DirectBet- Go look at every other rating site. The top books have gone under. Fortunately with input from the posters, that hasn't happened here. I didn't want the bet 7 minutes later.

Well, if you didn't want the bet 7 minutes later, why did you place the exact same bet a few minutes later ?

The truth is that you were happy with the bet and wanted to double your stake. I can post your bets with time stamps if you like.

You are forcefully trying to find problems from air.

If you want to avoid such rare delays in the future, use the Bitcoin Core client when betting in-play. You will not have such delays with the Bitcoin Core client !

If you insist on using a web wallet but are concerned of a delay then deposit your bet first and then once your transfer is received decide if you want to place the bet with immediate confirmation or cancel it.

Remember when you said that Livebets didn't pay me and that was the reason for their D- rating. You showed me where Ryan had them rated as the 3rd highest book. Livebets went under with player's funds shortly after that.

I give you credit for that !

If you remember, when all this started back in April I specifically stated that you are doing a good job of alerting people from scams, but when it comes to rating legitimate books your ratings are biased towards the books that pay you.

Peeps Place is doing a good job in helping players avoid scams, but when it comes to rating legitimate books, it should be disclosed that :

1. The ratings criteria have recently tailored so that only Anonibet can get an A rating.

2. Anonibet is paying Peeps Place for advertising them, as you can see here : http://www.peepsplace.com/

I think that the most important thing is that the top rated books are strong books and the bottom rated books are stealing our money. This has been a community effort. I've been alerted to many things and I hope it continues.

It is 100% unacceptable for a bet to be held an extended time by a book without the possibility of cancellation. This happened to me personally. I realize that this isn't DirectBet's fault but the problem still exists and the bet can theoretically be held for hours.

Once again you continue to spread false and misleading information on DirectBet.

I have already explained to you several times why it is not true that bets are held for an extended period of time.

You are either pretending not to understand, or you are just a marketing guy with no clue on Bitcoin Sports betting.

Either way, you do not have the creditability to rate Bitcoin Sportbooks.

I will however explain it to you again with the hope that you will get it this time :

If you use the official Bitcoin Core client or its lighter version MultiBit you will not encounter any delays. Your bets will be transferred and confirmed instantly.

If you use a shared web wallet such as BlockChain.info your bet transfers may sometimes broadcast in a few minutes delay, although this is extremely rare.

If you bet before the start of the game, that's not really an issue at all. If you bet in-play, there are two solutions :

1. Place your in-play bets using the official Bitcoin Core client.

OR

2. You can deposit first and then place the bet with immediate confirmation, just like you can with deposit books. This is explained in more details here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=393147.msg7708830#msg7708830

Note that you don't need to negotiate the odds betting exchange style in order to do so. You just use the Negotiate Odds betting option to make a deposit and then you can place your bet at market prices.

I'm sorry Peeps Place but every time you make a false accusation on DirectBet, we have no choice but to remind the members here that you are getting paid monthly by our competitors, Anonibet, BetcoinSports and Nitrogen to do so.

We truly hope they will realize that a liar representative is bad publicity for them and that they will stop funding your activity immediately.

What book is this for? Mouthpieces and liars do not make it far in this industry. Simple as that

It's a Casino & Sportsbook. We don't know them.

Your claim that they just signed up to back us is another false accusation.

You just need to accept the fact that many people who read this thread realize that you lie on a regular basis on behalf of the books that pay you to promote them.

why do you make this stuff up? read the quotes again. It's an observation that many people backing you have just signed up. I didn't say it was the sole reason for them signing up. They are just new to this thread and swayed by your posts.

Just gotta chime in here as a fairly neutral, non-directly competing operator...

