Take the 2017 Rejection of the Gemini ETF by the SEC. People were basically 110% sure it was going to be approved, they did analysis of which personnel visited the SEC offices in the notes. And it basically started a rally where it broke the previous ATH for a little bit and it turned out to be a rejection and price crashed a little. Only to recover a few days after.

I think is ok to buy on rumour but if comes bad news then maybe the price is not so good and not all will sell when news coming. If ETH goes to PoS then i don't know if the price will be what is now.

While buying the rumours is a strategy that has been known for a very long time it is really difficult to execute it correctly because the most important thing about the rumour is who generated the rumour itself? If the rumour comes from an authority in the world of cryptocurrencies then it could be worth to buy some coins but if the rumour comes from a person that is not recognized in the world of cryptocurrencies it could be a better idea to just wait for the price to move.
