Great fight between Vettori and Cannonier. Cannonier has a strong head, because he ate nice punches in first round, but Vettori’s head probably is either empty, or is a solid stone. How can he survived all those strikes in second round? Total beating by Cannonier. Btw, thanks to Vettori, Cannonier set record of most accented strikes in ufc history.

It was a violent and furious battle between Vettori and Cannonier that showed both combatants tenacity and toughness. Vettori amazing fortitude and tenacity allowed him to endure Cannonier devastating blows in the second round. Although it may seem impossible fighters frequently acquire an astounding degree of mental toughness through intense training and octagon experience. Vettori ability to survive can be attributed to a variety of things including his physical preparedness defensive prowess and pure willpower. It is amazing how some people can take such harsh treatment and keep going. In the end Vettori resilience in the face of adversity shows the incredible spirit that permeates the mixed martial arts community.

It almost felt like cannonier was landing, but because both of the fighters really trying to hurt each other in the blue from Cannonier were not actually seen to be very painful in the naked eye. He was landing, and he was landing Very well. Vetorri really connected well but In some cases he was not able to take advantage of that. I will also say that after those collections cannonier was able to stay away from Vittori. Both of them absolutely destroyed each other in this fight. We are also expected at least one fighter to drop out cold in this fight. But that did not happen.

Vettori showed early aggression in the battle with Cannonier which was unquestionably fierce from the start. Even though Cannonier blows may not have initially appeared to be visually devastating it soon became clear that they were landing efficiently as the fight went on. Vettori despite occasionally connecting well found it difficult to take advantage of those opportunities whereas his precision and accuracy were remarkable.

Both competitors gave it their all in the ring in terms of activity appearing ready to do whatever it takes to win. Many viewers had been hoping for a knockout or at the very least for a combatant to be rendered unconscious but Vettori and Cannonier both displayed remarkable toughness and resiliency. It is evidence of their fortitude and their high level of talent. Fans were on the edge of their seats the entire time as the fight was hotly contested.

I can say it was a pretty good match. Cannorior, one of the two middleweight names who had the opportunity to go to the belt again, was the one who made the most of this opportunity. During the match, Vettori was really slow compared to his speed, yes, he was durable, but he had no footwork and Vettori was not successful in distance.

Cannoier was superior in terms of kicks, direct hit and takedowns in the match, the judges scored the match quite correctly and gave Cannoier the match he deserved. Meanwhile, Cannoier's shots were quite accurate and hard, only because Verotti was durable, the shots did not seem very hard.

So what next, Cannonier fights Adesanya again? He might be a real thread now. Adesanya is no good against big guys ( Cannonier is a former heavyweight and lightheavy) such as Blachowicz and Pereira. Cannonier is big and hope gained more experience since their previous fight. That makes a really good challenge for Izzy.

Robert Whittaker is fighting with Dricus Du Plessis so he is out, Paulo Costa is scheduled to fight with Ikram Aliskerov, and Alex Pereira is going up with Jan Błachowicz.
I dont see anyone else and Cannonier said he doesnt want to fight with lower ranked fighter.

It could be a wrong decision for Dana White but I think he is just torn about what he can do about something surely he can not change what is happening now because Francis Ngannou doesn't like his offer, but when PFL accepted his terms I think Dana White doesn't like it so he is doing everything in his power to make headlines aswell, and surely disappointing Ngannou is one of it, and like the saying goes, the damage has already been done,

It was really an outstanding fight Marvin Vettori is hitting Cannonier if Jared was on southpaw, but switching to orthodox was the time Vettori gets in trouble with those volume strikes, I really think that Jared Cannonier has taken the record with the help of Marvin Vettori's durability as well if Vettori was easily knockout then the record would not be broken by Jared Cannonier, If there is a separate record for the most eaten strikes for the Middleweight aswell, then Vettori can also get a record because if not for him Cannonier would not attain such record,

^   And Emmet is getting old, if not just plain old for a fighter in his weight class at 39.  Lower weight classes can't get away with what the heavy weights can get away with in terms of getting over 35.

