Representatives from Portugal and representatives from the Netherlands, had to settle for a draw. I don't mean to belittle, but I see these two teams as not very favorites for the Champions League title race. The reason is that their team is still far behind compared to representatives from other State Leagues. I predict that these two teams will only last until the top 8.

Juve and Ajax missed 3 points, Chelsea winning isn't a surprise and ATM wasn't able to keep its advantage in its stadium today...

Manchester United ere showing more solidity in the champions league as it still their last thing to play for, its treu that its very hard for them to get the title but why not qualifying to the quarter or semi final and did some great matches, i think this will be very motivating for the team and their new trainer

At least I'm quite happy about the result of the Benfica v Ajax match, previously I predicted that this match would have a lot of goals at least over 2.5 goals and it happened. Because the other match for the match between Atletico v Manchester United was even though it was a draw but still it was just a low score just like any other match, so far in the round of 16 the average match has only produced low goals which means they are still very careful not to made a lot of mistakes. It will be interesting to look forward to in the second leg, whether they will play more openly or will they persist by maintaining the advantage that has been obtained for the teams that have won in the first leg.

Man united got lucky today they performed really badly atletico team was much better especially on the first half they scored early and they could've added more goals in the second half man united played a little better and they managed to equalize, the second leg will be difficult its tough to predict who will get through.

Yep, the new regulation related to the away goal is implemented. There is nos special away goal anymore.

Well, Ajax had a pretty easy group stage, if we can say like that for Sporting, Besiktas, and Borussia, so they won all games! I guess we can even say that Ajax and Benfica were lucky to meet now, better than to play against some better teams! So one of these two teams will last until the top 8, and in the top 8 one of these two teams will face some very strong team, we will see are they capable of doing something more. I like how Ajax is playing this season, and I would like to see more from them, probably they will be underdogs but I will support them for sure!

Manchester united are indeed very lucky to secure draw yesterday, because there performance is not good enough compare to that of Atlatico Madrid. Yesterday I was telling someone that Manchester united will suffer in the hands of the Spanish team, as they are away from home and they are not in good form. I predicted the match draw, so I wasn't surprised with the outcome of the match, in fact Manchester united need to be extremely careful not to loose against Atlatico in Old Trafford.

Well truly undeserved draw for the Manchester if the 1-0 was a good result to Manchester imagine this 1-1. Two woodwork for the Atletico one in the first half and one after Manchester goal.

Manchester United must have been happy with the draw. They played this match in Spain and the red devils have the power to take the rematch. In my opinion, this result is considered a good result. Honestly, after yesterday's Benfica-Ajax game, I don't see Ajax making as many surprises as many expect.
Ajax, especially in the second half, did not manage to create great dangers for Benfica. Benfica, despite going through a bad moment at the time, in the second half managed to completely dominate the match, ending up tying the game and having, like, several opportunities to win the match.

I think it will come back ones the world has been declared free of the COVID-19 pandemic and travel ban has been lifted all over. Last year because of some restrictions in some  countries, matches weren't played at home so the away goal rules wasn't making any sense. There was no crowd also and no home advantage so it was kind of pointless still having that rule. I understand your frustrations as it isn't making sense either to other football lover, the away goal rules had its own energy that it bring to the game.

I'm among those that would love to see that back in the champions league. Manchester united were lucky yesterday, allowing that late equalizer was the worst mistake of Atletico Madrid as United are at more advantage now. Even Manchester United were in good touch but still manage to have only drawn which is also acceptable for them as now they are going to play second league at home which is surely going to have some good advantages for them because recently they are performing good and now with this draw they have bigger chance for qualifying into next round.

Too much talk about their form and consistency but in last few matches now they are giving some better results and their better results now bring them to fourth spot in English League and if they were able to win second league then surely it's going to be big booster for them and very positive impact on manager and players for giving better results in next matches.

Watched on highlight I see Ajax Amsterdam have more dominance against with Benfica last night although match draw 2-2 I think have good result for Ajax and become capital for second leg to make it easy pass to quarter final. I thought Ajax would win this match. They have performed well enough. All in all it was an enjoyable match. Both teams have attacked a lot. Benfica's players made more shots but their attacks were erratic. Ajax, on the other hand, made a total of 11 shots, of which 8 were on target. However, I believe Ajax will win the home match even if they share the points in the away match.

They really got very lucky. They were just lucky to come back with draw, the team was very poor, Paul Pogba was lost, one game next you will not see him again. This style of play Manchester United is playing these days against big teams is so very frustrating. They Need to change that mentality and need high energy and fight every ball. Manchester united flipped the table against Atletico Madrid on that second half, they needed to understand their pattern and strength. At least they showed some fight in the second half, hopefully they can do that from the off in the second leg. They definitely need a new game plan at Old Trafford to be able to progress to the next round.
