observation. But the Russian hate I think was really unfair, so I agree with you there. Football fans and politics should be kept apart.

The VAR stats is from EPL tho and made by independent body so this guy you hate didn't make it up

I completely agree about protections. EPL players love to kick legs of talented players they can't control. Its better with VAR now IMO in this regard.

Yes, that was their problem under Klopp. Or even before that if I recall even during Steven Gerrard's time, you will see them beat City, United, Arsenal no problem but they will lose to some weird team because they did not know how to manage games.

Arsenal used to be their whipping boys but now Arteta has changed his team. I still think Liverpool will win, they just seem much more 'mature' at controlling games now.
