I sincerely think Benfica were decent last night against Liverpool, they did put up a great fight. It was their first leg performance that let them down otherwise they indeed showed strength and resilience. The game exposed Liverpool flaws with their high line. Klopp will need to sort the highline in subsequent games because if they are been caught by opponents who are not being wasteful in front, Liverpool will surely pay for it. Liverpool did deserve to qualify but it is worthy to note that they might not be lucky every time especially with a strong opponent.

I love what Pep Guardiola did with the formation, he also parked the bus, if all the teams start to play like athletico in the first football will be of the most boring sport,  that first leg from ATM wasn't football no matter how you want to paint it, teams that set up that way should be made to forfeit the match and the opposing team given 3 pts and 3 goals

In this Leg 2 match, Atletico Madrid played better and very much different from what they did in this Leg 1 match.
Atlético Madrid's performance was beyond expectations, many thought they would lose again due to a bad match in the 1st leg but they did something different in this match, they played very well even though there were no goals scored.
although Atletico did not qualify for the semifinals but I appreciate their struggle and they gave a very good game in this second leg.

Atletico Madrid didnt deserve in any minut of both games to go in to the next round. They defended 170/180 minutes of both matches . They started attacking in last 10 minutes of second match and wanted to win the match,this is not how football works no matter who the opponent is you just cannot defend always and not do anything in attack. Man City deserved to win and i hope to see them honestly in the final of UCL.

10 minutes? They controlled the whole second half of football in Madrid. Tbf if athletico didn't play so defensive and you know, gamble a match, by having attacking football and spreading the pitch. Sure, they may lose and it was clear their passing capabilities are not world class level, but they would have more chance of scoring as well as playing more exciting football. Unlike Benfica, i think athletico will add to their team and not lose star players next season. Instead of being cautious, they have to let the run of of play happen, plus being in the capital of Spain it's not like they can't attract top prospects to the team. I watched the City vs Atletico game. I thought Atletico did better than that. Manchester City did Atletico a favor by beating them. btw! In this stage of the UCL, both Manchester City and Liverpool represent England, which shows you how far away they are from the other teams in England. Can they reciprocate this ? The truth is that Vilareal will score against Liverpool back 4, the question is will Klopp boys score more and succeed where Bayern failed? Time will tell

The ManCity vs Real Madrid tie will be a test of experience and guts, Will Ancelotti flop his tactics or get the edge ? We will find out.

I've said before that Liverpool won't win even if they play at home, because that seems to be the hallmark of Liverpool. If Liverpool have won in the first leg then in the second leg it is very rare for Liverpool to win, because usually they only get a draw or lose by one goal difference. Now, it happened again and even in the superbru tournament that I participated in, I placed a draw with the score 1-1 and the result was the result because the final result of this match was 3-3. So yeah, I personally can't say that Benfica can play well or not, because it can also be said that Liverpool are no longer aiming for victory so the leniency and small mistakes made by Liverpool players will be very vulnerable to being converted into a goal by Benfica.

Villarreal is playing so far better than what they play regular. I'm thinking so they have big ambition and they can end the Champion league with a good standing. It is football and any opponent can beat another. Finally, where there is only 4 teams are remaining.

The last time Villarreal faced Liverpool in Europa League, it was a flawless win without much stress. They aren't match for Liverpool but you know it is semi-final, they wouldn't go down without a proper fight in the match.

Benfica really surprised with their brazenness away against Liverpool! Probably no one has played Liverpool like that before this season. Only Milan managed to score 2 goals against Liverpool, so we could say that Benfica set a record by scoring three goals. It will be interesting to see how Liverpool play Villarreal.

Manchester City made it to the semi finals after having a really boring game. Atletico Madrid were so unable to show a solid performance against them and Manchester City didn't have big problems most of the time. And I will be favouring Real Madrid to advance in this as I would really like to see Benzema having the prize of his huge effort.

It is true that Atletico Madrid had a different playing strategy compared to the first leg, but they have still remained focused on defense and counter-attack despite having seen them take advantage of their chances to build on the attack at times.

Overall I don't think Atletico Madrid has changed at all like the first leg because they only attack when Manchester City lose the ball. They counter-attacked quickly without wanting to linger with possession, but unfortunately they failed to score despite seeing them have chances several times. So I applaud their defensive system which was difficult to break in the 2 legs of the quarter-finals, but I don't like some players being rude when frustrated not scoring goals.

Now a tough task awaits Manchester City because Real Madrid is a very tough opponent so far when Benzema plays, but I hope Manchester City can qualify for the final.

Actually Atletico Madrid started to attach from the 2nd half and they tried to score at least a goal. I didn't expect such gameplay from Manchester City as they're a strong team. They didn't play well and didn't able to shoot on target.

Atletico Madrid is not a weak team despite their poor performances for some week now.  This time around they might have well prepared to play against Manchester City, that was why Manchester city find it difficult to score. Now I see why bookmakers gave the odds for the Real Madrid - Chelsea match like that.    I was giving zero chance for Chelsea to win this game honestly and they proved me really wrong. After seeing their lead by 3-0, I was really shocked. But thankfully, Real Madrid managed to make a comeback on aggregate and eliminate them as a result. I really wanted this Real Madrid to advance to next round honestly. Because they really deserved it and actually even Benzema by himself deserved it.

It's very possible if the next opponent of madrid is a team from Laliga then we can confirm Madrid will go to the final

It's hard to predict the match between Madrid and Manchester City, but when I check the odds, Manchester City is the favorite to win the first leg at odds of 1.52 - 4.40 - 5.80. For some reason Real Madrid are not seeded in the first leg of the semi-final, I think playing at home doesn't make Manchester City really able to win the game and Madrid are really a strong team this season.

I think the Liverpool v Manchester City final is the ideal final although Madrid also have a chance.

Atlético played as everyone predicted, but still City's advantage in the first game played its role.
