This question even still difficult to answer because altcoin usually have riskier value rather than bitcoin.
Personally I'm prefer on altcoin that on top 5 coincapmarket or seek the local and try to observe the ICO on your country
At the moment I'm owning TEN,BCH,and ETH
I don't know much about ten but maybe I will buy bch later because I see that bch can be a good option to invest besides of ethereum. I still waiting for ethereum price to get down for more so I can buy more ethereum. besides that, I still want to buy another coin like ada, trx, waves, str, stratis, neo but I need to think about how much I will buy because I don't have much balance right now. |

The alts below $1 is not worth investing and there is huge chance of incurring loss. So, I will suggest you to go for potential coins like Eth, Ripple, EOS. Choose these coins you will earn much hopefully. They are really popular and their growth is satisfactory too.
Well Ripple is below 1$ . Price doesn't mean anything. It's the market cap that matters, and what can you do with that alt, why is it different from other alts etc.. Altcoin is so increased and very capable to be reliable in the future to be an advantage by owning it. such as on Ethereum which became the major recommendations coin for future investment. so it's great to have Altcoin like this and become the main advantage going forward. |

If you want to hold an altcoin that costs under $1, you should hold XRP Ripple. I highly recommend it.

each altcoin has a different potential. in a long period of time, it is certainly great results if you want to be patient and hold. under $1 is probably an altcoin that still has good potential. Ripple is probably the most interesting in my opinion if looking for potential altcoin with low prices.
