Managed a new low this season, last place is really something when there is 64 of us playing. Even Strongkored that is equally bad is in front of me on alphabet, good work man

How do they say it again? It isn't how you start but how you finish right?. We have 37 more games to play and after those games obviously, you aren't going to be at the bottom.

I didn't start the season quite well too but it's just the first game and after a long time away from predicting, I notice some of my  picks were just off.

Almost missed out on dropping my prediction and had to rush them but the game week 2 is going to get some calm and well thought about predictions from me.

It's how Nunez started, so I wouldn't want to put all my eggs on him. That said, I was never sure we needed Isak... I just feel like losing Diaz and Jota was an unexpected blow and we need to plug it. Gakpo's cool, but hey who knows, Chiesa comes good? Haha.

After you said that I wanted to check out Nunez's first ever Premier League match. You are right. He also started the same way. 1 goal and 1 assist. Yes, Chiesa's goal was quite unexpected. He was even among the players to be sent from the team.

Prior to that, Nunez also showed up Haaland in the Charity Shield... so, yeah. Early games tell us almost nothing. They're almost as useless as pre-season friendlies in terms of judging player abilities throughout. That does mean Kerkez and Wirtz shouldn't be judged too harshly.

I can never find it in my heart to bet against the team I support. Not even going as far as a draw. The worst I do for Liverpool is to bet on them to qualify during a cup contest (so, in a sense, a possible draw, but eventually winning on penalties or extra time). Fulham makes the most sensible bet here, though, it's just value. Same as Spurs at almost 8/1 (vs City but they are a sort of bogey team for the Sky Blues).

Betting on your favorite team's games is always a problem, as sympathy distorts the real picture. I also predicted that Arsenal would win (although I support United), but I could not predict that United would not score a single goal. Perhaps this was a mistake, since Arsenal are good in defense and if they score first, it is very difficult to come equalise.
A bad start (in terms of points) is a good opportunity in terms of betting, I think a cash bet on United to win against Fulham and Burnley is justified.

1st place - (20% of prize pot)
2nd place - (15% of prize pot)
3rd place - (12% of prize pot)
4th and 5th place - (9% of prize pot)
6th to 10th place - (7% of prize pot)

Seems like the pot this year is gonna be distributed in a diferent way right? I mean less for the top spot and a little bit more for the players between 6 to 10.

About the Arsenal Macnhester United game, Manchester play really well aside of ending up losing the game, Arsenal was pretty bad and they dont deserve to win, in fact they won only because of Manchester missed chances.

A relatively small reward for the highest weekly cap might lead to bottom of the table teams losing interest midway throughout the competition, but other than that I like the distribution.

Almost 20% of the pool gets rewarded, and even a 10th place finish leads to a very nice reward.

Just 1 question though @hilariousandco - I assume that the sponsorship money will be transferred to BTC as soon as it's received, correct?

You shouldn't feel guilty on that man. You just wanted to act with your senses which is totally normal.    Yeah, it sucks when it's against the club you support but better than being emotional IMHO.

Congrats on your yellow cap! As for the Fulham game, I believe Man Utd will beat them. Did you see how much Fulham struggled on the first week? It must be the time for Man Utd to get their first win of the season...

Yes. I personally prefer to do it in fixed amounts and have higher percentage for first place but jeremypwr wanted to do it this way and also send the sponsorship at the end of the season so we couldn't really do it the old way with prizes allocated in bitcoin amounts.

The weekly cap has always been a small amount, usually whatever was left in the pot. The sponsorship is just 10k in bitcoin this time and will be distributed at the end of the tournament.

Starting well in a marathon doesn't give you the win though, what masters is your consistency. If we can stay on an average speed for the most part of the race and then put in more efforts close to the finishing mark, you're most likely to win but enough of the motivational posts, let me go put in my picks, aiming for the yellow cap straight away (I know I'll get one and possibly get one of the highest just like last season) lol. We having some interesting matches this weekend, we're definitely going to be entertained.

I'm not handling the payments this year so it's up to jeremypwr. Personally, I also prefer a huge first place prize of 50% of the pot or something like that.

Perhaps this was a mistake, since Arsenal are good in defense and if they score first, it is very difficult to come equalise.

Thanks I was thrilled when Fulham scored the late equaliser since I went for 1-1 here in our pool but they were indeed more than awful
But to Fulham's credit they are really an annoying team to play against.

This second round can start to show some users who are gonna start to build a gap ahead or they are gonna fall after having a great start, lets see if it was pure luck or skills involved.

Those who ended at the bottom put in just as much work as those who finished at the top; it's a 99.9% luck-based pool. 

I prefer it when rewards are distributed throughout multiple participants rather than pushing everything to the top. It's all for fun, money is secondary for me.

  I'm in my third year in a row and not betting against United sometimes would be pure madness, we've all seen the rock bottom they've hit in recent seasons. There is hope that this season will be the first season of progress (it can't get any worse), but when playing against the favorites, I think United will be a consistent underdog. So 6 points before the game with City is literally the minimum that United must achieve.
