Not sure how the locals are taking it but for a cricketer this is very much insulting. They could show him some respect. This was too harsh from my observation. I know he had some very bad times in recent times but things could be more beautiful if they could do something different like let him play without the pressure in his head.

Remember Sachin had this same pressure when he was captain but once he was taken off from the position he got himself back.

Sachin was Sachin and he is really masterblaster but here we are talking about Sarfraz I am also feeling bad for him but right now we have big problem Head Coach and Bowling Coach both don't like him so now his career is in limbo I believe in PCB most of things happen just for personal ego or personal like dislike and Sarfrac is current victim of this.

True. No one should forget that he was the reason why:

-the team won the Champions Trophy 2017 with India in finals.
-the team won the under 19 world cup with India in finals.
-the team has been ranked as the number one in the T20 ranking for the last one year.
-the team came back quite strongly in the 2019 ODI world cup.

Really today is my bad day because I was loss around 45usd worth of trx coins on placeing a bet between Scotland VS Singapore  matche in ICC world t 20 qualify in last two over cost the match for Scotland because of they are loss the match by 2 run and congrats to Singapore .

I was thinking about placing a bet, but then found out that the ICC had decided not to live stream the matches. And I never bet on matches which are not being broadcast on TV or YouTube. I was thinking about placing a bet in favor of Singapore. My bad... if I had went ahead with my plans, then I could have got some very good returns. Singapore is the same team that managed to defeat Zimbabwe a few weeks back.

So we had two upsets on day 1, with Scotland losing to Singapore and Oman beating UAE. The second one was not much of a surprise, since the UAE is facing some internal issues right now. Three of their key players (Mohammad Naveed, Shaiman Anwar and Qadeer Ahmed) were recently suspended for attempting to fix matches. So they are fielding a weakened squad.

That's not true. You can watch them on Hotstar and I believe they are telecasted on Star Sports Network if I am not wrong.

My bad. I found out that some of the matches are being shown live on Star Sports 3 (only in Indian subcontinent) and for the other matches, 30 minutes highlights are available. And perhaps this is the reason why the ICC is not live streaming the matches. Star has the broadcast right to these matches and therefore only they can stream these matches live.

As UmerIdrees pointed out, yesterday I watched all the two matches which were available on Star Sports 3 (Jersey vs Nigeria and UAE vs Ireland). It was the first time I was watching a match involving teams such as Jersey and Nigeria and to my surprise they were fielding 100% local sides with no expat players. Jersey won the match by a good margin. Imagine this... a tiny island with a population of around 100,000 defeating one of the largest nations in Africa (population of 200 million)...

I found a Youtube Channel which has broadcasted t20 Worldcup Qualifier Matches, you can use them to watch if it's not broadcasted in TV (your locality).

As I said earlier, Star Sports 3 is only broadcasting some of the matches. Yesterday, they showed 2 out of the 5 matches and today, they covered only one match. I checked Hotstar as well, they are also not covering the matches that are not shown LIVE on Star Sports 3. This is one of the disadvantages in giving the TV rights to Star. They will show useless Kabaddi matches LIVE, but they never care to cover cricket matches involving the smaller nations. And ever worse, they won't allow anyone else to stream these matches as well, as they hold the TV/Web rights to these matches. Star Sports is having close to a dozen different channels in India, and it is disappointing that they are not covering most of these matches.

In between, hotstar and few other OTT apps also covering some matches where there is no equivalent satellite coverage for example last India-Sri Lanka- Bangladesh tournament (I could not recall the name exactly, it was like Natas trophy or something).

Yeah.. it can be very difficult to find out which channel is covering which tournament. And this is the situation in India, where we have multiple broadcasters available in the cable TV network:

1. Star Sports: the giant out there. They have more than a dozen channels in India, including at least 6 HD channels. They hold the right to broadcast ICC tournaments such as the ODI and T20 world cups. And more importantly, they hold the broadcast rights for the Indian Premier League as well. 4. Youtube: With rising interest in live streaming, a number of cricket boards have made live streaming in YouTube available.

There was a discussion earlier here that UAE is fielding a weaker team because of match fixing scandal and so on and i was confident that Ireland would defeat them easily even with a full team, but UAE played a spectacular match yesterday restricting Ireland to a modest score of 125 runs and UAE chased that with 3 overs to spare, i really wonder what the odds would have being.

It was not much surprising. UAE is heavily dependent on Rohan Mustafa and he played a crucial part in the defeat of Ireland. They made use of the home advantage as well. Ireland on the other hand, is going through a rough patch. They had a disastrous test match against England this year, where they were bundled out for just 38 runs. And some of their key players have made themselves unavailable, in order to play county cricket in England.

You really cannot compare the bowling line up of England and UAE  , Ireland had their veteran players like Kevin O'Brien and Paul Stirling in their team and the rest of the members are not familiar with me but if their key players are not playing for the qualifiers and they fail to qualify what is the point, not sure how the board will view those and allow the key players to play country cricket and may i know who these key players are.

This is a huge margin considering that It’s joy the best team of UAE and still they could easily manage to win the match by sparing 3 overs is a significant thing. This would boost up the confidence of the other players and team management as well.

They restricted the Ireland batting lineup and did not give away runs that easily and with a small total to chase the UAE players was able to do that easily, anything above 140 i think UAE will find it hard to chase as they always fall under pressure.

Well I think most of the region will cover this event. Sponsors really waits for time like this in every four or two years what ever the time gap. Anyway, I have it in my region and truth is these days you really do not need a tv LOL

Its good to see that the T20 world cup is becoming like the Football world cup with a lot more teams playing for a spot in the T20 world cup finals. I've been watching some of these matches that they do telecast and its good to see so many different countries now playing cricket. One team that has been playing well is PNG but today will be a big test for them as they play Scotland, I would like to see this match but not sure if it will be live streaming.

I've been watching some of these matches that they do telecast and its good to see so many different countries now playing cricket. It is more or like football world cup selection but you cannot match or compare that in any way,T20 will promote cricket like they never had in the past and good to see that there are more countries embracing the shorter version of the game and started having competitions and small tournaments for a while and now we are seeing teams coming up from many countries and it is a sign that T20 sparked the interest in people.

I think that he was mentioning about players such as Tim Murtagh, who chose to play for Middlesex rather than representing Ireland. From this year onward, the Irish players are counted as overseas players in county cricket and they need to retire from international cricket if they want to be counted as local players. The only player who has chosen Ireland over county cricket is Paul Stirling. He was associated with Middlesex for more than 10 years, but retired from county cricket when the management asked him to stop playing for Ireland. Boyd Rankin was lucky, as he managed to sign as an overseas player.

And it should be remembered that the best player Ireland has ever produced (Eoin Morgan) was stolen by England without giving any sort of compensation to the Irish board. Now many of their star performers, such as Tim Murtagh, Stuart Poynter and Peter Chase have decided to go for county cricket rather than representing Ireland. Cricket in Ireland will never be viable if this situation continues. If their best players refuse to represent the national side, then how are they going to be successful?

You really cannot blame the players, they will select the teams that give them the maximum benefit and after the sport is all about making money with what they know and that too in a limited period of time as sports have a limited period of time where you can perform. If you take all the qualifying teams that play in the T20 tournament majority of them are expats.
