Sri Lanka vs Australia first Twenty/20 is going on and Australian's have respect for Lankan's as they whitewash Pakistan just few days back 112/0 in first ten overs Finch and Warner are on top look like we are going to have 220 or 230 which is very big task for touring team.

They are 122/1 after 11 overs. Aaron Finch just got out after making a blistering 64 runs from 36 balls. The good thing is that David Warner is back in form, and is currently batting on 57 (31 balls). I expect Australia to make somewhere around 240-250, if they don't slow down. It is going to be a very heavy defeat for Sri Lanka this time.

Actually this match once again shows the gap between the big 3 teams and the remaining 9 test playing nations. Sri Lanka had recently whitewashed the no.1 ranking Pakistan 3-0. And see how they are performing against Australia now. The Sri Lankan bowlers look completely clueless and even the heroes from the Pakistan series such as Hasaranga are leaking plenty of runs.

You should not compare the Australian team with the Pakistani team.

Australian team is far better than the Pakistani team and Sri Lanka will not find it easy to beat them in this entire series.

Australia made 233/2 in 20 overs.

Absolute mayhem and bloodbath at the Adelaide oval. The Australian batsmen were brutal, and treating the Sri Lankan pacers like club cricketers. Some of the heroes of the series win against Pakistan have gone for plenty. Kasun Rajitha conceded an unbelievable 75 runs from his 4 overs (4-0-75-0)!!!!! Wanindu Hasaranga was the mastermind behind the series win against Pakistan. His figures stand at 3-0-42-0.

Nuwan Pradeep bowled a very good 19th over, else Australia would have easily raced to 250 plus. And one thing I liked about Australia was that although David Warner was so close to a century, he never tried to put his interests above that of the team. He was trying to give strike to Glenn Maxwell, as the latter was having a better strike rate. Somehow he got his century.. and congratulations for that.

It's really bad to see the SriLanka 14 for 3 wickets in 4 overs. I never expected this  will happen in first T20 match between Australia and SriLanka it's going to one side game. I think SriLanka will be  all out within 20 overs.

What an amazing century by Warner, it looks like he is back in form and its hard to believe that it was his first T20 century. Sri Lanka are struggling to survive and are looking like they will be bowled out before the 20 overs. Its been a poor performance by Sri Lanka but they do seem to play poorly in Australia so I'm not surprised.

Aussies won the match by 134 runs. Srilankans were completely dominated by the Aussies with both bat and ball. The fact that Srilanka can't even get past 100 in 20 overs shows how miserably they have failed when the Aussies managed 200+ runs.

"Why not have two innings of 10 overs each, so that Australia can win after enforcing a follow on?"

This made my day   Maybe we should look into the perspective

A very humiliating defeat for Sri Lanka. They finished at 99/9 and lost the match by 134 runs. The Australians literally destroyed them. And remember that during the next year's T20 world cup, Sri Lanka has to play in the first phase as well. Considering their current form, I won't be very surprised if they fail to finish among the top-2 and thereby being unsuccessful in qualifying for the next phase (Super 12).

BTW, very surprising match results form the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier. Papua New Guinea is in trouble at 46/6 against Kenya. Everyone was expecting them to win this match and secure an automatic qualification spot to the world cup. In case they lose this match, then we need to wait for the results from the other match to see who will get the automatic qualification spot.

What an amazing century by Warner, it looks like he is back in form and its hard to believe that it was his first T20 century. Sri Lanka are struggling to survive and are looking like they will be bowled out before the 20 overs. Not just Warner, the whole Australian side showed up a magnificent performance. This 134 runs defeat after shattering down at 99, shows how poor Sri Lanka has been lately. Sri Lanka is stuck on a downward slope after Sangakara and Jayawardhne's era. Australia showed close to perfect performance today. Only chances Sri Lanka will have in the next game, will be if they improve their bowling attack, possibly by bringing in Udana and Kumara (replacing Sandakan and maybe Rajitha)

56 Balls Century by Davy!! What an innings. Surely a statement for every team out there, speaking for how ready he is for next years T20 World Cup

True Indian team sucks in T-20 and  they are struggling to win any ICC tournament. if it continues then there are good chances of being chokers in the ODI. its safe to say Virat is not lucky captain when we talk about winning the tournament... be it ICC WC,CT or IPL same story

I admit that India is slowly taking over the chokers tag from South Africa in top ICC tournaments while South Africa is slowly moving down the rankings these days. However, I blame the rules more than anything else.

