I'm 100% rooting for Yair here, as I really like his fighting style and the entertainment value he brings into all his fights, but I have a feeling Ortega could make a surprise here. I think he'll give up on the idea of having a striking match against Yair and will be shooting for takedowns from early on to neutralise Yair's biggest advantage.

Yair will win this one, he has to clean his reputation from the past loss when he couldn't get the champ title.

And I don't know what to expect from Raul Rosas, he had some nice potential, buen in the past fight he do it terrible, so, Let's see what kind of show he give us today.

this match many people commented that yair celebration after ortega lose with dislocation shoulder isn't a sportmanship. i call that an absolute bs.
meanwhile ortega is just rusty as hell he just eats so many shots from the very first round.
the outcome of the fight was defnitely because ortega just trying to brute trying to force himself out of the tough situation and that just means that yair is better in his technique.
simply put ortega is rusty, and yair is quick and on point evenn yair clearly got the upperhand in this match.

It is all speculation if Merab Dvalishvili is using PEDs then the UFC will surely test him if he is positive or not because even though the USADA is not in the UFC anymore there are other organizations that are testing the fighters with drugs like this if that company is not transparent with the results then the UFC is likely just controlling the test results if they are not transparent with the fighters results.

I agree, people just can't accept that Dvalishvili is the goat. He is a very motivated and talented individual who did everything to become a UFC fighter, he is exceptional and people can't accept that.

Guys just check what I found. In my country, Georgia (Dvalishvili is Georgia) I found a boxing punch machine with Dvalishvili's image on it. It's very good, most of the time I was seeing only Tyson and Conor McGregor, now there is Dvalishvili on many machines and I hope they'll put Topuria on them too.

Rusty or not, but Ortega still get that submission. Which somehow surprised me. I thought Yair going to win this time, but that rusty Ortega still can survive punches and catch opponent by surprise. As to main event, cant say much. Split decision is always not good. On one hand it gives potential for s rematch. On the other hand, we might see 25min again. This is was the event when co-main event was much better than main

The Royval win was pretty good too.  Hopefully he gets another crack at it vs Pantoja.  I don't think he was fighting at the peak of his abilities when they fought.

So my gut feeling turned out to be right and Ortega grabbed a win. I feel sorry for Yair, but respect to Brian for that beautiful art triangle choke.
I think Ortega proved to be worthy of another title shot. Looking at his record, and not counting that shoulder injury, he only lost to Volk by decision and to Max Holloway by doctor's stoppage.
This boils down the number of potential opponents for Topuria's next fight to 3, in order of likelihood: Volk (rematch), Holloway (provided he doesn't get destroyed by Gaethje in the UFC300 and Ortega.
And if the Octagon fights were not enough, there were some fan brawl, apparently uninterrupted by security, because... Mexico.

Ortega vs Tuporia?  it may be just that Tuporia is much more well-rounded and can hit harder than him. if he didn't win with Volkanovski and Max, less chance of winning in fighting Tuporia. Ortega vs Volkanovski 2 would be more possible.

at the beginning of R1 Yair was winning and then giving his back to Ortega and was mounted. Yair lost hope already after seeing he lost R1 and R2, he was easily mounted in the 3rd round with no struggle, and he's ready to give up.

I didnt know Ilia Topuria was so popular in Spain, and I know he has a perfect 15-0 MMA record, but maybe it happened quickly after his win against Volkanovski.
He was called to take a honorary ball kickoff at Santiago Bernabeu stadium today in match Real Madrid vs Sevilla  
Maybe Real won today and Topuria was their lucky charm.

Brian Ortega's ground game is quite good. Jair cannot keep distance at all. I also felt that he would win against fighters with good ground game, so Brian Ortega would win. Even though he was a little worn out in the first minutes, he recovered well and Ortega finished with an arm triangle. I just heard about the fight, it's ridiculous that they behave like this when there is a good organization, this does not honor the fighters. There is no fighter who can beat Ilia Topuria El Matador, it seems that way at the moment, he said this himself after the Volkanovski fight. Also, I don't think they will re-match, he will probably fight with someone other than the top three, probably Topuria.

For me, Merab Dvalishvili is even more qualified than his friend Aljamain Sterling to become the champion for the Bantamweight Division right now that Aljamain Sterling has moved up the Division to featherweight let his friend Merab Dvalishvili champion in the Bantamweight I think that he has more potential in kicking Sean O'Malley in his place for me Sterling will be having a hard time against Ilia Topuria, but yeah Dvalishvili will be champion and I hope this year,

And speaking of my picks on the last UFC event it was worst I was busy yesterday and could not get into my PC to post and to check the fight and I was late seeing the fights and it was all lost for me I never imagined that Moreno and Rodriguez will lose and the Raul Rosas Jr. vs. Ricky Turcios fight will be canceled because of Rosas illness.

