It's good that the coin is running again but I'll hold off on updating for now. If the rate has dropped prematurely it's a bit hard to explain the vision for this coin to anyone interested in the concept down the line. I rather it isn't altered for the sake of a quick fix.

It is not altered in the calculations - we simply fixed the bug that was preventing the coin from moving onto the next phase. The 15% phase is a little earlier than participated from the programmers 1 year timeline; however is on time per the overall minting mathematical calculations.

Much like Bitcoin increasing in difficulty based on demand - Mintcoin is increasing in difficulty based on demand.

As a community we should take pride that Mintcoin has reached the annual goal of blocks created early and celebrate the next milestone in our history.

I agree..... it is working again and that was the first priority. Now that it's working it can be tuned up as needed.

Thanks RoboGuy

Hi Guys,
I just got the message - new windows version updated to the website for both dropbox and google drive downloads.

Also would someone please (pretty please) test the bootstrap file (download from the website as well) and let me know if it works - I just updated it a week ago and will update again today providing it helps.  (Under download wallet is a link to the bootstrap file)

Finally - we have windows - looking for mac & Linux builds.

Please pm if you are able to assist?

Thanks everyone -

RoboGuy -
Thank you so much for making this a priority and working with the community to get it resolved.

Make sure it is very clear to everyone this is a mandatory wallet upgrade. Also can we have confirmation once we know the exchanges are on the main chain?

just started the wallet with the bootstrap.
1st thing is a reminder that the 1st run of it  (on Windows 8.1 and maybe 7) will trip windows security and av/firewalls as well.   Suggest posting a reminder to run it 1st time in admin mode.  There will be some that get confused by those warnings.  I have clients that do get confused by those security warnings.

Will update with further info ....

Can anyone offer a simple explanation to someone with very little knowledge in this area how to get the wallet working again?

If testing confirms (which it looks like it shall),  here is what to do. 1) download new updated wallet and also the bootstrap. 2) backup the wallet (in windows 7 & 8.1 it is in the %appdata/roaming/mintcoin directory). 3) delete everything except mint.conf, wallet and it;s backup. 4) extract the bootstrap to where the wallet is. 5) Go to where the mintcoin-qt file is. Right click and select run as administrator.

The bootstrap file is not needed but will speed up the wallet sync process.

What is the latest version number of the Win wallet and where to get it?
mintcoin.cc points to mintcoin_win_v1.4.zip
Is this correct?

Yes. It's the right wallet - it says 1.4, but it's the correct one.

I downloaded the new client but did not redownload the blockchain. The wallet is minting, block 1051812.

How to check if it is on the right chain?

Hi, I'm on Wallet 1.9.1.  I opened it up to backup, and now it says I'm up to date and on block 1051878.  Am I ok to just leave it alone?

Not if you want to mint coins.  Old wallets will work for sending and receiving transactions but if you want to mint coins and support the network you need to update to the 1.14 wallet.

Hi Robo,

But old chain can be used, am I right?
I did some test for ZEIT - no problems so far. Looks like a seamless switching.

Cheers,
Ray
