This doesn't seem too far-fetched actually. I heard some rumors about it being a dual Spartan6-LX150 board, bitstream-compatible with Icarus, running 250-300MH/s per FPGA. Which would actually be great news for all current Icarus owners...
i hope this will come true, but difficulty and uncertainties are still there...  |

Judging by the interest in Lancelot on these forums, the first batch from the new design better have a large number of boards, they're gonna sell like hot cakes  . |

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system.
