Teams are finalized and surprisingly i don't see big name such as Chris Gayle, Malinga and Rabada. anyway here is complete list of players who get picked by 8 teams (price bracket included).

^^^ This is going to be a very exciting tournament for sure. And I am surprised that players representing smaller nations, such as Sandeep Lamichhane (Nepal) and Mohammad Nabi/Rashid Khan/Mujib ur Rahman (Afghanistan) managed to find a place in the squads. Even Netherlands is represented (Roelof van der Merwe and Ryan ten Doeschate).

But the most surprising is the influx of the Kolpak players, including Dane Vilas, Rilee Rossouw, Hardus Viljoen, David Wiese, Kyle Abbott (the same bowler who retired from international cricket in protesting the quota policy in South Africa), Marchant de Lange, Dawid Malan, Jade Dernbach, Leus du Plooy.etc. Imagine what could happen if all these players make themselves available for South Africa...

^ Yeah, i am looking forward to it. though it didn't receive good response in Social Media from die hard county fans let's see what happens. I hope BCCI comes with similar thingy in future atleast for domestic players apart from Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Afghani spinners and Sandeep from Nepal are in demand as far as any Short-format leagues are concern. Good for individual players who get to sign Kolpak deals and reaping the benefits but SA's skipper raised concerned about these Kolpak deals recently.

I have a doubt here, i am seeing this Kolpak deal, what is that actually and regarding The Hundred, is it a parallel league like the Big Bash and the IPL. Why is there any Indian players being selected nor any other Asian team members in that team but Afghan players are selected.

Well.. if I am not wrong, then Indian players (including the domestic players) are banned from taking part in the T20 leagues which are being run by the other boards. Only the retired players are eligible for such tournaments. If you remember, Yuvraj Singh retired from international and first class cricket, before signing up for the Global T20 tournament in Canada.

A few other Asian players are there in the tournament apart from the Afghans. I could see Shadab Khan and Mohammad Amir in the list, and they represent Pakistan. There is not much room for the international cricketers, as only 3 are permitted in each team (as opposed to 10 for the IPL). May be they'll increase this number in the future.

Well.. if I am not wrong, then Indian players (including the domestic players) are banned from taking part in the T20 leagues which are being run by the other boards. Restricting domestic players is too harsh as they will gain experience if they are playing in these tournaments so the BCCI wants to promote IPL and nothing else and if all the cricketing boards starts their own leagues and restrict them to play elsewhere we would see an IPL event with only Indian player .

There is not much room for the international cricketers, as only 3 are permitted in each team (as opposed to 10 for the IPL). May be they'll increase this number in the future.

Even in the IPL only four foreign players are allowed in the playing eleven. So there are restriction on how many foreign players you add to the team, these tournaments might help young talents and it might help groom the young talents.

Almost impossible to predict now. More than half the matches have been completed in the group stage and even now there are no front-runners. There is so much competition between these 14 teams and all of them looks evenly matched (perhaps with the exception of Bermuda, who looked hapless out there). Nigeria also doesn't have any points, but they have played well till now.

In the Group A, the Netherlands is on top with 6 points, while the other 5 teams have 4 points each. So it is very difficult to predict which teams are going to qualify. My guess is that Netherlands, Scotland and Namibia will finish as the top 3 teams from this group. Group B is even more difficult to predict, especially after today's defeat from Ireland. My guess - Canada, Oman, and Ireland.

As far as i understand Kolpak is a residency rule which comes under Europeon union, this rule allow athletes (cricketer) to participate in county cricket (English) with one twist that they can't represent their home country. that's why we see cricketers from another country migrate to England. South Africa losing good amount of domestic players because of this. Brexit might sort things out in this regard.

BCCI doesn't provide NOC to any Indian players. which sucks but when you look at big picture then its smart move from BCCI.

As per the latest estimates, around three dozen Kolpak players are currently active in the county system, and all of them have joined the county teams after retiring from the international cricket. Simon Harmer and Kyle Abbott are perfect examples. These two players have picked up an unbelievable 394 wickets in county cricket during the last 3 years.

After their pathetic loss to India, the South African captain (Faf du Plessis) was blaming the Kolpak system for the death of cricket in his nation. This quota system and political involvment is really killer for any country or sports and we have latest example of South African sports they was really on top just few years ago but now too much involvment and colored players is bringing them down they need to think about this or have to done some home work before implementing law like this now they need nearly one decade for coming back on top.

We are having another eventful day with the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifiers. Today one of the tournament favorites (Netherlands) lost to Papua New Guinea. In other matches, Nigeria lost to the United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong managed to defeat Canada. Group A is still looking very much indecisive and other than Bermuda, any of the other 6 teams can qualify.

The last match for today is Bermuda vs Scotland. If Scotland manage to win this one, then they will be in a position to qualify to the semi-finals. That said, in the other group Ireland is looking to be in a lot of trouble. They have only 4 points from 4 matches, and there are three teams with 6 points each (Canada, Oman and UAE). For Ireland, qualifying for the next round is going to be tough.

Seems Dhoni is not in Team management T-20 WC plan anymore, as far as i remember Dhoni wanted to play in T-20 wc. Truth to be told Dhoni needs to speak about his retirement plan asap, may be everything is behind the curtains or we can only wait for his farewell game?

It is really unfair to do that to Dhoni as majority of the Indian fans want to see Dhoni in the team and give him a farewell as he is the first T20 world cup winning captain where he took a young team and surprised everyone by bringing home the trophy and that kick started the T20 trend in Indian and hence IPL was introduced and became a huge success, so give him a good farewell as a token of respect.

No its cannot happen because Australia is completely different team and at home they are very tough to beat Sri Lanka can give them good competition but Sri Lanka won like they won in Pakistan its not easy job.

I’m not surprised to see Indian selectors leaving their ex captain out, as this was done with their former Captain Ganguly too. What surprised me was Virat’s failure to take a stand for MS Dhoni, considering all the things MS Dhoni has done for him it’s sad he didn’t feel the need to give him a farewell match.

I agree with you Australia team is totally different compare to other teams, but I have seen that last t20 parties match happened between Sri Lanka VS Australia in that match Australian pmxi team bit disappointed to me, because of there is a one-man show from Australia pmxi team, and Harry Nielsen did a great job there.

I'm not sure how much efficient it will be if Dhoni plays the T20 world cup. It's better to talk about form/performance/fitness than any other things.
I barely have seen Indian players got a good retirement, they used to get a controversy usual, probably because they want to play as long as possible. Look back at Sehwag, Ganguly or even Sachin, none of them got a pleasured retire.

This seems to be quite difficult outcomes beacuse their is a difference between Pakistan team and OZ team. Though even if bangladesh is able to come near OZ or beat them in couple of matches it will be a great effort from them considering OZ is quite better when it comes to T20.
