I suggest to hold Ethereum, binance coin and bitcoin since they stay on top and was already proven. Assets going up and down in value has absolutely nothing to do with the cryptocurrency world in specific. That is the case for essentially any asset in this world. The only thing that is different about cryptocurrencies is the speed at which up and down movements take place. But if I understood everything correctly the London update is not supposed to improve scalability. I think that is what most people are waiting for, low transaction fees. That is supposed to be done with the next update, but that one will be far in the future. As far as I know Vitalik Buterin said that is not going to happen before late 2022. As he is conservative usually with his deadlines, I hope an update that improves scalability will come even earlier.

It's been 3 years from year August 2018 and finally ethereum is back with a new ATH, now I believe that in crypto patience is one of the most important recipe for your success. Many investors now regretted for not buying ethereum and bitcoin on year 2018 when price of this two top coins is on dip. Some of them is buying that time but they maybe sell it at loss because they are lack of patience, so for now the best strategy is to buy and hold and be patience.

It will remain the main issue for the developers forever as there is no solution that will allow for unlimited scalability if I understand the current core protocol correctly. They might be able to steadily improve, but with improvements grows demand and the question is whether demand will always outgrow improvements. I have no idea as I am not sufficiently deep into scalability software solutions, but this is how I perceive the process kind of.

What I just noticed after hardfork is transaction fees almost doubled or much higher and eth burning is really high already million dollars worth of eth already burned in just few days eth supply will become scarce in the next years making price go higher because of demand once scalability problems resolved.

I am hoping that the OP is checking the market after 3 years of posting this thread. He was worried 3 years ago as eth was about USD 400+ only. If he kept his eth and just store it the whole time, he is about to gain 7x of its value 3 years ago. And it seems that it will still grow in the next coming months. If we finally experience low gas fees, I can say that it will boost the usage of eth network and so its price.

currently Ethereum continues to increase and I also read a lot of news about increasing users that's why I really believe that the price of ETH will be very high in the future especially now that they are slowly solving the problem. if the prediction of the price of ETH at the beginning of the new year according to my prediction, I will make a new ATH maybe it will reach 8k or more.
