It was unintentional and clumsy, but even Gordon apologized for a 'reckless' tackle - so everybody can see it was a good call.

Added on time was fair as well - there were many interruptions with both Tonali and Schar needing lengthly onfield interventions.

That all being said - Liverpool was lucky. And it was the 2nd time in a row this season. Newcastle were brilliant with 10 players and showed to the whole league that physicality will disrupt Liverpool's flow.
I expect more teams to follow this example - and Liverpool to struggle against it.

Lol as a neutral I think if I check stats you would be so wrong But anyway I think its always wrong to say about VAR and ref, unless you're in Spain where the ref corruption is real (and I can admit it even tho I'm a Barca fan who our club got caught bribing officials).

Respect to Chelsea who helped to make the weekend exciting. Only 3 games were worth watching. Otherwise Liverpool is only one providing entertainment 2 weeks now.

The only i can say about Liverpool is, they are becoming super weak compared with last season, i mean they won the last 2 games but it was pure luck, they cant hold the result against Bournemouth and even less against a Newcastle with one less man.

So i dont know what is happening but they dont look super strong.

I always tell my friend that it is good result if a club wins when they are not playing at their best, i mean, they could have lost, which would be far worse. However, they picked up the three points, six points from the two games and now the manager has another chance to fix the weakness in the team before they play Arsenal, or else their luck could run out in that one.

Konate appears to be doing all of the work, their fullbacks are shit in both defensive and offensive phases, and VD is growing older.  They should forgo the Isak chase and focus on fixing their backline.

Liverpool have really poor defending right now... They conceded 4 goals in 2 games already which doesn't sound good for the rest of the season.    The new defense line still needs time seemingly.

Szoboszlai had to play as right-back in the last game because of Frimpong's injury. Konate doesn't look convincing so far. Even van Dijk isn't that great anymore. Kerkez is new around here and not performing nicely yet.

I keep wondering what would had been the scoreline if Cole Palmer didn't get injured, J. Pedro got the freedom he had in that game because of that injury. I want to see the manager play more of J.Pedro, Delap and Estêvão. Maresca should give Palmer the rest he needs to prevent his injury being a long term thing. The squad is in good hands as his brilliance isn't needed that much for Chelsea to win game. Maresca should play the exact same squad for their next game to see if they can duplicate their performance because it was quite entertaining. I love when goals are scored in games, that's how football should be (entertainment to the fans).

Newcastle played the game with great conviction that they weren't an underdog, and it was an even game before they were down to 10 men, it was really surprising to see them in full pressing and attack mode while down to 10 men and Liverpool couldn't make the most of the opportunity to put the game to bed early.

I'm also wondering what Liverpool will do against Arsenal this week. I believe they will manage to win by benefiting from Arsenal's injury problems. Ødegaard and Saka both are expected to be out for now.

But while Liverpool are dealing with defensive problems I still don't expect a comfortable win. It has been almost 4 years since they beat Arsenal at Anfield the last time. We will see whether this bad streak will end.

Yeah, it was reckless and could have been given - but for me Gordon's was much more clear. Gravenberch's is a 50-50, some will give it and some won't. 90%+ will give a red for Gordon's tackle.

Please don't start with the conspiracies, Bournemouth's handball in Round 1 was a red card as well - and it was not given. You win some you lose some, same for all teams other than Fergie's United.

With this new pattern, I can't see them winning arsenal when they face each other on Sunday. The best they can get from that game is a draw. Liverpool needs to work on their defending or they can as well forget about retaining the title. Scoring isn't a problem but what happens when they face a team that don't concede goals that easily. Arsenal hasn't conceded any goals for the two games they have played so far and they'll be looking to make it three with Liverpool but meanwhile Liverpool can't say the same and stopping arsenal from scoring, they can only try to outscore them at this point, which is what they'll have to do if they want to win.

Well Cold Palmer has been playing and Chelsea have not benefited. I think they are just experimenting a lot and have just a packed front line. I won't rule the guy out he's too good and has an excellent field brain to be out of touch for so long. For me jury still out on Delap but Pedro has really delivered a lot even in assists.

Arsenal is Arsenal so every single odd have to by multiplied by the Arsenal factor which add a ton of uncertainity to every matter.

And last but not less important, Arsenal is not playing good, for example against Manchester United was a disaster.

BTW, that disallowed goal vs Spurs early on in the season (in a 2-1 loss) was the worst VAR blunder I ever saw.
