Not until we start seeing crypto scammers get arrested for real many new investors won't join,I have friends that won't join crypto because of scammers running away with ICO funds forever ,no way to arrest them and get the funds out of them,the few news I read about getting some scammers is not enough ,the more there is an effective way the less scammers will harm crypto

If only we have great projects like what we've had back 2016 and 2017 these are the great years in investing, so many great projects that are until now are here, investing in ICO is like gambling, there is no guaranty that you can win here, and the worst part is it will take you so many months before you'll see the profit.

This is the thing that should be regulated, those people behind any crypto project must be accountable with all the money they get from each of their investors, there should be a body that regulate and enforce penalties for those who would just scam a project intentionally. There should be a criteria, qualification and/or requirement as well on how can a group/team could out up and develop a project. This will surely protect and help us all being a crypto investors to at least lessen the risk we take as we get involve in trading and in cryptocurrency as a whole.

Yes you have raised very much important and serious issue. The incidents of scam and hacking have been taking place ever since bitcoin has been issued some 10 years ago. Its intensity has increased lately when popularity of cryptocurrency has increased. But sadly, rarely arrest of such hackers and scammers has been made so far. It is so sad and bitter truth.

Since when did crypto currencies became all about ICO? Your friend isn't joining the crypto market because of the ICO scams? Lol. Tell him not to invest on any ICO. Tell him to invest of bitcoin and other well known established altcoins. Bitcoin and those altcoins won't runaway with his funds  .
Most of those ICOs remain completely anonymous. So there is no way (extremely hard) to take catch those culprits.

You need to take the risk with full responsibilities, dealing with hackers and scammers is not easy you need to learned how they are working trying to penetrate and hacked your account or create something that will let you believe and invest your money, tough task but you need to deal with it if you wanted to survive and achieved working around without any fear of become victimized.

This is the main reason why we need to regulate Crypto so the scammers will really pay what they will commit because there will be regulation, rules and guidelines that will somehow protect everyone in the Crypto Community. At the time of registration of the project, they certainly had an address with the country where they founded the company. And in that country, of course there is legal legality about crypto or refers to public fraud. So you can report to the authorities in that country.

it is very difficult to destroy scammers in crypto space even though regulations can be implemented, it is just a warning and most of them do not care about that. The Crypto Community should be better able to understand the risks experienced from the past and not support all forms of suspicious ico projects.
