To the first question, just use a remote control software like logmein.com , it can let you access the entire PC or VPS from a Tablet or Phone.
Building something like that directly into the wallet would be a security issue best if we avoid.

You are correct, there are some countries like Haiti where almost everyone has a cellphone, a web wallet would be there only shot at having a staking wallet.
At the moment the infrastructure for trusted web wallets , that won't disappear at a moment notice is still not available.

Looks like there was a glitch in coinmarketcap reporting software giving the appearance of a 5000% increase.

After a little closer inspection, there was a spike in price at 1 exchange with ~$104 in volume, which should have been less than ~40% of the current volume,
but the glitch in their system caused it to report that 1 exchange as 100% of the volume which maxed the marketcap up to 22 million.

Short Story , Price Spike - Glitch - Coinmarket reporting for ZEIT is offline until they reset it.

2.  Poloniex has Banned the Entire Population of New York from their exchange.

3.  Poloniex has Margin Trading , which preys on the dim witted to steal their money.

4.  Numerous discussions in the Altcoin Discussions forums about Poloniex faking trading volume.

5.  They give monero a favored trading status, when it has no real adoption and even its own dev has magazine articles commenting on how monero will probably fail.

6.  They seems to have BTC wallet freezes at very busy time. (Like Cryptsy used too)

7.  Poloniex is unwanted and unneeded.

Poloniex is a fantastic exchange in my opinion. They have always been very speedy to address any of my concerns. Comparing polo to cryptsy isn't right in my opinion.

That is great for you, but the rest of us can't even get a reply back so you can see how that forms a different opinion.
There was no need for the fee changes except to help fake trading volume.
But we will know for sure in ~76 days.

Here is how the Nav Team Currently feels about Poloniex.  

The Development Team can always switch off the servers  for NAV 1.0

We don't have a lot of Patience left for Poloniex.

Why can't we dump Poloniex? Bittrex swap was 6 weeks ago. Is Big Vern now running Polo?

SWITCH OFF the NAV 1.0 server ffs! Polo has made a profit from not upgrading and its not like we have net told them. I even got banned from the toolbox for 2 hours for asking them to upgrade to 2.0. Those sneaky fucks know exact;y what they are doing and we should piss on there chips for a change.

you guys need to calm down, you need polo more than they need us, just be glad they fixing it soon.

That's what people used to say about Mintpal.  If they can't upgrade their wallet after six weeks then screw them.  They seem to be sliding into the pre-Mintpal or Cryptsy implosion phase.

Kind of a Sign the Nav V1 that was being replaced by Nav V2 ,
got pumped on Poloniex so much the V1 cost more than the V2 that is replacing it.

I agree with kiklo here. Poloniex is very overhyped by many in this forum.
To tell you the truth, I don't know why. They are #1 in terms of volume among altcoin exchanges, but #2 Bittrex is not much worse (if you look at the altcoin volumes exclusively).
Poloniex has also margin trading (maybe that is the reason?). And I guess that would be it, on the positive side.
The drawbacks were already mentioned, so I don't want to repeat that. I gave up trading alts there, and I don't care if ZEIT will be listed there. (btw., they seem to not like the big coinage coins).
