I think you're writing Poirier off a little bit too soon. There are some fighters that haven't been the same after a knockout, but Poirier has been KO'ed in a past (by Johnson or McGregor) but managed to bounce back nicely. There's no reason to think it'll be much different after KO from Gaethje (who also got KO'ed and that didn't stop his way to the top).

Usually fighters will be a little different after a knockout and that happens a lot among fighters. Regarding Dustin, I can't say whether it will affect his performance in the future or not because Justin's knockout defeat yesterday was the most brutal knockout Dustin experienced. A fighter will remember that moment a little when he is in the same situation in the next fight.

Maybe you are right about Dustin Poirier and I surely never gave him credit for those fights that he bounces back from but for me, his boxing is just really good and for sure Justin Gaethje just did awesome if he can not defeat the Boxing of Poirier then give him a punch with the follow-up kick on the face will be very effective for boxers, well I have seen Chandler went for a kick that his opponent never seen to KO him in an instant and this is what Michael Chandler is doing, for me I might give Chandler a chance,

It is less than 2 weeks until UFC 294, and it was revealed that Paulo Costa had elbow surgery 3 weeks ago. That is just so stupid, you are a co-main event fighter and hide such things from your boss. Is it greed? Saying this so late so no one would replace you? Or the surgery was on a level of removing splinter ? Or this is a back-up plan (excuse) in case he looses or USADA find something besides "secret juice" in him?

For sure Paulo Costa doesn't want this fight to be canceled again that is why I think he didn't say it to the UFC, just so it would not get canceled well for sure he has back from his previous canceled fight against Ikram Aliskerov so for sure he can not afford to get this fight against Khamzat Chimaev get canceled as well because even if he lost this fight it will still be bigger pay for him for sure, so yeah Paulo Costa really need this fight it is a bigger ranking fighter and a bigger event for the UFC,

The event is so much filler between events, that UFC.com decided to put Makhachev vs Olivera 2 already on a front page
But, if we check ufc.com, we would see a Michel Pereira vs. Andre Petroski fight in middleweights (not in your list). This fight is in sherdog list also. Besides main event and Michel Pereira fight, I dont see anything that I would watch. Just old Barboza and Pereira with his jumps and capoeira show offs

I really think that the UFC has decided to make another stacked event for us, maybe he is getting rid of the events that have less consumer engagement and letting it all out with the Main event together for sure this also lets UFC save so much in stacking the best fight in one full card well, in my opinion, this event right now I really don't know if I interested in it or not but all I see was Michel Pereira VS Andre Petroski fight for sure I want that as a main event fight that what we have right now,

Got a feeling Petroski is gonna grind Pereira against the cage for the first couple of rounds and get him tired.  By R3 both explosiveness and cardio will be down paving way for some striking.  Dunno, but I think Petroski could be a harder match up for Pereira than Barriault.  He hasn't fought a good wrestler and grappler before.

As for the event I think it's kinda decent.  Too bad Chris Duncan pulled out too.  I think he was the underdog vs McKinney...  Duncan would've been a good spot imho.

Great fighters don't need bullshit, I like silent characters in the world of fighting except entertainment wrestling maybe they will play promos to attract the audience, Islam Makhachev is not a replica of Khabib so don't compare the two too much, they still have their own characters, but they are the greatest fighters and fighters undefeated, anyone has to admit their greatness, they ruined the opponent's undefeated record and any fighter who wants to increase the number of wins then don't oppose and accept the fight from Islam Makhachev.

For sure we have different preferences for the fighters that we want but I really like Islam Makhachev as a fighter many prefer a fighter that speaks in English even Khabib Nurmagomenodov has said this to practice their English in what ever happen with their career and this could surely help his career in the UFC,

It should be noted that McGregor uses several of these drugs according to doctor recommendations or supervision so there is no prohibition against their use but after deciding to return to fighting he has carried out several tests and even given up all types of drugs that he previously consumed.
Concerning McGregor physique he experienced changes because trained more often and went to the GYM to develop his body muscles and for almost three years he retired from UFC so he focused on healing the injuries he experienced and with some time this was enough to make the changes.

