Do you guys sell these GPUs at these high mark ups in person or online? I don’t think I would be able to sell them in person at a high mark up. Online it’s different. But when you are doing the transaction in person I couldn’t look the other person in the eye while charging him 50-100% mark up.

I would feel ashamed for taking advantage. And if I was a buyer paying a high mark up I also wouldn’t have a pleasant look on my face knowing that I am paying a huge premium to this individual who was lucky enough to find some in stock.
I never mark up at ebay prices.

on ebay 1 1080ti and 1 3080 is running for 2900 + tax.

in my listing I ask for a bid from 2100 to 2500

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5320394.0

so you could get it 800 cheaper than ebay.  I am not ashamed to take that much profit.

But frankly face to face scares me on any high priced sale. My fear is the guy wants to stick me up.

Online.  I don't have the time to go meet people face to face in a safe place to do a transaction.  I also have to collect and remit sales tax in my state and it's to much of a hassle as no buyer wants to pay sales tax face to face.

There is nothing to be ashamed of and no one is getting taken advantage of.  I offer a high level of customer service and price my products at the market rate.  The buyer's I have appreciate the fact they know they will get what they ordered, in a timely manner, and shipped safely.

The time and effort put into acquiring a hard to find, highly sought after item is appreciated and worth paying extra for to my buyers.  No one has to buy from me as I am selling a luxury item.

The Walmart by me has no other grocery store for 2-3 miles and charges 50% more for milk and other food staples than the one close to Publix.  I think that is worse but I can still drive a bit to save some money or pay the extra for saving the time of buying close.

I can price my items and the buyers can decide if they want to purchase.  If I didn't grab items when I can someone else will and that seller may not give the same high level of customer service that I do.

This is why I meet at a friends house whom owns a LOT of firearms for protection;
Or I meet in a local PD parking lot to do the transaction.

I have done the gas station meetup;  but only at ones I know are covered with security cameras and that are very busy...   I haven't been robbed yet (knock on wood).

Meet at a police station. Some have an entrance area with an officer sitting behind some glass. Just meet up there and you will be safe.

You don't need to meet at a police station or tell the guy coming over you got guns at your place. If you are paranoid just meet at any bank. There should be a bank around any corner. And banks have security cameras everywhere and some might even have a security guard there. They can't kick you out, if they do, go to the ATM and withdraw a $20 and you are essentially a customer.

I think when dealing with strangers online alot depends on what you are selling. I've sold tons of items in the past on Craiglist and the worst I think is iPhones. You sometimes meet very sketchy people that way. When it comes to mining equipment or computer products most of the people you meet are generally kids or nerds.

I agree with this.  As long as its not phones or shoes or designer clothes, most of the time there won't be problems.  I think facebook Marketplace is especially good considering you can see the person's name and profile beforehand.

Shoes and Designer clothes? Really. Never would of guessed that. I am assuming that its mostly young women who buy that stuff, didn't think it was considered risky selling those.

I think besides iPhones the worst is most likely cars. Whether you are selling or buying one. When selling, you have no idea what kind of weirdo will show up. Generally they know where you live unless you want to meet somewhere public, and even then they usually want at least a test drive. If you don't allow a test drive most likely they won't buy it. If you allow the test drive, what if they pull out some gun or knife inside the car? And if they let them test drive it alone, what if they never come back.

With buying a car, the risk is whether the ad is real or fake. Could be a fake ad saying "Bring cash and car is yours for $1000", you show up. No cars and the person knows you got $1000 cash on you. Very common scam that goes on.

I have never had a problem buying/selling/trading in person.  Mostly on Craigslist.

Items I have sold:

Cars
Generators
Transfer switches
Large fish tanks
Air Compressor
Metal brake

Items I have purchased:

Large fish tanks
Generators

Items I have traded:
9mm Glock for a metal brake

All were really nice people, including the guy that I traded my 9mm to.  Maybe I just got lucky...

I have also sold a bunch of GPUs, but those were all on eBay and [H]ardforum.  Out of about 40 GPUs sold on eBay, I had issues with 2 of the buyers, but in both cases eBay/PayPal ruled in my favor.

Last month eBay has me convert to link my account to my checking account, cutting out PayPal as the middle man.  I think that will be a good thing, but we'll see.

Is that straight out the box for Octopus or have you tweaked it to see if you can do more?

Whattomine has the 3070 at 52 mhs.  I think I saw around 44 mhs on early reviews of the 3060.

It's been a while but with my 3080 I can get it down to about 70-75% or so power or 240w for 80 mhs on Octopus any lower on power and I lose hashes.

I was picked for the Newegg shuffle on Monday for one of the 3060s.  Even though it was from Newegg I think I paid way too much for it.  It was the MSI Gaming X Trio model for $540.  I just wanted to play with it as well and a little part of me hopes that somebody finds a way around their eth nerf for these cards.  Let me know if you manage to squeeze more speed out of it.  $3.50 a day still isn't bad.  It's just the model I got selected for is too much.  I feel everybody is gouging on the prices now or that 25% tax in the US is funding the stimulus package.  Still 160 days to ROI is pretty good.

Viabtc does not auto change coins to btc.

Ie I mine

LTC/Doge
BTC
ETH

I send to my wallets every once in a while.

if you mine at viabtc.com

you will need to give a phone number and an email

along with sign up for an account

if you choose to  do that do it with my referral link

Referral Code: 253724

https://www.viabtc.com/signup?refer=253724

I get a piece of your fees your fees do not increase they stay the same.

BTW in no way do I complain about lack of referral but no one has ever signed up and done a referral in the 5 years I have mentioned this on various threads.
I find it to be a bit sad. That no one not a single person ever did it.

Many years ago like 2013 a few people signed up with my link for another mining company I made about 100 or 200 worth of coin from 2013 to 2015.

I have started a few hundred people in mining with these alt coin threads and not one person ever did a referral.

Would be fun to see at least one or two that did it.
