Ireland lost today against Zimbabwe. I expected Ireland to win this match. Because their batting line-up is very strong. There are several world-class players. Ireland lost today's match because of the failure of the top-order players. Paul Stirling failed to collect any runs today and Tucker returned to the dressing room with 11 runs. If these two players play well, the Ireland team has a chance to win. On the other hand, Sikander Raza's huge innings of 82 runs from 48 balls made Zimbabwe a huge total of 174. I first thought that India will win this match then I bet on the support of Australia. I lost today's bet due to my mistake of mind. I had quite a doubt that the West Indies team, like the Sri Lankan team, would face a batting disaster. In the last series against Australia we saw that the West Indies batsmen were not in good form. They have yet to return to form. A target of 161 runs is not a big target for a team like West Indies. Almost all West Indies players are capable of playing big shots. Then they lost all the wickets for just 118 runs. I would not be surprised at all if West Indies and Sri Lanka do not play in the main stages of the World Cup. Teams like Ireland, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Scotland are performing quite well now. And so it is difficult for West Indies and Sri Lanka to go to the main stage of the World Cup.

What a disappointing start for the WI team? They were literally struggling while facing the Scottish bowlers. Getting defeated by 42 runs shows how good the scotland bowlers bowled today. The target was not that tough to chase but Scotland were good in both field and bowling today. The next match between Ireland and Zimbabwe has already started and Zimbabwe has already lost a wicket with no score on the board.

Sri Lanka and West Indies going the same route, the opposition batting first they struggle for a while but then the tail end batsman takes the team to a good position and then when they come out to bat they struggle against the Namibia and Scotland bowlers, not a good start and it will be interesting if these two teams fail to qualify for the Super 12 as both teams won the World Cup and no place in the tournament .

Recently we are seeing some upsets happening in cricket which is both good and bad in my opinion. I think Scotland played really well as a whole team but the Windies fell short by quite a big margin. George Munsey played a really good knock for them as he scored 66 runs off 53 balls. What happened yesterday was entirely the fault of West Indies. At this point, both Sri Lanka and West Indies are languishing at the bottom of their respective groups. And both these teams need to win both their remaining matches in order to qualify for the next stage of the world cup. And I have a feeling that at least one of these teams will not qualify. In that case, the situation will get interesting. For the next edition (2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup), these teams need to play the regional qualifier if they don't make it to the next stage. Imagine Sri Lanka playing alongside teams such as Myanmar and Bhutan in the qualifying tournament.

Chances are low, IMO. Sri Lanka has matches remaining against the Dutch and the UAE. West Indies also have matches against Ireland and Zimbabwe. Ideally both these nations should win their remaining matches and therefore qualify to the super-12. But if they don't qualify, then humiliation awaits them. In the next edition (2024), teams outside top-12 need to play regional qualifiers. BTW, back in 2003, Kenya reached semis thanks to some of the teams forfeiting their matches against them. That scenario was different from what we have now.

In between few players Berrington, McLeod, Greaves made little runs that adds to the total. When the second innings started it looked to be an easy win for West Indies, but no mistake coming out of Scotland fielders helped them win the match by 42 runs. No catch drops took place during the second innings which is really impressive. Big disappointment for the West Indies and all the matches that have got over is against the odds.

The bowler had an excellent performance against Sri Lanka. But today against Netherlands their performance is very poor from the beginning of the match. They collected only 121 runs in 20 overs. On a pitch that should have scored at least 140 runs to win. Netherlands batsmen are playing very carefully. They lost 4 wickets and collected 102 runs.
