Anyone interested in Mintcoin may also be interested in Blackcoin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=469640.0)

Based on the same concept, it switched from proof of work to 100% proof of stake 12 hours ago. Price has risen only 10% so far, I suspect because the proof of work miners are dumping the last of their coins. It's a smaller coin with a smaller community than MINT... if nothing else I am watching it to see how it handles the 100% proof of stake and to see what happens to the price.

Also, blackcoin has no premine and all the bounties are clearly listed and organised.

Hi

Anyone to help a poor sod? Basically, how do you import a wallet after reinstalling?
Quote from: wylie99
NOTHING seems to be working.
Before I completely delete the whole wallet, will this work?
Backup the wallet...
Put in a safe folder somewhere...
completely delete everything else related to the wallet...
re-install the wallet...

Will the new install ask if I have a backup?

OK, I just tried installing the wallet on a different computer, but it didnt ask for a backup, and it didnt find my backup in the same folder.

Now WHat???!!!

I'm assuming you have the back up already.

1. Click Window start button, in search field type "folder options" and open it, now under view tab check "show hidden files, folders, and drives. Click apply and close.
2. Open the User folder on the computer where your new wallet is stored. Open files in following order, appdata, roaming, Mintcoin. Now simply remove the existing wallet.dat file to the recycle bin and replace with your backup wallet.dat. Close all files and start Mintcoin. You should be good to go.
NOTE: If you named your backup wallet.dat anything other than wallet.dat, you must rename it back to wallet.dat. You can do this by clicking the file once, then right clicking and scroll down to rename.

I'm going to bed now.

got 4 transactions in wallet - Generated but not accepted Mined. Waiting game for these coins or do I have to do something?
Same here... Of the 17 transactions posted to my wallet from POS 4 of the have been generated but not accepted. Is there something I am doing to create such a high failure rate?

No, it is like mining, someone beat you to it.
So does that mean I don't get a 20 percent return on saved coins in my wallet but only a chance on a 20 percent return? Thus in reality it will be much less. am I understanding that right?
Eventually you'll get your 20%. The coins you unsuccessfully staked still maintain their coinage.

Has anyone noticed there are several accounts posting in this topic all registered recently that are trash talking Mint? Brokedummy signed up today and all he's done in his 5 posts so far is trash Mintcoin.

We had classic Gingermod/manonmoon and now we have these newly registered sockpuppet troll accounts?

Hi,

Following a discussion with bjmillican4, I decided to create a tutorial as simple as possible

How to mine mintcoin

I'd like your input. My guideline was "it if is not necessary, don't include it". You tell me if I forgot something really necessary (it seems that there is no need to create a conf file anymore, for instance)

Monero: the first crytocurrency to bring bank secrecy and net neutrality to the blockchain.HyperStake: pushing the limits of staking.

I left my wallet open for one hour and these appeared. It appears I have been given back-pay. So if any of you have not received minting that have been here since day one then I suggest you leave your wallet open for an hour or two.

Nice design, I hope the devs add multi-wallet.
Please explain multi-wallet.

HoboNickels has multi-wallet.

Multi-Wallet
Support is built into the HoboNickels-qt wallet application for loading and unloading multiple wallets. This allows you to use wallets for different purposes such as: mining, spending, running stake and storing securely offline. In this way you can organize your needs and strike a balance between the need for security, spending and the creation of coins.

http://wiki.hobonickels.info/index.php?title=Multi-Wallet
Isn't the possibility to create multiple address enough to qualify as a multiwallet?

what does mintcoin have to offer? it is just a cheap clone ( peercoin, velocitycoin, blackcoin, others...? ).. with 700 million? premined. Interest rates suck... cuts off miners... has only some faucets and a little bit of community. We will see what will happen... its a green coin in such a way that everyone will leave. Yes, that makes it energy saving. Good luck.

Hi. David Latapie
What we want mostly is android wallet. It is the most important.Hope soon.
Thanks.
Now that PoS will become the main way of obtaining mints, I agree. I added it to the wishlist. Notice there is a bounty for the android wallet.

I would like to apologize for my behavior earlier today in response to deadmanwalking's reply to my post.  I also want to personally apologize to deadmanwalking for the insults I directed at him.  It was rude and there is no excuse for my behavior.  It doesn't help Mint and it doesn't help other users of the forum.
Very few people on this board are mature enough to recognize their mistake and publicly apologize. Kudos to you!

So any suggestions for the best profitable currency to mine with my 1.5 MHS rig? I really want to get more into mint but it's too hard to mine so I'm looking for something to mine to sell for mint.
Join a multi-pool. https://coinex.pw, or something like that.
Middlecoin, Wafflepool or Clevermining (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=259649.10320)
You can also lease a rig on http://leaserig.net/ or http://www.betarigs.com/. This way, you don't have to worry about letting your computer on or choosing the right coin. You are basically outsourcing your mining completely. Brokered mining! I am seriously considering this, since I have a pathetic GPU.

1. Choose a rig to lease (compare the cheapest rig/hash on both leaserig.net and betarigs.com)
2. Choose a multipool (coinex.pw, middlecoin, wafflepool or clevermining - I don't know how to compare them))
3. Convert to mintcoin