And Emmet has taken a lot of damage in his career.  I wouldn't be surprised if Topuria knocks him out around R3...

Anyway, this event looks more like a parlayable one with most of the favorites possibly getting the W.

For me, at 38 years old Josh Emmett still has it in him, well not a slick movement but still you can really not underestimate Josh Emmett if it comes to brawls and if a fighter is a likely brawler and is not really aiming for that technicality of the fight Josh Emmet could win this but against Ilia Topuria it is a different story Ilia Topuria is a different kind of beast for sure when it comes to fighting IQ the level of Yair Rodriguez will be upon him and the durability of Yair will be upon him for sure, and it is never a surprise if Topuria Knocks Emmett up because that is what I likely as expecting,

Yup.  Topuria is a future title challenger.  Is Emmet still at top 5?  If Topuria wins he could be in the conversation.

Tbh I didn't think Topuria was that good until I saw him fight Bryce Mitchell, who is another top prospect, was undefeated at the time, good at wresting and GnP and he's durable.  Yet Topuria made him look like just another lowly opponent and finished him.

Would gladly watch Topuria fighting Volkan, after he beats Rodriguez But, I think UFC gonna give Topuria another test in the face of Ortega or Hollaway. Ilia imho needs a series test of his skills before having a boss fight. Also, dont forget that we have Movsar Evloev, who is also undefeated like Topuria. Frankly, Emmett does not look like a real test for Ilja. He is 38, and in those weight classes, people arent fast and in peak form anymore at that age (not like heavyweight, when closer to 40, the better they are - they are like wine, with age getting better ).

There are two fights on Saturday tomorrow that interest me at stake even though the Odds are still below my expectations but it is very likely that victory can be obtained later.
I support two fighters namely Cody Brundage in the Middleweight class and also Tatsuro Taira who is in the flyweight class.
For Tatsuro Taira himself, it looks like he can easily get victory and the record of wins and titles he has is truly epic.

I never paid much attention, but found out that in women weigh divisions, there are fighters who are in top in two weight divisions. For example Jessica Andrade is in straight and flyweight, or Amanda Ribas. I have never though how hard it is for women to cut weight. They arent heavy in general, and cutting few kg seems harder than if men cut same amount.

I think that's going to be the norm of boxing and fighting now. Make a trend, hype it some more, and let the people decide. If that trend doesn't go down on Twitter, then it will happen.

I am only eyeing that battle of Amanda Ribas versus Maycee Barber. Ribas is the favorite at 1.49 and Maycee is an underdog at 2.55. I think I will be betting on the favorite.

Sometimes I feel that people who organize Mayweather or Conor fight dont earn as much as people expect them to earn. How much Mayweather get for a fight 40-100 millions? And Conor isnt far from that lowest number probably. Plus promotion pay other fighters, venue rent, stuff and etc.

For example Bones vs Gane fight - we still dont have PPV true numbers. I would say that it did not set a record or surpass 1 million then. According to wikipedia, Bones fights sell around 550k PPV. As it was his return, perhaps they would have sold 700k subscriptions. Subscription cost 70 bucks, but UFC did not get 100% of it. Bones got 3 millions, Gane 500k, Shevchenko 500k, Grasso 330k. We can count rest of main card salary cost as, lets say 500k also. 8 guys from prelims probably got regular contract payment 35+35. That is also a half a million roughly. Early prelims are around 150k. With bonuses, that is around +6kk on salaries only. Renting a venue might cost millions. Renting T-Mobile Arena isnt cheap plus extra payment for necessary facilities.

Not saying that running UFC isnt profitable, but I think people visualise they earn hundred of millions, while real numbers are lowers.

