One question is getting around in my head - Will we see Starc in any of the matches in this Ashes?

Its a biggie Australian bowlers didn't perform poorly in the last game per se. They only failed to get 10th wicket which cost the match, so I think Starc likely to sit out for next game too.

In sports, luck plays a big role and I think this year we are seeing luck is favoring too much for England and it's Stokes always playing monster innings. So, if luck combined with Stokes miraculous innings continue then may be we will see England is going to regain the Ashes or the job is too hard.

ICC elite umpiring panel turning out to be a joke these days, I understand that there is always a chance of Human error in Umpiring but what Joel Wilson did in the last moments, ( LBW) was a sitter! one doesn't need to be elite umpire to figure that out. Call it pressure, bias, or error. But it was a shitty decision indeed.

That Ben Stokes batting performance was something special, wasn’t it. He was amazing in the World acup too, what a player. Two tests left in the Ashes now & it really is up for grabs.

No doubt one of the best all rounders at this point if to be considered Ben strokes name shoudl deifnately has to appear. World cup innings was something out of imagination considering the pressure was totally on him as he could only help England win the first ever world cup from their. He also had a past where on his bowling four sixes were hit and Engalnd lost the cup.

^ Not sure if it's about giving youngsters a chance. Starc and Siddle almost belong to the Same batch, and Hazlewood also used to play under Micheal Clark's captaincy, so he's not young gun anymore. James Pattinson played less cricket, but he also debut in test cricket around 2011-2012.

Now Stokes could be remembered for very long time in cricket history for his two best innings even one is controversial but still he achieved his target for his team and country one of best fighters in recent time
About umpiring its really poor even using technology and now many old legend cricketers also talking about this but I am sure ICC is not going to do any thing as its their best weapon.

I believe that Strac needs to come into the Australian team for the fourth test match. Lets be honest James Pattinson hasn't really done much with the ball and to say that they want to give the younger bowlers a go is false as James Pattinson is 29 years old and is the same age as Strac so there must be something more to it for leaving Strac out of the three test matches so far but this next test he needs to play as he could be the man to help build Australia's confidence as right now it is shot after that loss.

I am still of the opinion that Australia is going to win the Ashes. Apart from Stokes, none of the English batsmen are in form. And I hope Australia would select Mitchell Starc over James Pattinson, and this will prevent the English lower order adding crucial runs, as happened with the first three matches of the series. Also, they should think about replacing Nathan Lyon as the primary spinner. He was quite ineffective during the second and the third matches and conceded a lot of runs against the lower order batsmen.

I doubt they will do anything about this since these idiots don't bother listening to fan criticism majority of the time. The pressure is building though and they might have to do something soon.

Actually, I'm not blaming Ben Stokes or giving him less credit for both the innings. However, what bothers me ain't the bad decisions of the umpires, it's just that I feel when the umpires are making decisions in England, they try to make them in favor of the English team. You see, the World Cup match as well as this Ashes match, both were played in England. Moreover, the last lbw in the Ashes match was quite clear, and England even had a review left (for which they could've gone if they felt that the decision was wrong), so why the hell didn't the umpire make a decision in the favor of Aussies, the team that had no review left at all?

You have my support. Stokes did play few good innings (precisely two good innings) but this does not make him the greatest of all time. That's BS and over hyped.

I will not agree when you say that Sokes had nothing to do with it. At least during the first incident during the world cup finals. Stokes was pushing his bat forward and it deflected the ball and he got 4 additional runs. If he was a real gentleman, then he should have asked the umpire to deduct those 4 extra runs. I am sure that if Kane Williamson was in his place, then he would have done so. 

And I am not sure why such luck happens only for teams such as England or India. I have never seen smaller teams such as West Indies or New Zealand having such luck. IMO, the reason is simple. The umpires don't want to go against the home crowd and they award the decisions to major teams even when they are unsure about it.

It was not intentional. So there are no point to ask umpire to deduct the run or to show any other form of gentleman-ship :-)

Not sure about India but in the World cup it was fairly clear that most of the time the wrong decisions were favoring England.

Not much with India TBH, it was another way around till 2009-10 (Home-away both). There are countless incidents of bad umpiring. Start with Steve Bucknor- Sachin's dismissals. If it was not for Bucknor, then Sachin could have been made at least 5-10 more centuries or match-winning knocks in World cricket.

I can remember a handful of decision ( One actually) in recent time, which helped India and arguably changed the Game scenario to some extent. 2015 world cup quarter-final against the Bangladesh where Rohit Sharma saved by no-ball and he scored 130ish runs, but it's not even a good example because it turns out to be a one-sided match at the end where Bangladesh lost by 109 runs.

And if you really want to dig some Spicy content then look at India vs Australia 2008 series. Umpiring was pure Gold for both sides

Isn't it the series in Australia? India then refused to play the next test or something if they do not change the umpires and they had to change them. This was an embarrassment for World cricket.
