Yes, Hynix has bad timings. Hynix usually also do not go beyond +600. Samsung can go up to +1000. If you have set your cards to +1050, this could also explain bad performance, if the clock is too high, ECC correction will take place which then drops performance. I have my 8 Samsung running stable at +800, did not test any further...

6x PNY 1060 6gb  (VCGGTX10606PB) - Micron

ETH: 134mh/s  (~23mh/s ea)
SC:   1404mh/s (~234mh/s ea)

Afterburner Config:
PL 50%
Mem +625
Core +140

750mV draw per card.  Can't up the mem clock anymore on these.  I'm satisfied though.  Very low power draw (per afterburner) for the output I'm getting.  Pending a killawatt readout.. will update.

Problem #1
The OS lags a lot, even when no miner is running. But when I start mining, the OS becomes extremely unresponsive and crashes anytime within 10 minutes to 2 hours. Especially harsh on windows, I don't even have to start mining, it's enough to open USB drive or do any other task and CPU usage jumps to 100% on one core, saying it's being used by system interrupts. And then it gradually mitigates to second core as well, and then it freezes up.

If it's across OS's it must be hardware related. As others mention a combination of mobo which doesn't have many PCIE slots and using a multiplier could be confusing the system – have you got the most recent version of the BIOS installed? Also FWIW I'm running Windows 10 and my rigs lagged majorly with >6 cards until I increased Windows virtual memory to 64GB (maybe overkill but it worked).

Problem #3
On linux, unable to overclock if IGD is enabled, some kind of problem with nvidia settings - xorg.conf file. Have to disable the IGD and connect the monitor to one of GTX cards. This is very inconsistent, sometimes I get different results, as it looks like BIOS is behaving weirdly - sometimes IGD sharing still works, even if it is disabled, but then it gets stuck on boot screen, while GTX proceeds in to displaying normal desktop GUI.

Not sure but I've seen some discussion about xorg.conf issues over in the NVOC thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1854250.0 but I'd advise reading through it before asking if you're not using NVOC.

As of todays, I still see a lot of people with 1060, but not with P106-100, seems like the price of P106 is not attractive.

Simple answer: what will you do with P106 afterwards? No one will buy it. Regular 1060 can be sold and still used for gaming.

Hello,

I'm sure this has been discussed already, but thread is too long to read and search did not come up with anything useful. So here it goes.

Have a rig with:
1x MBO MSI B250M PRO VD
1x DDR4 4GB
1x Celeron
8x Gigabyte GTX 1060 OC 3GB Windforce
1x 256GB SSD on USB (also tried 16GB USB pendrive)
3x PCIe expanders 1->4x from aliexpress
1x 1.5kW server PSU.
OS: Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 17.04, Kubuntu 17.04, Windows 10 x64 - same results
Linux drivers tested: v375, v384. Windows - latest driver.
Mining ETH with Claymore's miner.

Problem #2
I only get 15.7 MH/s per card stock, and max 18.9 MH/s OC to +100/+1000 MHz.

---

Has anyone tried this motherboard? It has a B250 chipset and should support up to 12 PCIe devices. Problem #1 and #3 does seem like a hardware problem, since i get same results on both Linux and Windows. I have adjusted PCI latency from 128 to 224 clocks with minor improvement.

Problem #2 is probably a driver problem? I have tried v375 and v384 on linux - same results. Should I try v372, like suggested by Claymore's miner?

- Is mining mode enabled in motherboard BIOS ?

- Did you upgrade windows virtual memory to 16 000 ?

Exemple : Increase Virtual Memory

In search type “This PC“, right click on it and choose “Properties“
Then click on “Advanced System Settings“
On “Advanced” tab where it says “Performance” click on “Settings“
    Click “Advanced” tab
At the bottom you will see “Virtual memory“, click on “Change“
    1. Uncheck “Automatically manage paging file size for all drives“
    2. Check “Custom size“
    3. In the “Initial size (MB)” type: 3000 (or directly 16000)
    4. In the “Maximum size (MB)” type: 16000 (or more like 20k)
    5. Click “Set” , then “OK” and “Apply“
    Restart the rig

ref : http://1stminingrig.com/best-windows-setup-configuration-tweaks-for-mining/

------

- Have you tried your rig with only one GPU first to see if the problem is the same ?

- Is the claymore version you are using is among the latest ones ?

- Have you tried one gpu mining on other miners and other algorithms to see if your results are low as well ?

------------

Yes, setting up a rig at first is a real time killer, but once it's done and you've met the sweetspot, it's really worth the shot.

Haven't heard of this issue - even with the Hynix memory like suggested above (although I have no personal experience with Hynix)

Here are people using that card with success:
http://www.pyramidreviews.com/cryptocorner/mining-gpu-speed-and-price-comparison/ethereum-mining-speed-gpu-comparison-for-gtx1060-3gb/

Also, may seem obvious, but if Claymore (who built the miner software) suggests something, why WOULDN"T you do it?

I have a GTX 1060 rig with EVGA SCC 6GB cards.

I have overclocked settings of
Memory +950 MHz
Clock -100 MHz
Power target of 45%

I'm running around 23 MH/s using about 70Watts per card.

Hello there, I have a 1060 rig

Core Clock = 0
Power Draw = 80w
total pwr draw = 550w inc motherboard, psu

Fans = 65

1x Samsung Memory +1700 = 24.6mhs
4x Micron Memory +1300 = 23 Mhs
1x Hynix Memory +600 = 18 mhs

Now my question is, will OC'ing this high will have an effect on the life span of the cards, i dont care about 3 to 5mhs as long as my card works fine in the long run, cant be bothered one right it burning down lol