There is nothing wrong with McGregor and he can still continue fighting as stated by Dana White as UFC president.

I think that this is going to be a close fight again. No one would have obvious advantage. Volk is on a short notice, Makhachev has been preparing for a total different class of fighter. Feel bad for Oliveira for missing chance to regain his belt back. His championship period was somehow unlucky. First he has lost belt due to missing weight against Gaethje, then lost in a fight against vacant title, now misses opportunity in just 1 day before flying to Emirates.

Yeah, I've just seen a video of Dana White confirming this, he appeared to be slightly annoyed that Oliveira's team didn't contacted him straight away, he said he would've had arranged a proper plastic surgeon to get tat sorted out instead of just stitching it up.

Volk would have a massive mental advantage for sure, there's no shame in losing if he accepts the fight on such short notice. All pressure will be on Islam, his last win wasn't convincing, so he's got something to prove, he had more time to prepare (for different type of opponent, but still), and his fighting in front of "his" crowd.
The key question is in what shape is Volk right now. I understand that he's one of those types that would train hard even outside of fight camp. If so, he should be alright. He'd also need to Aby Dhabi as soon asap to get enough time to adapt.

That's a great replacement though, I think I like this fight better.

For sure even though the fight with Michael Chandler had happen or not Conor McGregor is still juicing money over his advertisers and there is a lot of ways for him to get profited by marketing himself because he is a very wellknown personality, for sure it really takes something for him to profit on what he is doing and for sure his recent movie will do great with Jake Gyllenhaal and he can become a full artist for sure,

I really don't know why the UFC is still trusting in giving him a chance for sure his charisma is something that is profitable but that is just all, if he keeps on losing inside the ring then that profitability will surely lost aswelll just like what is happening with Tony Ferguson, it is good that Nate Diaz has already retired and for sure he is lucky that his fight with Khamzat Chimaev was cancaled because that will instantly lost his career,

Now there were only 10 days lays, he was still in Brazil and sparred without the gear. Imho he could only blame himself or his team for missing that opportunity and no wonder Dana is annoyed.

It is what it is. He has been unlucky, but we cannot do anything about that. Neither can he. But the fight that people are wanting to see right now is definitely going to be interesting. It will be good. injuries can happen. I also definitely feel bad for Oliviera.  But as I said, it is what it is. Everyone has to accept it and move on.

Yeah, I know, I've seen youtube commentators criticising Oliveira for not getting there earlier and questioning whether he really takes this fight seriously. That injury is 100% on him, although I wouldn't judge him without knowing the details, accidents happen and it's possible to catch an accidental knee, elbow or headbutt even during a soft, touch sparring.
I wonder what's next for him and if he'll get another title shot next, or will they make him fight someone ranked below him. I think Gaethje deserves the next one and Oliveira should fight someone else within the next 2-3 months.

I don't know whether I should be happy or sad about this. I'm happy with this remake but the problem is that Volkanovski only has 2 weeks to prepare. What a shame. It looks like Volk will just spend the 11 days making the weight rather than training to win. There is no time to set up a proper training camp for Volk. They had a very close fight before but I expect the betting odds to make Makachev a heavy favorite due to the late-notice situation.

And there's also Costa just had elbow surgery. That needs weeks of rest to fully heal. Robert Whitaker's name was mentioned as the substitute but Costa continued to insist that he will still fight Chimaev.

It seems like excuses are being ready once Volk and Costa lose their fights.

Heh...  That sucks.  :/  But I don't really mind seeing Volk in there and getting another shot at 155 title tho.  The books seem to line him as a stronger challenger than Oliveira.  He's at 2.95 right now, if his line goes to 3.50 it could a good value spot imho.
