It is not that a team will play well in every match. Zimbabwe won the previous match but lost to West Indies in this match. Zimbabwe started the innings well. But soon after that, Zimbabwe's game turned around. The West Indies bowlers unleashed a flurry of wickets falling one after the other. The West Indies bowlers' lineup was very strong. The batsmen of the Zimbabwe team failed to hold the match with a strong hand. I think there are very few responsible batsmen in the Zimbabwe team apart from Sikandar Raja. If Sikandar Raja could hold on to the match, good things could have been expected for the Zimbabwean team

We all rely on the Sikandar Raza. No guarantee that any good player will do well every day in the match. However, depending on the single player of T20 cricket, it cannot be go far away. The West Indies, especially for T20, is a big opponent. Although we assumed that the West Indies team would win the match and finally it happened.

Leask bowled well, but couldn't restrict the Irish batsmen. Josh Davey and Safyaan Sharif both conceded more than 10 runs per over. In the end, it came down to experience and consistency.

Like the previous match, the performance of the West Indies batsmen today is not satisfactory. West Indies team won the toss and decided to bat. I thought maybe they were able to fix their batting weaknesses. But at the end of 19 overs, they collected 137 runs after losing 6 wickets. I don't think the pitch is bowling friendly. Even then we are not seeing good performances from the West Indies batsmen. It is very difficult to win with a target of less than 150 on such a pitch. However, if the West Indies bowlers can stop Sikandar Raza, they have a chance to win.

West Indies managed to get to a total of 153/7 in 20 overs. Zimbabwe bowlers conceded too many runs in the last 2-3 overs. West Indies batsmen scored 16 runs from the 20th over. And this may decide the outcome of the match. But Zimbabwe started quite well, with Regis Chakabva and Wessly Madhevere scoring 18 runs in the first over, which was bowled by Kyle Mayers. Now after 2 overs, Zimbabwe are at 29/0. According to ESPN Cricinfo, at this point Zimbabwe is having a higher probability of winning this match (ZIM - 78%, WI - 22%). 

Zimbabwe has lost couple of wickets therefore the probability of them winning this match might have changed. Why do I feel that the top order of Zimbabwe batters are taking Westindies bowlers for granted. The tow batters who lost their wickets did not understand the ball bowled by Joseph. Sikander Raza is on the pitch now and if he starts to go on then Westindies will lose this match.

Although West Indies play better cricket than Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe played a better game today. They lost but fought back to beat the West Indies. Zimbabwe used to play great cricket, but I don't know how they got into such bad form. The rest of the cricket teams need to support Zimbabwe so that they can play great cricket again.

Tomorrow is going to be very exciting day. All the 4 teams have 2 points each in Group B. Personally I want Scotland and Ireland to qualify to the Super-12 phase. For that to happen, Scotland need to defeat Zimbabwe, and Ireland need to defeat West Indies. The first scenario is possible, but not the second. Given the poor form of the Irish bowlers, I won't be surprised if West Indies puts up a total of 200 plus. Anyway for Ireland, the qualification is not that important since they are already having test status. It matters more for Scotland.
