Looks like the Bangladesh tour is in doubt because the players are on strike and have decided to not take part in any cricketing activities unless the 11-point demand made to the cricket board is met. One of the main requests is the resignation of the current president and the secretary of the CWAB, and I don't think that'll be met soon.

Maybe Little Mouse could throw some light on the issue, but he has been inactive for a week.

Edit: I believe that a test series has a minimum of 2 test matches and I don't think 1 test match will be a series

That's because only 4 test series (480 points) have completed as of now. Of which, India has completed 2 test series and won all the matches while others have played 2 test series with losses (SL vs NZ and ENG vs AUS). Once every team completes 6 series each, this will change But 240 points is a good lead.

This is really nice observation and yes India at current time is playing the best game of cricket as compared to other teams. Though it is at very early stage so in coming time we would see many other teams also picking up the score and moving ahead on the chart.

It is very unlikely to be honest considering the form Bangladesh are going through but atleast right now I have to say they are better than South Africa at this point.

They lack some consistent batting talent while on other hand their bowlers also won't be troubling our batsman a lot with the form they are in. I wonder if Vihari's gonna come again at one point. He played 1 Test in the series right? Rest Aggarwal stole it with his performance.

As far as I know one match will not be counted towards the point of World Test Championship. At least, 2 matches series is required to be counted for the tournament.
India is a far better team than almost all the teams right now, probably will be leading till the end of the championship. However, it's a long time tournament and can happen anything.

Unless there are injures no one is able to beat India as they have proved that, India always performed very well in India but if they could perform the same in the New Zealand series next year then it would be great as India never performed that well in New Zealand in the past, the next series is against Bangladesh and they are touring India as i expect it to be another white wash because of the way Afghanistan defeated them last month. The next two years no will be pose a serious challenge to India.

My bad, yeah its 2 match series... about protest from Bangladesh players, they are right on this and they should not bend the Knee. without satisfactory payment how are players supposed to sustain their lives, considering the fact that Cricketers career is very short and their demand is genuine.

Guess Indian are going to follow 5 bowler combination for home series but everything depends on pitches and opponents too. We might see some changes during England and Australia visit this year or next year ( don't remember the exact timeline)

The players striking against their cricket board is not a good idea as the governing body can replace all the players and play a new team, in the past there were fights like these and if the board is adamant they will simply replace these contract players and find some other players to represent the country, no idea why there is a strike as i am seeing this for the first time and when is the Indian tour scheduled.

You don't add Sir before his name for nothing. He is not a normal player. He has delivered everytime when India needed him. He is one of the finest all rounder India has.

BTW interesting to see Smith's stats. The flop show of Australian top order dropped some duties on Smith's shoulder and he boy-o-boy he delivered it so well and helped to retain the Ashes.

The teams which have politics and problems within the team, they cannot come up, no matter how good the players you have.
When you cannot sort out your internal problems, how can you compete with external teams.

I agree. There are some who think he is just a bits and pieces player, but they probably get laughed on everytime he helps India in all departments(Batting, bowling and fielding). A legendary all rounder in my opinion.

It is not like India is invincible. Outside the sub-continent, they depend a lot on Virat Kohli. The other batsmen perform really well in Indian pitches, but they become paper tigers abroad. The same can be said about the bowler as well. Apart from Jasprit Bumrah, none of the Indian bowlers have the ability to perform abroad in a consistent manner. Spinners such as Ravichandran Ashwin are useless outside the subcontinent. If they want to become the world champions, then they need to perform on all types of surfaces.

Right now, they do seem invincible. They achieved the top rank in test match Cricket by performing well on Indian pitches as well as foreign pitches(Example: India-Oz series). They are already world champions at the moment.

Jadeja is an exceptional talent as he delivers with the ball and bat and he is the finest fielders in the world and he is a complete package.

Smith's performance won the Ashes for Australia and the only match he was rested because of that bouncer Australia lost the match, there was an incredible performance from England but they lost the match in the absence of Smith.

Bangladesh tour is next month if i am not wrong and by that time i expect Bumrah to regain his fitness, tough battles ahead for any visitors.

Very interesting. 3 Indian batsman are in the top of the list. Have you noticed the average of Rohit Sharma? He will certainly lead the list soon. Steve is in the competition though. He was outstanding on Ashes.

Ravindra Jadeja has three triple centuries in Ranji Trophy matches and he is the only batsman to score three triple centuries in Ranji and it is not a small feat considering the fact tht we had many legendary batsman and no one made those big runs and when he came initially in the Test squad i was wondering why he is not focusing on his batting and now he is changing his approach to batting and it is seen with the performances he had in the past few years.

Kohli is giving importance to Jadeja as a batsman and hence he was promoted in the batting order in this series, i hope he will continue to perform as usual with the ball, last time we saw how the career of Irfan Pathan was ended when he focused on batting and his bowling started to decline, i hope he could manage both and be the best allrounder for India.

I think currently there is the best pace attack that India has ever had in history of Indian cricket. Indian pacers are performing formidably under almost every condition around the world and against every type of batsmen. There was a time when Indian was known merely for their batting attack but I think now the bowling attack too is considered equally efficient especially due to the best bowlers like Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar and Shami.