DirectBet, I think regardless of whether you're right or wrong, you're giving your book and reputation a bad image with how you're handling this. You're in here multiple times a day trying to prove that Peeps is wrong and you are right. Only you seem to care though, everyone else wants to get on with the regular scheduling - it also shows you're not spending your time improving your platform to cater better to your users. There's also a strong feel of a cult/herd mentality within your thread and from your users (assuming they are real), and bashing down what WAS before this shitstorm a decent thread for news, updates, issues and disputes where players and operators can come and talk about problems and settle them, REGARDLESS if they are rated higher or lower than others. Now every time this gets a 'New' pip on my watchlist I expect lots of bold and red writing between you and Peeps. Okay let's assume he gets paid to rate books higher, so? Happens ALL the time in the industry as a whole, in fact, that's what our mass market media is all about. No one can guarantee 100% neutral opinions, and most smart players know this and take all ratings with a grain of salt. Real players will test out each book and decide for themselves what they like, not just go to the 'A' rated book because some guy on the forum said so. The fact you're rated at all is a huge bonus, if I was Peeps I would've already taken you off the list since he's running a self-moderated rating system and can do whatever he wants at the end of the day. RyanK's is much more open to user ratings than this one, but on the downside is also more open to shilling.

How can this end? What do you want Peeps to do, say "Yea you're right, I lied and am being paid to promote the 'top books'". Why!? That's worse for everyone, for the players and for you. The more people actively promoting bitcoin gambling the better, and just because you're unhappy with it, doesn't mean you should be taking everyone else down with you.

What we'd like to see is every reviewer giving each book a fair chance - to post updates, promote, connect with the community (aka not barring entry to the market). Just because you're a C doesn't mean anything is necessarily wrong, and even if you were 'A' wouldn't make you any more popular. Your site does need improvement, face it and focus your time and energy on that. It's been a month for us here at BetMoose and we've already built a whole social network within ours.

BTC gambling is still tiny and a sketchy fiat book from costa rica can swallow everyone up tomorrow with no issues, so let's try to focus on adoption and user growth outside of bitcoin instead of fighting for users within the bitcoin communities. This is, in part, due to Peeps Place being paid for outreach to fiat gambling communities with his 'rating guide'.

Peeps Place already admitted getting paid by his top rated books to promote them in forums.

What we have been asking to end this saga is that Peeps Place put a disclaimer in the opening post stating which books are paying him to promote them in forums.

Another option is to remove the ratings and use this thread as a platform to share experiences with books, alert of scams, etc. but without the biased, paid ratings.

Otherwise, we have no choice but to continually remind the readers here every time this thread is bumped that it is not a true ratings guide and that the ratings are paid for, because just like you want to alert users of scam books, you also want to alert users of scam rating guides, there is no difference.

Is anyone playing with BetMoose or have any questions? https://www.betmoose.com/

Quote
HOW DOES THIS WORK?

BetMoose lets you bet on the outcome of future events.

Anyone can create their own futures contract or "bet" under their own proposed terms. Anonymous and registered users place their wagers on whichever option they predict will come out to be true. At the 'Betting Deadline', the betting stops, and a waiting period begins until the outcome time is reached. At the outcome time, the host sets the correct outcome. To prevent unfair resolutions by the host, bettors have 24 hours to report the bet.

Hosts earn reputation and commissions from accurately resolving so cheating is rarely seen. However, if any reports are received, the payout is halted and a BetMoose moderator will decide the outcome based on what the host specified in the 'Title' and 'Decision Logic' fields. If the BetMoose moderator cannot decide the outcome, the bet is cancelled, and all funds are returned. The payout sent to winners comes directly from the loser pot, and is split among the winners based on how much and how early they bet.

Not all bets are created equal, please read the decision logic and look at the timeline the host has set before placing your bet.
BETTING
1. What's a good betting strategy?
Spread your bet on multiple options depending on your expectations of the event. For example, in a classic Yes/No bet, if you think an event is 75% likely to happen (and you have 10 to bet), place 7.5 on Yes, and 2.5 on No. This way, you maximize your returns, and minimize your risk (since you'll get a proportion of your own coins back at the end regardless of which option wins). We won't bother you with the math here, but we encourage you to run your own calculations.

2. Where can I check my bet status and proof of payouts as an anonymous bettor?
At the bottom in the footer, click ‘Track Anonymous Bet’ and enter the deposit address you used to make the bet or your receiving address that you inputted when placing the bet.

3. As an anonymous bettor, can I reuse the unique address given to me when placing a bet?
Yes. This will place another bet on that same option.

