still no work utility   d'oh forgot the --scrypt

Also this seems to work OK for 10 miners but over that kernel panics the Pi.

Added a powered hub into the mix, looking much better   Fingers crossed it stays like this

I pushed a change and updated the binary to add nonce generation per chip. This gives some assurance that you don't have any completely busted chips.

I built your code from github, it is working fine on my pi.
The Accepted shares are off for some reason on the interface.
I also monitor the cgminer with the networking API and there they seem to be correct.
Not sure where this might be hidden in the code , but if I have time later, I might take a look at it.

Ok, some standard questions to be sure we have the same config:
Do you have your pi running at stock frequency ?
Did you add additional parameters to your modules configuration ?
What is your cmdline.txt

Mine has crashed twice with spurious interrupt errors, killing the miner and taking down the pi alltogether.
I'm running with these options : baud=115200,freq=850,chips=5,modules=1,btc=0
The pi is on a powered usb hub, I've been using these hubs for my pi's for ages and not seen any issues.
The miner is on a dedicated 12V powersupply, that allows 5A, so don't see an issue there neither.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Try running this as root via sudo:

sudo ./cgminet -o: pooladress -u user -p password --griseed-options=freq=850

I created /etc/udev/rules.d/50-stm32.rules with the following:
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="0483", ATTR{idProduct}=="5740", MODE="0664", GROUP="plugdev"

Then if you add your normal user to the plugdev group you can run cgminer as non-root. You might need to tweak idVendor/idProduct based on the output of lsusb.

On my devices the vendor id is the same, so the plugdev file should be universal.
Did you have success on frequencies above 850 MHz?
I noticed you put a voltage section in the configuration, that sets some voltage on gpio5
Is this documented somewhere else ? I looked in the datasheet but couldn't find anything there, neither in the gridseed cgminer version on github.
Where did you find this additional information ?
For now it's running stable on my pi @850MHz for 3 hours and my pi is clocked at default frequency.

Sorry for the off-top but is there any software used with GRIDSEED (except I guess cgminer for SHA mining) allows for failover pool configuration... I went through all the threads but could not find any reference on that, especially when used with controller board.

Again, sorry if this question has been answered already - could not find it.

Single mode is 6W 12V .5A max 10W 12V .84A dual mode is 60w 12V 5A max 100W 12V 8.4A so I would say the 7AMP recommendation is SPOT ON for providing max needed power for dual mode!

So if you are running in Scrypt mode we can safely say 1Amp/1,000ma provided will be a standard number and plenty of power for scrypt mode.

Once cablez finalizes a standardized design he will be able to send out a lot of orders pretty quick.

Interestingly I've noticed there is actually a slow decline in work utility until it hits a threshold where it just stops submitting shares at all.  Work utility degradation starts after about 1 minute.

Going to get the multimeter out now.

Not sure I got the question right...but what I am using is a Raspberry Pi (with Scripta) and D-link USB Hub where I plugged a gridseed 5 chip miner (I believe you could plug more units...but I have only one...sadly!). Is not my cgminer...is Andareed version!
