SHACoin is not dead. People always think that if there is nothing posted on bitcointalk the coin must be dead.

A new community forum has been created, go look:

http://www.shacointalk.org

On March 14th the Shacoin Dev posted there asking for help:
http://www.shacointalk.org/index.php?topic=3.msg5#msg5

Instead I see a bunch of people complaining in bitcointalk. How is that helping?

while this coin lures to buy it with low price now - I do not see any point why people will be interested to buy non-mineable coin at much higher price afterwards. even with interest of 25%.
its no dif than blackcoin, we just need more activeness from the dev to keep the community growing

that's what I'm talking about: strange thing with proof of stake, attempts to lure on other forums...
why should I (and everybody else) join 1000s new forums for each new coin before it made at least tiny success?

with current prices its more profitable to mine bitcoin and with dev speaking only about logos and not answering any questions - this coin will die.

its not just going to die lol, but we do need to spread the word better about it. the dev was asking for help from the community, we need someone able to setup a gambling website/dice/something, and have people posting on social media and what-not. to get the word out better, and let people hear about the coin!

...and the site is overrun with what appears to be Japanese spam.  Nobody is moderating or taking care of that site from the looks of it.  No dev input here. No discussion or activity of any sort on another forum.  I mined a few and bought a few more of these coins, would really like to see it succeed for this and other reasons (I like the whole POS idea), so my hope is that at some point the dev sees that we are clamoring for his attention and that he will engage with the community *somewhere*!

I'm curious as to why the Dev hasn't responded to our questions about the specifics of POS minting for this coin...he coded it, so he should have the answer.  But from what I can tell, he hasn't answered the recent POS question like when will it start.

There are others, myself included, who could look through the source code and determine what, exactly, the terms of POS are, but I haven't had the time and was kind of hoping the dev would step and respond.  Any volunteers?

Edit: haven't gotten too far into it, but looks like its a clone of bountycoin, so there may be some answers there.

I am pretty sure it's found in this section of code.
Code:
            if(pindexLast->nHeight + 1 > 15000)
                bnTargetLimit = bnProofOfStakeLimit;
            else if(pindexLast->nHeight + 1 > 14060)
                bnTargetLimit = bnProofOfStakeHardLimit;[code]

Here's the limit and the hard limit
[code]static CBigNum bnProofOfStakeLimit(~uint256(0) >> 24);
static CBigNum bnProofOfStakeHardLimit(~uint256(0) >> 30);

This is 5 seconds of scanning the source, but I didn't notice where he capped pow. Maybe by maxcoins?[/code][/code]

  • Pos system will work after 14400 blocks.
  • Shacointalk is always online. You most likely have a DNS issu if you cannot visit it.

ShaCoin, it looks like most of the posts on the ShaCoin forum are written in a non-english language.  Is there any way to clean this up so that we can follow what is going on there?  It almost looks like the forum is being spammed...

my minting has begun!!

PARTY TIME!!!

woke up this morning to see an extra 3169 SHA in my wallet.
As i'd stopped mining a couple of days ago... this cannot be income generated from mining, So I presume it's stake minted SHA.

superb coin. working a treat.

 Grin

Hi All,
Anynody know what is going on with hardcoreminers?
I've notice that hardcoreminers has quite few alt pools running, so I don't get why they have stolen all the coins from us miners and nobody is not saying anything about it!

Hi All,

I had decided to stop mining SHA early (by early I mean - before block 14400), and settle for my little stash of 50000 coins. I think the PoS algo is a magnet for scammy-stealers, due to the fact that the mining will eventually cease, and so, didn't want to waste hashing power, in case some pools decided to run with the last few coins. I can't comment on the exact situation, but if what you post is the case, there should be a thread initiated on the Scam Alerts section of the forum to warn people away from that particular pool.

/good idea, but I think I will wait before dropping a Scam Alerts, because I've just emailed the owner of the pool and I think its only fair to give him a day to reply!
I think it would be a better to following his posts & drop a scam alert in every one!

to be fair, when the pool was having problems the other day, the op fixed the issue pretty quickly and I managed to cash out ~5000 coins which were sat there. It was after that, I just pointed the part of my rig that was mining SHA, back at the BTC DGM pool I use. I'm content now to hold the SHA I have and let it accrue interest for the long term.