NOTE: If you do this after the bet deadline, we will send the coins back to your originating address automatically, taking out the bitcoin miner's fee.

4. As an anonymous bettor, what happens if I send less than the minimum (0.005) to a bet address?
We will send the coins back to your specified payout address automatically after 4 confirmations, taking out the bitcoin miner's fee. Please note that we will not send back anything less than 0.0001 after miner fees.

5. What does the Time Multiplier do?
Simply put: the earlier you bet, the more is your share of winnings. The starting multiplier depends on how far the bet is into the future and goes down to 1.000x by the bet deadline. The multiplier is 1 + (0.005 * # of hours between the current time and the bet deadline).

Here’s an example:

A bet has 2 options: “Yes” and “No”. “Yes” has volume of 1 - “No” has 0. The bet deadline is 200 hours into the future (time multiplier of 2.000x).

You bet 1 on “No” (at the 2.000x time multiplier). Your ‘time-weighted’ bet value is 2.000 * 1 = 2.

On the last minute before the bet deadline, someone else (a last-minute bettor) also places 1 on "No", but at a late-time multiplier of 1.000x. That ‘time-weighted’ bet is worth 1.000 * 1 = 1.

Let’s say “No” wins. The amount to be split between the 2 bettors on the “No” side is 1 (total volume of “Yes”). Since you both bet the same amount but you bet at a 2x multiplier, you will get exactly 2x more of the opposite pot than the other late bettor. Your payout is calculated as follows:

(your bet) + [(your weighted bet) / (total weighted volume on your side) * (total volume to be split among the winners)].

In this case, it’s 1 + [(2 / 3) * 1] = 1.66666667 will go to you, and 1.33333333 will go to the late bettor. Note that for simplicity, fees are not included here.

6. What is ROI?
ROI (Return On Investment) shows your payout relative to what you put in as a %. If you deposit 1 and get back 2, you've made a 100% ROI.

Your ROI is calculated as (Total Profit from resolved bets / Total Placed within resolved bets).

7. Can I withdraw my bet once placed?
No. Please be careful and don’t bet on things you don’t mean to. Allowing this (dynamic betting) is being developed though, stay tuned!

There are two exceptions:

If you are the host, you can delete the bet and get the coins back ONLY while there are no other bets placed. As soon as someone else places their bet, you can no longer delete your bet. Please report your bet or contact us. We'll be adding an automated option to do this soon.
The bet becomes invalid (impossible or unfair to resolve). These bets will be cancelled and all coins returned with no fees. Please report bets that become impossible to resolve. Please note: anonymous bets that get refunded will incur the miner fee (0.0001 BTC).

Can you go into more reasoning over why you are giving Anonibet A-? As legend_ points out, there are some suspicious circumstances that makes it possible to conclude that they may be shady / scamming. I am not judging right now, but you should investigate and update ratings if appropriate.

I'm not going to change the ratings on DirectBet or Anonibet since there hasn't been enough posters speaking up to warrant it. Jetwin will get an upgrade.

Can you go into more reasoning over why you are giving Anonibet A-? As legend_ points out, there are some suspicious circumstances that makes it possible to conclude that they may be shady / scamming. I am not judging right now, but you should investigate and update ratings if appropriate.

A downdgrade will be reconsidered if another instance arises. I'm not trying to avoid your question but I'm not sure what happened with the contest. I contacted both Michael and John Barnes. Then I read the facebook pages. I don't want to play spokesman for Anonibet so I'm going to leave their rating as it is right now. The same goes for DirectBet.

Peeps Place will never downgrade Anonibet from the top spot no matter what.

That's because Anonibet is paying him to promote them in forums.

This is not a true and honest ratings guide but rather a disguised paid advertisement for Anonibet.

For more details : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=393147.msg7714802#msg7714802

Peeps Place should put a disclosure in the opening post that this thread is a paid advertisement, otherwise it's misleading.

We can't read the threads of each book daily. This thread was intended so that matters with all books could be brought to our attention. We need input from posters to do this. The thread has alerted players to 4 scam books before they went under. Players have been paid here because the dispute between book and player was brought to this thread.

DirectBet is not going to turn this into his personal thread and has been deleted from the ratings.
