- NO THX, sending error message only, doesn't help.. get on slack.. describe.. someone could help you..
Why slack must be a center of all happenings, why do we have this forum for? We can talk here and all evidence are here any one can find all information stored on one place. Slack is good but doesn't have endless memory storage, also scrolling content is little boring. It would be very wise to bring more activity here. I agree with this. Slack info is fleeting.

Frankly we have near to no trolls there and barely anyone reads masses of stuff on this forum - it's even more disparate than Slack. This is clear when we get pages and pages here of the same questions. Slack isn't the be-all-and-end-all, it complements this forum, as does Reddit. There's even a Telegram channel. If you want to be completely in the know with those who prefer to hang out in a troll-free environment at least separated into channels, take it upon yourself to dip into each. If you're not bothered enough to do that, that speaks more about your level of interest than engaging in the conversation. Essentially it is not a lot of effort to just idle in a Slack room.

I could see a dedicated Blackcoin forum being useful for organizing various work and projects. A single thread on bitcointalk has limited utility, especially when most the people on Slack don't have an account here. Occasionally news is posted here, but it seems mostly like a trollbox, it doesn't seem all that useful.

I don't mind trolls. If they're home-trained I may even adopt one.

I’ve created a simple Haskell application that lists burnt coins (in particular those created using the recently introduced “burn” command). It is named burnt-explorer and theoretically should work also with other Bitcoin-derived cryptocurrencies, though currently the blackcoind binary name is hard-coded. Using that tool, the following message can be found in the 9ba558c64985d8452f4f65f47ea873d360e22e5697dcf6185125c4cbfaf4855b transaction: “Big shout-out to janko33 for bringing Blackcoin to the 0.12 codebase |blackstat” Besides the source code, a compiled Linux binary for 0.1.1 version is available (for 1 BLK).

This forum is not as limited in its breadth of audience, every post appears on google for example. If we are part of a product wanting for it to propagate across the world, you want the ear of as many as possible even the entirely accidental viewer who knew nothing about blackcoin or even crypto. Especially you want those who wouldnt otherwise know or recognise this brand beyond a passing name in list, its pretty important in that respect. A dedicated forum for more specialist talk sure but thats not the audience, most people will never have a clue what the heck is behind btc or blk or any other protocol its just what it means to them personally. 36 threads had replies in the last 12 minutes for this sub section, for comparison of traffic. Growth has to encourage the plebs if anything, I must be one of them as every time my wallet stakes it never appears on the block chain explorer so I'm in disconnect somehow but its not apparent with any error. I guess I'll post a debug log on slack or search a previous similar problem but I do think its beneficial if people can get an answer here also, because the audience is different and we dont want to turn anyone away. This is active https://www.reddit.com/r/blackcoin/ 40 viewers currently Ive added it to my shortcuts because I always miss it on my feed where this thread does pop up for me, my fault no doubt I added some BLK here as Ive failed in various market many times to add to a rising price and most I had is from 2016 which is good as I used btc to buy computer parts. I presume BLK is in a consolidation range. In the medium term its kept a positive trend, its not as neat as btc can be which I might upset some people as btc is volatile but it does follow chart patterns often anyway BLK short term is sideways which is fine also hence my add. BTC keeps a positive trend medium term. https://i.imgur.com/xXGlgzvg.jpgThis sums it up

Agreed, slack is horrible for bringing traffic. We need more posts here because they show up in search engines forever.

Nope, no idea. Though I keep hearing about this OKcash, seems like minimalist version of Bitcoin, kind like the idea. What do you think guys? I'm thinking about buying some.

I think stake halvings as OKCash uses are a pretty terrible idea. For PoS dispersion is especially important and by incentivizing early hodling the coins don't get distributed well.

Yeah, that maybe, but doesn't change the fact it's a good coin.

Slack is fine and is indexed in search engine, there is a bot which does it on purpose, everything you say will show up in search engines forever.

And it is also a channel where those who do not know blackcoin can have access to a lot of information, we always have the help and attention of veterans janko33, blackstat, and the others (are many) . I learn a lot there. We need to attract more people to Slack. Is more dynamic

How is the stake/harvest working? should I just put minimum amount of BLK's on my wallet and I can an annual fee's? Do I need to keep wallet open ?

There were hundreds of thousands in 2014. We bought, sold, exchanged. All blackcoins that we have consumed.

There's no minimum required to stake, but because each coin has an equal chance of staking, a low amount will stake less often (still proportionally equal on a yearly basis) so it's likely to take longer before you see the first stake. And yes your wallet needs to be open at all time to be eligible for stakes. You can still encrypt it so it's still safe, but you can't lock it.

There are 1.5 each block, and anual interest are, depending on network weight (all staking wallets), 1-8% That means, you will get that percent of your balance per year as block reward. There is no minimum but if you had, let's say 150 BLK and there is 1% interest, you'd get one block per year, with 1500 BLK 10 blocks and so on. However at the moment the reward is more like 5%, so 150 BLK would create like 5 Blocks per year.