Parlay the first two matches of the event and see what goes from there if it wins right?    That's what I usually do too, tho if it was me I'm gonna go with Brundage and fight doesn't go the distance for the other match.  The only concern, Brundage is on a two fight skid.  But he should win as the other guy has an almost nonexistent TD defense.

Another concerning thing is the line for Taira.  It's too wide imho.  Rodrigues could knock him out for all we know as his chin hasn't really been tested yet.

If you mean in terms of Conor's career, it was really a bad decision to arrange that fight but you know, Conor and Dana White, both of them love a lot of money, especially Dana White.
But the fact is, Conor's real motive behind his UFC career was to earn a lot of money, it was all he wanted because he was very poor. He achieved this goal and his fighting career went down. If not with Floyd, it would happen with any other such a profitable fight. If I am not wrong, he said after the 2nd fight with Dustin Poirier that if you leave the game even for a while, you'll find it very hard to return back. He admits that you should constantly train to and not have fun to be in the game.

I also agree that he did achieve what he wanted through fighting, which is earning a lot of money. But what I am trying to say is that he could have stayed in the fighting game and earned a lot more. But when he got good enough money and he was also able to set up a business, I am talking about his whiskey business.

By the way, he was not into fighting anymore. I don’t know how his business is going on right now. But with the type of fans, he has all over the world, I think he should do well. At least he should have a very loyal customer base. And as he was able to find another way to earn money, he probably understood that he didn’t need to fight at the top of the competition anymore. That’s why he also started having more fun with his money and stopped training properly as well.

Well, it is pretty much different in the metabolism of women to men and how they cut weight pretty much, and because the body structure of men and women are pretty much different we surely get different results for each but for me, there is a same process for men and women to cut weight and both got a worst case that is happening, I have seen the weight cut video of Chris Cyborg and I saw Khamzat Chimaev's Islam Makhachev and how they struggle in cutting weight all of them have a worst weight cutting technique the process is agonizing pain, and there is danger towards it,

It's true tho, there aren't any names that could pique our interest from a pure fan's perspective except for maybe a couple.  But there are low key, good match ups in there like Allen vs Silva, Magny vs Rowe is intruiging, Taira vs Rodrigues could end in an upset and the main event should be a banger.

Does Dana White and the UFC needs more attention in 2023, the things you mentioned earlier was true. UFC was a dying brand and the best fighters were in Japan and hence they wanted to collaborate and according to their agreement first the UFC fighters would fight in Japan and then they will travel to the US and fight in the UFC but they did not complete that promise and hence he took the decision not to do cross promotion fights.

Dana White accepted the proposal from Conor McGregor because the hype he was able to generate to Box Mayweather and with the way he was performing at that point there was a consensus that Conor could upset an aging Mayweather but that is not the case with Tyson Fury who is the best Boxer of this generation. Francis Ngannou who is holding the Heavyweight title wanted to Box for the bragging rights for the baddest man on the planet and if Dana White or any Boxing fans knows that there is no way anyone in the Boxing world could challenge Tyson Fury and for someone to expect that someone from another sport would defeat him is living in an imaginary world and that would hamper the UFC Heavyweight title and their brand in the future.

Dana White would always welcome anyone to fight in the Octagon because he knows that it will boost his brand and anyone who is focused on one aspect of the fight game wont match a MMA fighter as there are different aspect to the fight game. Now to the Jones Vs Fury, Dana White will not allow him to fight in a proper Boxing match, unless he vacates his belt.

I don’t know if I am not up-to-date with the things or the fights that are going on in that UFC right now or not, but I genuinely do not know most of the fighters who will be fighting in the next event. So, obviously, there is not even a single fight that is actually interesting to me in this event. The lightweight fight is going to be interesting I guess between Rębecki and Radzhabov. But really not interesting enough to make me watch the fight. I genuinely don’t care if there is actually a good fight. I would actually prefer to see the highlights or the replay if there is actually a good fight.
