And what does that link of the Western hate propaganda against Sochi in particular and Olympics in Russia in general have anything to do with Crimea? Sochi, which is a regular seaside city got a fair share of investments, besides new events are organised there also after Olympics.

It's an example of how money were waisted during the preparations for the olympics. As for "Western hate propaganda" - it's strange that almost every western democratic country is able to see the scams and embezzlement of resources when the olympics in Sochi were held.

Well, yes, there were embezzlements, and they were also strongly criticized and exposed by the Russian press. Alas, it's almost become a sad rule that out of the allocated money, over 50% is expected to disappear in bribes and favours.

As for Crimea, it would be foolish to expect that something that was ruined and left in a more more more deteriorating state for almost 25 years would be repaired and everything will become wonderful within a few months after reunification.

Russia needs to rebuild the most critically run-down objects of infrastructure and buildings (in other words, practically everything), and with so much focus on the region and with Polonskaja keeping a stern eye on the region, I don't think embezzlements will be quite on the Sochi-scale.

Russia needs to rebuild the most critically run-down objects of infrastructure and buildings... but not only in Crimea. There are many other cities in Russian that needs restoration but no one is paying attention to them (at least not enough). Today Crimea is in the limelight so of course there will be some investment to show people of Crimea that joining Russia is a good decision. But in a long term its not so obvious

A small knit-pick: not "joining Russia", but "re-joining Russia".

In the rest I agree with you: There are a lot of disregarded places in Russia that need investment and rebuilding.
Crimea, however is not in a danger of losing investments in the longer run. It's had a very important strategic position for Russia for the past 300 years, and it's not about to change. Add to that that it's one of the few affordable Southern seaside places (Sochi being the other one), where "normal people" can go to for a holiday. With a federative structure (as opposed to the centralised one of Ukraine), Crimea will see a much larger portion of its income staying on the peninsular. All this gives Crimea a bright future.

...All this gives Crimea a bright future.

I would still be a bit pessimistic about the "bright future". After the second Word War many countries fell under the "protective wings" of Mother Russia. After couple of decades those countries were able to free themselves from the Russian influence (maybe not in 100%). Those countries, to this day, cannot catch up to the western civilizations because of how Russia was managing them.

Let's differentiate between Russia and Soviet Union. Russia itself suffered greatly from the Soviet regime. Crimea is actually a case in point.

it has been proven that the Crimea result was faked. There are now reports that any public speak of rejoining the Ukraine within Crimea has been made illegal. Not to mention the wiping out of Ukrainian as a recognised language within Crimea.

fake? proven?
In Russian forum(https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=91.0) every Crimeans (those who have been registered at this forum before the Ukrainian events, not new accounts) are positive for reunion with Russia.

The Voice of America and Gallup made their own poll in Crimea and the results match the referendum. The survey, was funded by the US government's Broadcasting Board of Governors, which operates Voice of America.

By the way, Washington, in the face of Poroshenko (Valtsman) still cannot accept the fact that Crimea has already been returned and demand that it's returned:
http://www.gazeta.ru/politics/news/2014/06/26/n_6261241.shtml
Poroshenko declines any possibility of normalisation of relations with Moscow until Ukraine re-steals Crimea. I can only see one way out of it: dismantle Ukraine. Problem solved.

This year's Mjelis will for the first time be conducted outside of Crimea - in Herson region. Ukrainian authorities hope to involve the more radical-inclined Tatars in fighting in South-Eastern regions. The training camps in Crimea have been closed down, and some of the Crimean Tatar radicals are pulling into Ukraine:

Good news and "bad" news.

The good news is the boom of marriages in Crimea:
http://rusvesna.su/news/1404389083
The number of marriages doubled in May and still continues to grow.

International Aviation Authority (ICAO) acknowledged airspace over Crimea as Russian:

And the "bad" news.

The newly-appointed Unkrainian Minister of Defence is self-assured in success of the punitive operation in the East, and also promises that the next victory day will be celebrated by Ukraine in Sevastopol:

Russia agrees to open gambling zones in Crimea, Sochi
http://rt.com/business/170476-sochi-crimea-gambling-zone/

Quote
The Russian State Duma has approved a bill to establish gambling zones in Crimea and Sochi. It's aimed at making the areas more popular for tourists, and attracting more investment.

The exact location of the gambling zones will be determined by the local government, ITAR-TASS said.

Chief of Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that Europe should stop thinking about Crimea and sanctions against Russia. He says that Crimea is de-faco Russian and will not be going to Ukraine for at least the next 10 years. Ukraine, according to him, should postpone this question until 2024, or else World War III is imminent.

However, he said that de-jure they are not intending to acknowledge Crimea as Russian.  Roll Eyes

http://russian.rt.com/article/40164

I wonder what is planned to happen in 2024. They hope that by that time Putin's tenure in the office will be over and that the next Russian president will make a Khrushjov-like gesture?

So, what the Foreign Minister of Luxembourg said, is actually that they are actively working to install a Western puppet in Russia after Putin is no longer the President.
