Liverpool winning that game was expected and 2 goals advantage is a good thing to play comfortably without much pressure at the opposite of Villarreal.
Liverpool playing the final game is almost sure. Their rival will be whether City, most likely, or Real Madrid. Well both teams are good and the final match will be unpredictable. For the moment, Liverpool seems to be the fittest team and the dangerous one. Personally I prefer to see City lifting the title.

There is no doubt today Liverpool done good job against very good Villarreal because there were few things that after beating Bayern Munich now they are in good touch and can give very tough time to Liverpool, but they play good and having 2 - 0 lead is good for them with now next match is at Villarreal home, so they can manage in good way.

With first semifinal now after result of 4 - 3 I am feeling here Real Madrid is having good edge because they can hold Manchester City at home, and we can watch Grand Finale between two very aggressive and darling teams of Champions League but still it's all just prediction because we have to wait for final result until second round of semi final between these two teams.

I noticed that liverpool had a hard time breaking through the villarreal defense, even if there was no own goal from estupinan, the final score would be 1-0.
 Villareal's 'shot on goal' is 0 and it reminds me of Atletico Madrid against Man City ^{(a few weeks ago)} lol.

unfortunately, Liverpool made a stronger attack. Villarreal's defense was no longer focused and lost 2 goals in the second half after successfully defending in the first half.

I think luck is hard come by for Villarreal in the second leg, because Liverpool's quality is much stronger than Villarreal. The pressure in the second leg is on Villarreal side, even though they are playing at home it will be difficult to find 3 goals from Liverpool.

The consequence of pressing high in defense is that defenders make mistakes that lead to goals. In this match the first goal was a one of a kind defensive error which put Liverpool 1 goal ahead, but only a few minutes later the second goal was scored again which put Liverpool 2 goals ahead.

The second leg is a very tough homework for Villareal even though the 2 goal deficit is not the highest. I don't think they can win the second leg even playing at home, so Liverpool will still be ahead with their quality in Spain even if Villareal can score at home.

Agree. 2 goals in the first Leg makes too difficult for Villareal to come back from the lose in Leg 2. I also think Liverpool is already qualified for the UCL Final this season. Moreover, if we look at the stats, Liverpool is too superior against Villareal. We only see 1 shot attempt made by Villareal during the match, while Liverpool made 19 shot attempts. If Villareal used the same strategy in the next Leg, surely there is no hope for Villareal to eliminate Liverpool.

With 2 goals down, i think Villareal are already in Liverpool trap. All liverpool has to do in the second leg is to keep shape and control the game composure because Villareal has to score (they will attack alot) and Liverpool will get many chance to pounce and cause more damage. The result was predictable from the start and indeed with this result, Liverpool certainly now has the upper hand to advance to the final.
The second leg will mean nothing to them now because it is certain that Villarreal will still be very difficult even if they force open play.
Now it's just a matter of whether Madrid or City are more deserving of them

I knew from onset that Villarreal won't pose any threat to Liverpool at Anfield their familiar home ground where many teams can't escape defeat. Liverpool is already one leg to the UCL 2022 final, a remarkable achievement by the team chasing a quadruple trophies, they are a team to beat and currently one of the best in Europe, they had already won Carabao's Cup, they also set their eye on EPL trophy subject to any flop by Man City, they will play Chelsea next month in FA cup final and all is now set for UCL final respectively.

Villarreal did a really good job in the first half by keeping Liverpool at 0-0. But the second half was different of course. It wasn't hard to predict that Liverpool would start to play much more effective. Villarreal still tried to keep the same game plan in this half too but it didn't help them too much. Liverpool scored in the 53th and 55th minutes consecutively and got 2-0 ahead suddenly. Villarreal needed to take risks after this score I thought. But they still didn't take the risks they needed and they barely were able to keep the score at 2-0 until the end. But I already believe that Liverpool are in the finale now.

It was a simple game for the myserside club even though they find it hard to score on the first half, Villarreal seat deep too much and that's what causes the first goal, I think Liverpool would have scored more but they were going easy, watching the game you felt angry Inside seeeing villareal and not Bayern Munich, because the game was not interesting like yesterday own between Manchester City and Real Madrid.it was one sided, villareal don't seems to me as a good side.

Maybe the Manchester City - Real Madrid game was far better than today's game but I still enjoyed both of the semi final games. The Manchester City - Real Madrid game was like the best one of the recent years I believe. Nearly nobody was expecting to see a final score like 4-3 at the end. Most people might have believed that Manchester City would get a very comfortable win too after they brought the score to 2-0 in the first eleven minutes. But Real Madrid started playing very good offensively too and we had a great game there.

It's already regulated by the goal system and rules, so we don't need to argue for that because the result of the match is more important than debating the status of how the goal was scored. So it's not a problem.

I see Liverpool as the Champions League winner already because they have players or the team that are the players thar has proven to the world that they really want that the trophy and Also Manchester city too. But real Madrid are also in line to compete for the Champions League Title. The Champions League Trophy is now the survival of the first.

The match was quite tense for the audience because until the first half there were no goals. Liverpool and Villareal supporters must have had different expectations after the first half was drawn.

Liverpool fans think if the second half goes to the end of the game with no goals scored like the first 45, then their hopes of seeing their favorite team in the final are small.
It's different from Villareal supporters who hope that the final result of the match vs Liverpool so that the team they support doesn't lose, in order to open up hopes of winning when playing in the 2nd leg.