India is the no.1 ranking team in most formats as per the ICC official rankings. But when was the last time they won a major ICC tournament? I can't remember any during the last 2-3 years. T20 has been especially problematic for them, as they had a few high-profile defeats recently. And the last time India won the T20 world cup was more than twelve years ago.

I agree. It's high time that BCCI considers Rohit for Captaincy looking at his superior records as compared to Virat. No offences intended, but I usually compare Virat with Sachin, both are amazing batsman, great players, but Sachin couldn't do wonders for Team India under his captaincy. With a great IPL winning record, I hope Saurav Ganguly would now bring up the talks of Rohit becoming India's new T20 captain prior to next year's T20 World Cup

Apart from Malinga I don't see bowlers who are quite good. We have seen Warner struggling in Ashes against England's bowlers so not quite sure if he can perform against good bowlers.

When it comes to IPL, my support goes for Chennai kings under the leadership of MS Dhoni and i am guessing the next cup will be lifted by them. The defending champions, Mumbai looks strong too and high chances that they will reach last leg this time as well. My bets on finale between CSK and MI.

Under Ms Dhoni Chennai kings is the team to beat in the IPL and the ease in which they are winning the tournament is astonishing and the amount of times they reached the final speaks for their performance as a team and in the history of IPL they reached the finals eight times and none of the teams play with that level of consistency and remember they were banned for two years.

There are not much incredible bowlers in the world to terrorize batsman in the shorter format of the match, Warner was a bunny to Stuart Board and he is only playing in Test matches and the pitches made for T20 helps batsman and there is not time for swing too, so the format is made for batsman to play freely and only the best bowlers could contain the run flow. With a huge score to chase it is not easy for any team and Srilanka admitted defeat after giving away that much runs.

Under Ms Dhoni Chennai kings is the team to beat in the IPL and the ease in which they are winning the tournament is astonishing and the amount of times they reached the final speaks for their performance as a team and in the history of IPL they reached the finals eight times and none of the teams play with that level of consistency and remember they were banned for two years.

CSK also boasts the biggest fan following in the country. There was a video released sometime back which showed them following the CSK bus. Was insane. With Dhoni at the helm, CSK will continue performing well in the future too.

This is why rankings are not everything. Upsets happen and underdogs do win sometimes though Australia here was never an underdog to begin with. As expected, Warner(The beast) is back in form and Australia rocked that match.

A one sided match we had seen in this first T20 match and all the top order batsman made min 50 and this has boosted the opening of the series and for the OZ specially. SL would like to break the opening stand quickly in the second match else they would lose the match again.

The latest news from the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier is that Papua New Guinea has almost qualified for the 2020 ICC T20 World Cup. It is still "almost", because Scotland is playing the Netherlands now and if the latter wins by a big margin, then they have a chance of overtaking Papua New Guinea as the top team in Group A. As of now, the top 4 sides in Group A are PNG (10 points), Netherlands (08), Namibia (08) and Scotland (6).

In Group B, no one has confirmed their slot yet. The top 4 as of now are: Ireland (08), Oman (08), UAE (6) and Hong Kong (6). The remaining matches are Oman vs Jersey and UAE vs Canada. So the ranking can still change, but as of now it looks like Oman will top the group as Jersey is a very weak team. And this is how the tournament format works:

1. Top ranked teams from both groups qualify for the 2020 ICC T20 World Cup.
2. Second and third ranking sides from opposite groups play each other. Winner qualifies for the 2020 ICC T20 World Cup. The loser from these matches play against the 4th placed teams from both groups and the winners from these matches qualify for the 2020 ICC T20 World Cup.
