I admire his courage, and I see that he gets online from time to time means he's still OK.

Be strong, they don't know what bitcoin is, they think it's just digital money, they have no idea whats comming..

You are not alone.

We stand with Bitcoin.

just because he signs in that only means that he is alive, and sometimes being alive is worse than being dead.

Are you a guy that would kill himself over a loss of some fiat money ?

I hope he's OK and this thread does not get him down, but merely logging in does not prove he's OK. Believe it or not Mark Karples still logs in as MagicalTux. If you check his profile link below it shows he logged in recently, although his last post was a long time ago. Mark Karples might have money but I doubt he's a happy man.

Who knows if he is happy? I would guess that he is not happy but he may feel relieved that mtgox disapeared because he doesn't have to fight and lie anymore.

Give the guy a break. We don't even know his situation. He might, for example, still have other family members' houses he can sell which would allow him to cost average his buy-in prices.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but given the time frame he had stated, didn't he sold at around the $640-$670 range? If that's the case, then he's kinda fcked up and worried right now. Probably not a good idea in the first place.

Nah, OP sold @$640.

Didn't saw him posts that he sold his bitcoin though. It seems you're close friends Tongue

He stated it in the OP, and given the time that he posted this on March 2014:

When the house closed on Friday I got approximately 648 BTC for my house which is based on prices over the past 6 months when the deal was actively negotiated, legal fees, realtor fees, and a bunch of contract wording that I frankly don't understand.

Yes, it is, but what if he is right, Bitcoin rise up to 100,00$ and he becomes a millionaire? All people here will praise his success and say I'm regret not following him. Nothing succeeds like success.

He had been here last month but didn't talk anything form last June, may he is OK.

It's all relative, many of us that were playing with piles of BTC when they were worth a few cents didn't think they would break $1,000 one day...
