Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Meh, 1050s still turn a slight profit. I say add on, not replace.

What are you guys mining with the 3 Gb version in Windows 10 besides X16R which is a good addition to latest Nicehash and makes about 0.40 USD per card, I know it sucks but you can't expect more from a 3 Gb version now, with Zcash being totally dominated by the ASICS.

I am also afraid for the first time since I started mining that this maybe the end for SOHO-Small Office/Home miners. I hope I am wrong.

you are not wrong. In fact, the ones who are wrong are the ones that think the contrary. BTW, i've been saying this for almost 3 months.

BTC no more than 6k by end of 2019. ETH no more than 300$ by end 2019. Huge market manipulation, huge amount of scammers and hypers.

To be honest, there is no point in switching to the maynith for this algorithm.
This is the main mistake novices. The first days of profit, then the profit decreases due to the increase in the ministers. Then maybe it will be even smaller.

In this way, it is advantageous only to mine new little-known coins.
Any change in the algorithm in 10-20% of cases causes malfunctions during the operation of the equipment.

I try not to change the algorithms with a slight change in profit

Always keep mining, and hodl the coins,<<HOLD ON FOR DEAR LIFE>>
The very first time the term HODL appeared on the Bitcoin talk forum was in 2013 and came from a member named GameKyuubi under the thread “I AM HODLING”. The price back then was around 900usd. The price in  14. january 2015 was 198usd,Bitcoin price hit all time high just below $20,000 - December 18, 2017

Thought you were selling your cards if you have not sold them all off already.

I am about to get a 3gb card locally for pretty cheap so $0.40 per day on this new algo of x16r available on nicehash is not bad.

Just now it all depends on how long it will last and to see when it will be a card to discard in the trash when  3gb is not acceptable to use for the dag file any longer.

This is a good GPU for mining even now. If you want to mine Ether, use Windows 7 or Windows 8 / 8.1. This will be possible for several months more. And then all the cards will not have a big profit due to Constantinople hard fork.

From my experience, Palit Dual 3GB had Samsung memory (sold in 2017).
Palut Dual 6GB as the ones that i have are all Hynix. So if you buy, find a way to test it before that.

As for complete overclocking and undervolting guide for Nvidia, see here:

ethereum still works in linux/hive.  Moved a few to Monero now....though performance is weak

5-600h/s per 50W is decent. But all coins are not profitable at the moment.

Clean looking calculator, but consider adding the RX 550 and RX 560 to the AMD card selection as those have proven to be very economical performers on Ethash and CN.

Nvidia released an updated model of the GTX1060 video card with 6 gigabytes of more efficient GDDR5X memory and a stripped-down chip from the GTX1080.
The memory bandwidth of new models with GDDR5X memory is 58% higher than that of the old cards, which makes it possible to hope for a significant increase in mining performance on the Ethash algorithm (Ether, ETC, ETP, UBQ, EXP, and others).
New video cards cost 20–25% more than old models, have similar power consumption and theoretically have 40–58% better memory performance than older models. GDDR5X memory theoretically can be overclocked up to 12 thousand Mbps, so the performance of specific samples of video cards will vary significantly depending on the installed chips.
When using the ETHlargementPill tablet, we can hope for an increase in the hashrate by 40-58% compared to the GDDR5 video memory (I think 30-31 Mh/s). This will not be fully achieved due to the reduced memory bus width (192 bits), but the performance gain should still be substantial.

Although the new GTX1060 model with 6 GB of GDDR5X doesn’t have performance of GTX1080, it is a good choice for miners due to improved performance of memory useful on almost all mining algorithms.

I think that the new cards will demonstrate decent performance and high hashrate due to the use of more efficient memory and the core of the GTX1080. They will not give improved power consumption, but will increase profitability due to higher frequencies with the same consumption.
