I think constant increase in supply of 1 314 000 000 per year at four years later is not a good idea; might be the reason not getting many interests of miners, may be not if I am wrong. But anyway, no limit in the amount is really contrast to any other coins. Usually before mining a coin, I think about the ratio what I have mined to the total supplies, and see if this is a reasonable number. Can we modify this so that get coins halved/reduced with a certain rate, and fix the total supplies?

In the 5th year it's only a supply increase of 2.6%, which is VERY low. There-after it decreases [as percentage] each year. It will only be 100 billion after 40 years. That's aeons away for such a project.

The reason why this is done, is that for 80% of altcoins, after they've mined most of the supply, transaction fees won't ever be enough to keep miners involved with the community. Effectively killing most altcoins. 5000 per block is small enough, but more than potential tx fees in the future to keep miners involved. In other words. Demand has to grow by more than about 2.5% a YEAR for your coins to retain its value. And that is entirely doable. 4 years is A LONG time in crypto.

We hope to have you on board. Smiley

I did have mined Funk for a while, initially 10M something a day and now nearly 30M a day because all others have gone, except me Smiley (so something like I'm sole mining). I am still mining and do hope I will keep mining for a longer time, whilst the price is really low now.

I've been on and off mining it - managed to get myself about 450k total, but yeah not much interest yet. Need to build publicity and get some unique features planned.

n00bnoxious implemented a tipbot! It seems to be running perfectly fine on Reddit now.

http://www.reddit.com/r/thecypherfunks

It is /u/FUNKTipbot. Stress testing for a day or two, but seems to be epic.

I suggest we start going to /r/thisisourmusic and start giving constructive advice (most important) and then giving a tip as well.

And yes. Some new stuff is planned. Been thinking today of a music player where anyone could verify with their soundcloud and connect a wallet. It's then like a random player. If you find a great song, you can tip FUNK. But I'm so bogged down with other stuff, I'm not promising anything soon with regards to that. Wink

I'm digging the new website and I'm glad the reddit tipbot is up! Will be tipping funk a lot in the near future Smiley

Now time to work on a new logo!!

Myriadcoin - the first multi-PoW blockchain! (Mine with SHA256 [ASICs], Scrypt [GPU/ASICs], Skein [GPUs], Groestl [GPUs], OR Qubit [CPUs/GPUs]).

Winning! For what it is worth, I quite like the current logo. Simplistic and signifies the hashing [crypto], the music note [band] and the extended red F [FUNK]. But it is not my place to decide. This is a decentralized project. Looking forward to what you come up with! Smiley

Is tipping staying in-house during testing, or shall we start spreading the FUNK already?

It seems robust enough. Start spreading the FUNK!

Epic time today. Was live on the news in South Africa discussing cryptocurrencies and Cypherfunks! Included screenshots of Cryptorush. Wink

I'll upload the video when I find it!

Here's a pic from it: https://twitter.com/Fredericklutz/status/446614591737323520/photo/1

Ha, nice screen capture there!   Cheesy   Lets see how the tipping works out.. I still have some to tip, but not a lot of time to go through threads and be constructive.. so I'll mostly have to leave that to others.. but I'll help when I can! Lets see if the song base can grow even more as well as get somebody to collect some of the bounties on the packs... and start spreading the funk...

On the Reddit, maybe make a sticky post with the links to Soundcloud and the bounties for packs.. that way it's the first thing new visitors see?

Sounds like a good idea to me - something that allows people to very easily see what's going on.

Is anybody interested in the concept of having a built-in Cypherfunks player in the wallet for SoundCloud stuff? Qt's HTTP libs and markup display options are great. If so I may look at issuing a pull request. Should be pretty easy to grab the data and embed into a wallet page via the API.

Been thinking about that too. But more as a separate player. In terms of UX, not entirely sure how great it would be if it is IN the same software as the wallet. I was thinking a website where-by all Cypherfunks songs would be played at random with a FUNK address tied to click. Clicking it opens up the wallet and you can tip?

Either way! To experimentation! Smiley

@vaudvaud: had the bounties sticky up for a while. But I'll put it back up along with a smaller FAQ [like r/bitcoin basically]. Good idea!

The reason that I say in the wallet, is it instils the concept of cryptocurrency - that the local wallet is where you should be managing your finances. I feel like FUNK is in such a nascent stage and aimed at predominantly non-crypto-geeks that anything that can decrease people's likelihood to store their fortunes of tippables in a centralised server wallet is a good thing. We've all seem the number of hacks left right and centre, and increasing understanding of good operational security in a clearly understandable way (by getting them involved with the wallet software immediately) might be a way to go... Just spitballing ideas here, so feel free to fire at will ;-)

Also we need a thin-client wallet to really increase adoption, but not until we have a fairly expansive master node network I don't think.

I like the idea of in the wallet player, I agree that would tie it to the coin pretty good,... but a separate player with tipping function would be cool too.. Maybe both?

I've actually made some pretty good progress with accessing the Soundcloud API and scraping Cypherfunk submitted tracks, so I've got some interesting ideas - first of all we can use the scraper to update all sorts of locations with new tracks - like we can make one that will auto-post on the Reddit thread and Twitter when someone releases a new one... Long as we don't let it spam everything up.

Sorry that I haven't replied yet. Internet's been down the whole day (and still is). Typing this on a shitty phone browser.

I like where this going! Will reply fully once I get my damn Internet back!

Auto tweets and Reddit updates would be cool - would keep things moving without much intervention.. it's pretty stale on Reddit, not a single new post since the tipbot one (and that was mostly us talking).  Anything that keeps people interested and coming back is good., but like you said don't want to be spam'n it either.  Once enough music is out there then Radio Cypherfunk!  24/7 streaming..  Grin
