Just donated 1 Million MINT to http://www.multifaucet.tk/index.php?faucet=MINT

This increases the 12 hour payout to 50 MINT currently.

Happy new year all ! Keep on minting...

Status: 11 confirmations, broadcast through 6 nodes
Date: 06/01/2015 00:54
Debit: -1000000.00 MINT
Transaction fee: -0.10 MINT
Net amount: -1000000.10 MINT
Transaction ID: 8e9ac98e3afa218f1f6e2d2e1e91b51f3198fdf21e02d46a4e0c09b22571160f

P.S. I plan to pass my freemintcoin and the reserve account over to cryptomommy or the foundation in the next week or so (I meant to do that a while back and forgot about it). Looks like the script got stuck, so I'll make good any outstanding requests first.

Cheers!

Per Investopedia:
DEFINITION of 'Capitulation'

When investors give up any previous gains in stock price by selling equities in an effort to get out of the market and into less risky investments. True capitulation involves extremely high volume and sharp declines. It usually is indicated by panic selling.
After capitulation selling, it is thought that there are great bargains to be had. The belief is that everyone who wants to get out of a stock, for any reason (including forced selling due to margin calls), has sold. The price should then, theoretically, reverse or bounce off the lows. In other words, some investors believe that true capitulation is the sign of a bottom.

Direct proof-of-work Mining ended almost a year ago. I am not a miner myself anymore, (quit a long time ago) but I think there may be a multi-pool out there that pays out in MINT. I know there used to be 2, one I think dissolved but I think there is one still going. Not sure though, maybe someone else can confirm as there are some Mintcoiners that may be using it.

When I started my wallet today it stopped responding. There is a line in the debug.log that is confusing me
Code:
Error: Couldn't open socket for incoming connections (socket returned error 10047)
Can anyone help me with this issue? Thanks.

Here is what I found
Quote
WSAEAFNOSUPPORT 10047
Address family not supported by protocol family.
An address incompatible with the requested protocol was used. All sockets are created with an associated address family (that is, AF_INET for Internet Protocols) and a generic protocol type (that is, SOCK_STREAM). This error is returned if an incorrect protocol is explicitly requested in the socket call, or if an address of the wrong family is used for a socket, for example, in sendto.

EDIT: I deleted the conf file and wallet started as usual. Strange ...

Danger Posed at POS Coins by CryptoDouble

Everyone says they are just a Ponzi Scheme,

What if they are really a Trojan Horse.

A Way to Kill POS Coins by mounting a 51% attack.

A POS Community starts sending their coins to Cryptodouble,
And keeps sending them back until they have 26% of a coin,
CryptoDouble then buys up only another 26% and they then control 52% of the coins total amount, then they could hit the coin with a 51% attack and destroy the coin.

Something all POS Communities should consider before sending POS coins to cryptodouble.
Smarter move would be to only send them POW coins, if you are Gambling with your coins.

 Cool

FYI:
If the Exchange Volumes don't increase , then they already have purchased 26% and are waiting for the communites to give them the rest.

"then they could hit the coin with a 51% attack and destroy the coin."

FYI .. we're trading for 1 Satoshi .. "destroyed" doesn't do it justice ..
Potential for a 51% attack is the least of our problems ..

Triff ..

Danger Posed at POS Coins by CryptoDouble

Launched Dec. 20th.

"Double your coins in just 100 hours with CryptoDouble.  Follow 3 simple steps."

Also, "no fees"

btctalk user cryptodouble has a -17 trust rating.

I'd suggest not sending them any coins.

Trustworthy exchange that offers lot of coins that are underground, but suddenly become big. Most recent example is Gamerscoin.

If it was easy, everybody would be doing it
