network conditions is deadly important for the real world mining speed.  by my test, a 300-500ms ping speed to deepbit.net will generate a 330MH/s real-world hashing power.

My deepbit-ping is 25ms and I get now peaks of 426 at my avg 10 minute hashingrate and overall avg 350 Mhash/s

there must be somthing wrong with the power consume. Icarus never uses more than 21 watt, less than 20 is a typical. and the idle state consuming 2-4w typ.
i uses a 1% grade meter for the test, my be one of the meter is not dependable?  

You are right, I have installed a more accurate power monitoring system from Greenwave and Icarus uses 21 watt, idle state 5 watt.

and, please, please keep this thread to Icarus. the 1.5G rig is really really at a plan now, the SPEC./ speed/ price ....
and so on is not tested in real world and not decided yet, i will not announce it officially until i have at lest 5 of them for mining 1 month +,
i don't want to be called as scamers. the development just started and looks like at least will take half year or even longer time to finish,
it's a very hard and complex design, really. so please don't ask any time table or something details like that.

it's not a joke. but the feasibility check will take 2-3 month, and the prototype will take another 2-3 month.
i hope it will come out in 2012.

yep, you are right. 
but the substantive difference between i and BFL is i never accept paid pre-order and i will not announce a exact SPEC until i really have them done.

so, just let me go.

not yet, but i can tell you a dead line. i will start the 2nd batch ship in 2weeks.
i'm testing them, there are 30 of them ... really need a lot of time.
or
i should first test 10 of them and start the ship, then another 10 next week, and so on?

I assume you can't test all 30 at the same time, so testing like 10 at a time with shipping thereafter seems viable.

maybe there will be a lower price and the mining kit and dev kit will sell separately.

I understand the thermal output of these boards is quite low due to low power consumption, do you know what wattage is outputted as heat? And also if a single larger fan would be adaquate to cool several of the boards, I'd prefer them as a quiet and power cheap alternative to GPU mining.

100% of electrical power consumption is always equals to heat output (except some open systems like heatpumps). So if this board consumes 20W then 20W is released as heat.

Yes, I also asked ngzhang about custom cooling solutions. Hope his new product will contain holes for heatsink installation :)

In my "review" I wrote that the fans made noise but I have to correct this, it was only in the first hours.
I think the fans moved during transport and the blades of one fan touched the heatsink.

Now I hardly hear the fans anymore, I think it's between 10-15 db, way less then a normal pc.

After mining with Icarus for more then 2 days at Deepbit (25ms ping) my avg speed is in this range: 330-340 MH/s. (with 1.08% stales)
This should be much higher but one error is bugging me:

...and restart+initialize is taking 6-7 seconds...

this is killing for the avg speed.

But I'm quite happy with my current hashingrate considering the power usage of 20 watt.
Now my mining rig (pc+Icarus fpga) without monitor uses a total of 37 watt.

Not really a constant rate but I would say somewhere between min. 10 and max 30 times per hour.
