Since Sri Lanka had a good start, we can assume that Sri Lanka may either win this match or if New Zealand shows the same strength in batting, then maybe we see a close match that results in a draw. The chances for New Zealand to win seem low. Considering all these factors, I have placed a bet on Sri Lanka in this match. I got only 1.07 odds for this but still i think this is a safe bet and therefore acceptable.

Sri Lanka is completely favourite in this match. I'm not expecting New Zealand to bat in the same way. Sri Lanka will have a good advantage if they can score 550+ runs in the first innings. The chance is indeed low for New Zealand to win the match. The match will end as a draw if New Zealand can bat with the same energy. I would bet on Sri Lanka on 1x2 market, the odds is 1.37x for them on this market.

As Sri Lanka will perform well at their own venue it is only natural that the spinners in particular bowl well at this venue as always. New Zealand's bowlers have failed miserably except for one run out and the remaining two wickets have fallen, so it can be said that New Zealand has completely failed in bowling action. If New Zealand wants to draw the match, then like Sri Lanka, they must have a good batting performance or else they will be defeated, it can be said for sure.

First opener batsman did not perform good and he lost wicket for 1 runs. Dimuth showed some good effort and grab 46 runs in 109 balls and other batsman made a brilliant century and his name was Dinesh unfortunately he lost his wicket but he made 146 runs helped a lot team to lead such big runs. The sample size is small but Kamindu Mendis looks like a real deal. In his 6-7 match test career he already got some big numbers under his belt.

-1 50 in Australia (only 1 inning)

He scored all these runs in an away series and Virtually no one hyping and talking about him much. In comparison to PIG-3 players, the likes of Marnus, Brook and Jaiswal got a shitload amount of hype when they scored runs.

PS: To be fair to Jaiswal, it was balanced and more like a "hope" because in India you are considered good if you perform in SENA.

Test cricket seems too easy for Kamindu. 4 5 test tons in just 8 matches and scored 50 in every match ( the first batsman to do that in the history of test cricket).

BCB is richer than NZC? I am not sure about that. But apart from this, there are a few points that I would consider:

1. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka doesn't even have a decent 4-day domestic competition. They have a Club-based structure, that focuses heavily on the cities of Dhaka and Colombo respectively. On the other hand, New Zealand 4-day competition is around for more than a century and is well renowned for its quality.

2. Stats can be misleading. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka may look better than they are in reality. They prepare dust bowls against SENA nations and thereby win matches. Pakistan rarely uses this strategy.

3. In case of Pakistan, there is a region-based 4-day domestic competition. But PCB management changes every 2-3 years and this results in changes to the format and thereby instability.

Is Sri Lanka better than Pakistan? It is debatable. But overall, given level playing field (i.e no home advantage, no injuries to major players, matches organized by neutral boards.etc), I would say that Pakistan is far better.

Back in 2019-20, I remember reading their annual reports and found out that BCB had more assets and they were more competent in generating profits when compared to NZC, I'll come back to that again.

1. There is no comparison between SL-BAN-PAK and NZ or any SENA when it comes to domestic setup. Anglosphere is miles ahead.

2. When i said Bangladesh's stocks are in an uptrend, I meant after the Pakistan series. They still have a mountain to climb but SL are ahead of Pakistan in test cricket, I believe 4-5 years of data is more than enough to judge any team's trajectory. It's not some individual number but results of 4-5 years, I don't think the "Stat can be misleading" argument holds any weight in such case.

We should collectively jog our memory and remind ourselves, what kind of pitches PCB served to Australia and England. Pindi's pitch got demerit points in both series because the deck was dead. Did you forget what Rambo said? He defended these pitches and said we wanted to nullify opposition seamers. If they had spinners then one could hope for a spin deck but that wasn't the case either.

The first day's play in the second Test match between Bangladesh and India is over for now, with Bangladesh amassing 107 runs for 3 wickets at the end of the first day's play. The start of today's match was hampered by rain, but when Bangladesh batted first, they lost two wickets for 29 runs and came under pressure. In the ninth over of the morning session, Zakir Hasan got out during the team's 26 runs and he was out for 0 runs after playing 24 balls, which was a very bad batting. I think Bangladesh team is going to lose this match too because they are not consistent and they lack reliable batsmen whereas Indian team has many talented players.

So as a Bangladeshi Bangladeshi supporter I never expect Bangladesh to do well in Tests. I have seen many games of Bangladesh from which Bangladesh do not take any lessons but they are playing exactly the same cricket ten years ago as they played ten years ago.  There has been no improvement in Bangladesh cricket and there will be no improvement.

Surprisingly, he played 24 balls without scoring any runs.

I was talking in general. I wouldn't say I liked how Shanto came up and started to play shots. It's like he is playing ODI cricket. You should know that you are facing a world-class bowler here. The batters should be more patient when they play test cricket. BTW, I see when you want to criticize a team, you write gibberish. Your criticism should be constructive and have some points.

I thought Sri Lanka would declare around 500 at the end of 2nd day but they made an impressive 600 and were able to take two wickets on New Zealand that too in the second day.  Now they'd work to take the remaining wickets of New Zealand as soon as possible. If New Zealand lost all of it in a low score, they'll be forced to bat again which would insure an easy win for Sri Lanka.

On the second test of Bangladesh vs India, Bangladesh had started well, But the rain might make the game shorter taking it to a draw. The weather is not going to improve tomorrow either.
