CharityMiningPools - Donate to Charity while you Mine!

pig.charityminingpools.com

Be a pioneer and help us get started, come mine while making a difference.

Mandatory 0.5% donation fee goes to the BitGive Foundation this month.  We welcome and encourage you to donate more to a good cause.

STRATUM, VARDIFF, Datacenter Redundant Server Farm, Load Balanced Servers, Frequent Backups
0.5% Mandatory Donation fee to a Good Cause, 0.5% Pool Fees, 0% AP TX Fees

Who Are We?
CharityMiningPools was created to allow miners the ability to mine coins while still knowing that their hashing power is going towards something good.  Our goal is to provide a positive and reliable service while delivering a small portion of the proceeds to a deserving recipient.  Plans are in the works to allow individual miners to choose where they would like to donate to based on a pool of available recipients.

How Does This Work?
All coins minded at CharityMiningPools will require a mandatory 0.5% Donation fee.  This donation fee will be collected and donated to the designated charitable recipient for that given month.  Though we only require a minimum 0.5% Donation fee, we welcome and encourage our miners to raise the stakes and donate more to a good cause.

Cheers!

You can win some in our piggyfacts game http://www.piggyfacts.com/ !

We are planning on adding a scoreboard to the flying piggy game. I was thinking of a weekly scoreboard with payouts to the best ten players of the week. Will be coming soon!

I just stumbled upon another crypto blog/news site called The Cryptocoin Chronicle:
http://cryptocoinchronicle.blogspot.com/

I sent the guy an email inviting him to check out the Piggycoin new website, with more fun, games and educational features on the way. Basically just said that we were not a typical pump and dump currency and that our goal was to become the "Bitcoin for Kids." (and to please consider writing a review, article, mention, etc about us)  I noticed after the fact that he is also a contributing writer to cryptocoinsnews.com and he had a few articles published on that site as well. So if anyone else finds a possible source for news, please feel free to contact the writer with a similar inquiry- or let me know the site source and I don't mind following up as well. The more PR we can generate, the better!

INCLUDING PIGGY TETRIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice one ... this coin really needs some more hash though.

Can't understand why the difficulty is so low, good for us miners, but word needs to get out more.

Any comment on the scrypt ASICs coming out?  Other coins seem to be discussing changing the algo to something else like X11 or keccak, etc ...

KNC Titan will be doing minimum 250 Mh/s for $10k  Shocked

I really do like the 'Bitcoin for Kids' angle, as that would fill a huge niche and make us stand out from the crowd.  If that's the case, changing the Thread title may be appropriate to something more catchy, Ex.

Changed the title and I've been reading on this algo thing. If we change I think X11 is the way to go.

Good to hear you guys are thinking about the algo...

I think the best way to do it is the same with the block change, choose like 3 different algos you like and get the community to vote.  As that is a big change you'll definitely need some time to do it right and test it out, but Im confident you will Smiley

I'm not so sure the choice of difficulty algorithm should be put to a vote... The majority of people here are not computer scientist and will have very little idea of the complexities, benefits and potential pitfalls each algorithm will bring. I'm all for a democratic community you understand but this should a decision made by the expert(s) aka the coins lead developer(s).

Yep, it's a technical decision, live it to engineers  Cool

Seriously, I'll all in for the change, and I prefer X11 - but I'm not that confident that the community should vote it either.

But since the devs will do what they think it's best, there's no harm in having us discussing it and get to know the community's opinion - it's not like it's mandatory, it's just consulting one of the main stakeholders Grin

In essence, evaluate and consider the option, review all available algos, do a poll to get the community's opinion or something ... and then just do it. We'll support you and the coin will enjoy further growth and longer sustainability.

True my intent was more to get community feedback/opinions on algos that they'd like, of course the devs will have the final say & will do whats in the best interest on the coin ...

I don't have a clue how changing algo's and all that works, but if it was possible I think an approach like MyriadCoin would be incredible.
