I was wondering if anyone else is having issues syncing their wallets currently? I've had 0 active connections and tried changing the config to all the various versions. If someone could help me figure this issue out, I'd really appreciate it! I'm trying to get Edu prepared for the twitter giveaway but cannot get it to sync sadly.

Hi Adatrader,

Have you had a state when the wallet did sync, or is this the first time you are starting up the wallet?  The trickiest part is the .config file. Make sure it didn't save accidentally as a .config.txt file. This happens in the Windows platform quite frequently.

If you want to re-install, make sure you have backed up your wallet and secured the wallet.dat file somewhere else. Then delete the root folder and the application data folder. Restart and re-install.

If the problem is still active, please share more details here like what actions were taken, which platform your are using (Win/Mac/Linux), etc. Good luck!

Do you know where and how set up a educoin.conf?

I'm actually experiencing the same problem as the other poster. I attempted to add the forkpool/multipool pools as nodes previously after not establishing a connection through the official nodes after a solid day of idling as well, but not working. Firewall disabled, no antivirus, cleared appdata after wallet backup, multiple config edit attempts, no success. In addition, I tried the same steps at a local internet cafe on their computer to verify my computer/firewall isn't causing the issue, but same result. I'm quite capable of dealing with various wallet issues but can't manage to establish a connection. Any technical assistance would be greatly appreciated, and tipped generously.

Forgot to mention, I think the concept of incentivizing people to educational games by using an educoin reward would be outstanding. I personally have a 15% of my Educoins set aside for these purposes and would definitely donate to keep the affiliate educational game site wallets full. I also can't imagine it being a negative aspect of their website to utilize this reward system, as it would be donated for free and provide them a marketable differentiation strategy (paying kids for learning). It's just a matter of implementation and I personally have no insight in that department but hopefully our hard-working devs do!

If the developers could reach out to those individuals, I'm sure our great community will continue to be as supportive and gracious towards donating as they've done so up to this point. Would really help bring awareness to Educoin and might potentially get us some media slot time.

First of all, thanks sp00lin9 for bringing this to our attention! Since you mentioned how much EDU you are willing to contribute to fund experiments and adoption strategies for EDU, I want to take this opportunity to put out some guidelines for miners. Considering there are more than a few miners who have several billions of EDU I sense their frustration of not being able to realize immediate profit. That is not what we were about from the beginning, so I apologize if large EDU holders feel they have been drawn into this real coin's mission.  But all is not lost, there is something more effective miners can do that offers everyone a win: Instead of holding and waiting, give some away.

The key challenge to increasing EDU value is the adoption of EDU by target end users (students). The current distribution of EDU looks like this (see illustration below).  Miners can change the situation by rapidly investing a percentage of their coins to fund students, schools, and education non-profits. When more coins from the top 60 billion+ go down toward students, the more things will start happening: from a markets standpoint, and most importantly, real changes can occur in education. That's something to feel really good about! Let us not sit on the sidelines, expecting someone else to do something that you can do for yourself. Look at the suggested guidelines below and please feel free to participate if it makes sense for you. For those investors who bought all their EDU, that is somewhat different and the choice is yours.
