The bootstrap "should" sync a new wallet in about 7 hours versus 3-5 days.
Waiting for official feedback...
The new wallet syncs faster in general. I would say it is syncing at twice the speed.

Even though that will mean around 2 o'clock in the night for me, I'm writing a paper for my Master so will still be online for that

Mintcoin Community Update Is Now Ready for Release! Download your new wallet from the Mintcoin website and enjoy faster load times, recurring transactions and more! Bootstrap is now in beta as well. A special thank you to Xander Axerto Pandenius Shepherd for taking the time out and walking me through this process. http://mintcoin.cc/mintcoin-press-release-oct-25th/Great! Will test the bootstrap file. Testing here as well - will report. Mine has been loading for a while now, but I think it can take as long as half a day, so will wait. You any luck yet? It's looking to me like it's going to take roughly 1.5 hours - not at all sure though. You can watch the progress by watching the file size increase in the blk0001.dat file. It should be roughly the same size as the bootstrap file when finished ... I think.

New Wallet Looks Great , Well Done to the Programmer, Started downloading the blockchain from scratch, once I have it completed. I will make you a blockchain.zip download that you can just copy into the C:\Users\"[username]"\AppData\Roaming\Mintcoin , it will update the blockchain as soon as it is copied in, no wait time. You can then either point to the link or place it on your own download site to help new mint users. Future idea for the next wallet version, on the recurring send , have them try to set a schedule for it . Basically send at a recurring Date & Time instead of a every so many days. Like at 10pm on the 15th of each Month and one like every Monday at 1:30am for examples. Again Nice Job.

Question on New Wallet What is the txleveldb directory for and why is it filling up with *.sst files? Will the wallet automatically clean up these files when no longer needed or are these files to be left alone? Thanks. FYI: Just want to make sure this is not a bug that will fill up the Hard Drive space with *.sst files.

This this coin dead??? or !! WHY DO YOU NOT HAVE A WORKING EXPLORER? WTF ARE YOU DOING?A team of people is working voluntarily to keep this coin going. A simple block explorer like this ( http://multifaucet.tk/index.php?blockexplorer=MINT) works, so better to focus on other things. I just want to say, I appreciate the hard work of the team and they should know not to listen to negative people. That's a block crawler not a block explorer (try to view the transactions by a single wallet address and follow them across the blockchain), it's really bad to have no block explorer, some exchanges won't even let coins that don't have a full block explorer onto the exchange. It may be being worked on which is good but still...

Block Explorer Upgrades: -- --- We would like to add a rich list and search by address functionality

Hi Dogetime We did have two very nice explorers. One stopped working a long time ago and the other one - the developer came to me after the prior mintcoin developer left and wanted to be paid for the block explorer again as the last time he was paid was not enough (.2btc I believe) This time he wanted more BTC to keep the explorer up. Since then I negotiated a monthly fee to keep it up while we work on building a community owned explorer. The community has not paid him so he took down his explorer which is ok as our developer team just finished securing the hosting we need for an advanced explorer with search by address features as well as a few additional whistles. I hope this answers your questions sufficiently & do apologize for any inconveniences. The block explorer is the last loose tie from the handover of the community.

It will be nice when it goes online again. With deserted coins, block explorers often have some skeletons in the closet, so it would be nice to see if there are some here. Once it is up, I'm gonna take a look at those first couple created blocks. Awesome support again, Cryptomommy! Btw, I have a fully synched wallet now, after just on night of deploying the bootstrap file. The wallet is very complete and even contains the possibility to do recurring payments. Have not seen that before.

I have had a few people take a look at it because #1 looks odd - but everyone who has checked it has confirmed its an exchange Also I am curious to what is happening with the Mintpal exchange coins.

FYI: Just want to make sure this is not a bug that will fill up the Hard Drive space with *.sst files. Response from RoboGuy: Those files are sorted tables, the are required by levelDb. If the cleaned out the old wallet files it will no take any more space than the old files.

Stop Mining. Start Minting. Mintcoin [MINT] 5% annual minting reward. Mintcoins don't wear out like mining gear. They keep on minting!
