The first semifinals of women Asia cup was played today. Indian team set a target of 148 runs for the Thailand team but unfortunately they were only able to score 74 runs and losing 9 wickets. Shefali Verma scored the highest runs 42 for India. With this win India has entered the final of Asia cup. Pakistan would be playing against Srilanka in the second semifinals which will be held today.

They could have started hitting in the in the last over it was only 9 runs they needed to win the semifinals. I never expected Srilanka to win this match.

The performance of Bangladeshi players in today's match was extraordinary. I haven't seen such a performance from a Bangladeshi squad in a long time. However, due to some mistake, they were defeated. They put on a huge partnership of 126 in the T20 format. I think this is probably the biggest partnership ever by a Bangladeshi pair in the T20 format. Bangladesh would have been able to win this match if they could control the bowling and fielding a bit.

After scoring a good total of 173 runs, the Bangladesh team still loses the match which is a big question mark over their bowling. They should have defended the match but it did not happen. The economy rate of bowlers were too high and Mohammad Saifuddin had the worst bowing figures who gave away 53 runs in his four overs quota.

Pakistan was already in the finals and this run chase will give them more confidence. Again the reason why Pakistan chased this big score was the opening partnership between babar Azam and Rizwan.  Mohammad Rizwan scored 69 runs and was man of the match. Pakistan lost their first wicket at 101 runs and it gave them perfect platform to chase this target.
