thanks for the input, you have nice results. I managed to get power consumption down with 56mhs, if someone could share how they get power draw on gpuz to sub 100w that would be fun edit: just to be clear its just this xfx 5700xt with dual bios switch and 3 fans on it that gave me so much trouble.

Did you tweak the memory timings yourself or pull details from somewhere else?

Hey everyone, is anyone currently dual mining ETH + other coin? I think options are pretty limited with both Phoenix & Claymore, but are there other miners out there that can effectively do ETH + other profitable algos like MTP, Cuckoo, KawPow, Beam, etc?
Assuming my 1070ti rigs would be much better at dual mining vs my 470's but not sure if it's worth it.

I always have tried to keep it simple and never did a lot of dual mining.

I always have tried to keep it simple and never did a lot of dual mining. Yeah i hear ya Phil... back when i first started mining in 2016, i was dual mining ETH + DCR and actually made a pretty good profit on the DCR portion. Although, I unfortunately didn't realize i could dual mine until about 6 months in, so probably lost several thousand in profit from that oversight, but i digress... To me, it' all about the "extra work to potential incremental profit" ratio. So, if it's just a few more cents per day but you have to change miners and manage another pool, it's just not worth the effort. But, if the extra profit is significant, then maybe it's worth that extra work. I did just find a site "MinerStat" that shows a lot more algos than whattomine, but looks like the best dual mine is ETH + ZIL, which only nets like 50 cents more per day (for 12 1070ti's), so clearly not worth it for that small amount.

Use bminer for dual mining, eth+ziliqa you should get extra 4-5% profit

I always have tried to keep it simple and never did a lot of dual mining. I did the ETH and ZIL dual mining for a while but its peanuts. I do like that ZILICA project but dual mining IMHO not worth it. I however bought from open market a substaintial amount of ZIL at its low a few days ago, and locked it at Binance on 0.3% annual yield. This ZIL is ideal for long term stash me thinks.

It's more about the timing for dual mining, hns for example was also profitable for few weeks .As for zil not really big fan of coins that promise to implement sharding I mean even eth don't know how (so far)

With the recent price surge, i've turned on my old rigs for a quick profit with all the paid-off gear (glad i didn't sell everything!). So happy to see this legendary megathread is alive. I've been looking to build a power wall so i can turn on my rigs more often.
Can't believe how much i missed this!

looks like even my old 480s can do 28mhs at 80-ish watts with latest SMOS AMD drivers, modest OC settings - incredible! the problem is I forgot if these 480s were BIOS modded. the must be an error somewhere since dashboard reporting 0.975 undervolt, but I clearly set it to 0.850 at OC settings. but then again these old 480s maybe acting up due to old age since the 1st PCI reports a 4gb 480 which is clearly wrong I need to find a kill-a-watt power adapter to see the actuals from the wall - 80-ish watts is hard to believe

I'm not sure if SMOS factors in the fact that the AMD driver only reports like the core usage, not entire card usage.. AwesomeMiner has a % power increase factor you can set in order to overcome this. I find a 35% increase is usually around the right number.

Probably 130w from the wall, it's nice to see 80w, but this is only from GPU core, you have to add the entire card power draw and you'll lose a bit more on PSU efficiency (6 to 10% more or less) But it's not bad if you are on 10 cents kw USD range, when you buy a kill-a-watt power adapter tell us how much your rig are consuming

Generally all these RX 470/480/570/580 have the same power consumption. If you undervolt to 900mV which is the average voltage before you get stability issues the GPUs pull around 120-130 watts from the wall after Gold PSU inefficiencies and not including the mobo+ram+ssd+fans.
So if you want the best consumption per rig you should use all the max slots on the motherboard. Generally the mobo+ram+ssd+fans use about 30-40 watts and each GPU uses 125 Watts or so. So if you got a 6 GPU rig it typically consumes ~800 Watts or so.
The people that claim that their RX 570 uses 75 watts from the wall clearly don't own a power meter.