Brandon Moreno vs. Brandon Royval - LOST

Brandon Moreno does not himself in this fight while Royval was great with his strikings it was clear as day who had the upper hand in this fight but actually as I have seen the fight it was a close boring fight and Moreno looks pretty much not great in this fight and he is not the same Brandon Moreno and what I am expecting on this fight it was like he has thrown this fight and just bet on his opponent, it was a very underwhelming fight or should we say a boring fight.

Yair Rodriguez vs. Brian Ortega - LOST

Brian Ortega is back in the winning category, and I really thought that Yair Rodriguez could win this he is more active than Ortega but for sure seeing Brian Ortega in this fight he is more prepared and has changed in this fight, while Rodriguez I haven't seen any improvement at all he is the same Yair Rodriguez or he is underestimating Ortega well who known the thing is Brian Ortega is back and with more dominating performance.

Raul Rosas Jr. vs. Ricky Turcios - CANCELED  

I was really frustrated with this one, and it was the illness that had gotten Raul Rosas Jr. but I can not blame the kid, this could be the only win in my pick but anyway moving on this this event and getting into another event and it is a UFC Fight Night Jairzinho Rozenstruik VS Shamil Gaziev.

^  The making event isn't really that good but there are good match ups peppered in the event.  Basharat vs Zahabi, Alvarez vs Klein, Schnell vs Erceg, Nurmagumedov is back, Mokaev vs Perez and Petrino vs Pedro will be a total banger.  Overall another decent roster even though the main event sucks.

To be fair, Dvalishvili's and Aljamain Sterling's brotherhood is a little bit strange. In Georgia, such brotherhood exists but as far as I know, it's impossible to find a person with that belief in the USA because our mentality is very different.
UFC is not popular in my country, it has never been. In my country, Judo, Wrestling and Rugby are very popular. UFC is becoming popular because of Dvalishvili and Topuria are achieving a huge success. Their success makes UFC popular here. I don't know if you remember #NBAvote ZazaPachulia, Georgians are extremely supportive when a person from their nation wins something or achieves success.

I agree that rematch with Volk is more possible, and I would prefer to see that, but the UFC seemed a bit hesitant to say if it's a possibility. Maybe they have a plan to elevate Topuria to a superstar-level and, if so, they might choose to give him a bit weaker opponent than Volk to make sure he becomes a dominant champion.
Like him or not, Brian is very entertaining and goes all in in all his fights, like his fight with Max for example - he was getting beaten up but kept coming until the doctor stopped the fight.

But maybe it would be better if they matched up Ortega with Volk and let Topuria fight Holloway, but Max would have to present himself really well (not necessarily win) against Gaethje.
I don't think they'll match Max against Volk, as they fought 3 times already.

If I remember correctly, Ortega was close on submitting Volkanovski, but Alex managed to escape somehow.
Topuria looks invincible right now, but he needs to be tested against other top fighters, to prove he's really that good and it was not all due to Alex's being in decline.

Sad to say Yair Rodriguez lost the fight you may have lost your bet but for sure you will go back and get it someday, well I have won because of Brian Ortega, I may have lost the Main Event pick but with Brian Ortega's come back performance it was really awesome and he is the underdog for this fight so it is a very juicy win, and PS I was wrong in putting Yair Rodriguez there and it should be Brian Ortega for sure.

Brandon Moreno [1.34] - It was pretty much a close fight but Brandon Royval was on edge, and Brandon Moreno is not that slick anymore it was a worse fight for Brandon Moreno and a loss for me as Brandon Royval also slightly controlled the ground against Moreno it seemed like a very different Moreno I am seeing a weird kind of fighter and not Moreno if he continues being like this he better quit it.

Yair Rodriguez vs. Brian Ortega - WIN

Brian Ortega [1.69] - In this fight, I was right but take a risk at Ortega he was the underdog in this fight I picked Ortega but for some reason, I put Yair Rodriguez instead but yeah I can not remember Brian Ortega's odds but just putting the name of Ortega in there even though my pick was Yair Rodriguez my bet was really Ortega, sorry guys.

If I am not mistaken, then Muhammad Mokaev is a popular guy also, whos fights are cool to watch. Wasnt he the one who endured nasty knee submission till round ended, later finished his opponent, and later suffered injured joints for a long time ? I think he was that one. And I remember that he is undefeated. Another Dagi Look at this guys beard. Who he wants to fool with UK citizenship?

^  Lol yeah...  He fights out of Manchester.    And Mokaev is the kind of guy you like to hate as he's cocky and he likes to talk a lot of sht.  But he's also good and he could back it up in the cage.  He's def a future title contender.  We prolly see him go for it late this year or around early 2025.

This one below convinced me that Petrino could be the real deal.  His two matches prior were good but they were vs easy opponents.  Bukauskas isn't really that good but he usually tests up and coming fighters.  And it wasn't much of a test vs Petrino.
