Big example of mismanagement and miscommunication between UP Cricket Association and Afghans.

BCCI offered 3 locations to the Afghan cricket board (Kanpur, Greater Noida and Bangalore) and Afghans opted for GN because of logistics and fans but in doing so they didn't communicate with the UPCA . Greater Noida's stadium is privately owned, rain did some damage but for some reason stadium was in bad shape and the outfield was an embarrassment.

This could've been avoided if ACB or UPCA had a communication channel. One reporter even mentioned that ACB didn't pick up calls from UPCA.

Thanks for posting this. Now there is more clarity on what happened. Now if this is what happened, then I don't think that Afghans have any right to complain about play not happening in the initial two days. On the other hand, it should be the Kiwis who should complain. Anyway, scheduling test matches at this time (when it is rainy season here in India) was a stupid step anyways. If the calendar was not available for other slots, then they should have moved the matches to somewhere else.

Looked more into it and it seems like, their preferred location was Ekna Stadium or Dehradun but BCCI rejected it because of ongoing local tournaments.

I won't blame a single party here because BCCI was also clueless about the poor condition of the stadium, they should've known better or at least consulted with the UPCA, feels like casual approach which is surprising from BCCI as this whole situation turned into a big mess.

That was not an easy task for Sri Lankan team to win against top class team of the World.  Sri Lankan team understood their mistakes in last matches and they tried to learn from their mistakes and the result of that is in front of us.  Sri Lankan team need more improvement because they lose the series by 2-1 , that is collectively bad performance. They did excellent in second inning of last match because in the first inning,they were far behind but in the second inning bowlers did excellent bowling in this match and England team could not give good target abc after that Sri Lankan team came in the ground and we saw good partnership between players and due to which they won the match easily by 8 wickets.

As Sri Lankan team's performance is not consistent. They seem to me to be known as an unpredictable team. After losing two consecutive Tests against England, they were almost certain to lose the third match but it was difficult to predict that their performance would change so much at the end of the Test. In the end both the Sri Lankan bowlers and batsmen were on the field hoping to keep good combination. Inspired by their victory Sri Lankan team will surely do well in Test cricket against any team in the future. After losing 2 out of 3 Test matches, they finally bounced back. It was necessary that they got the victory by correcting their mistakes. As England won the series in the match but Sri Lanka did well to their target to the end.

In the 1st inngins both team did very decent amount of runs where South Africa A team scored 372-10 runs, Matthew Breetzke(129) did his century, Marques Ackerman(69) also played well and Eshan Malinga got 4 wickets. Besides Sri Lanka A Scored 323-10 runs, Oshada Fernando (121) did his century, Beyers Swanepoel got 4 wickets. Match was going fine but in the 2nd inngins, unfortunately South Africa A lost all of their wickets within 124-10 runs, Isitha Wijesundera is the main game changer who destroyed them by taking 7 wickets lol. That's why Sri Lanka A team started batting again and easily surpassed the Targeted runs and won the match. Congrats Sri Lanka A  team for archive the victory and having such skillful bowler like Isitha Wijesundera.

This is the sort of importance being given to test cricket by full member nations. And that is why I am in favor of scrapping the ICC World Test Championship. A lot of time and resources are being wasted in scheduling matches which hardly anyone is interested in. Ideally, test cricket should be played only by the top 6 teams (pig-3 + New Zealand + Pakistan + South Africa). The other teams are not capable of playing this format with sufficient quality. And they are not even interested in playing it, as evident from the ongoing drama at the Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground.

Very Sad feeling for the players of Afghanistan and New Zealand player because the third match day three is also abounded without toss because the gorund conditions are not good, I am surprised that India has more than 50 plus stadiums and why did they choose Greater Noida Sports stadium which does not have the facilities even for club level matches. The ground staff were drying the pitch with the help of a fans which is a shame for the Indian board.I don't think this ground has international level facilities. New Zealand and Afghanistan players deserve better ground and I think the next match should be moved to a better ground.

In this I expected Sri Lanka to win and that's what happened in this match.  If you look, both the teams have played well in one innings and performed poorly in one.  South African batsmen have scored 372 runs in the first innings which could not be completed by the Sri Lankan batsmen.  And in the second innings, South Africa scored 124 runs and Sri Lankan batsmen scored 174.  And it has won Sri Lanka.  If the South African batsmen had played like the first innings, they could have won this match.  But due to the pressure on their batsmen and not playing well, the target could not become difficult and they will lose the first match.  Not so good performance from Sri Lanka.  But the bowlers on both sides have played very well, they have stopped runs on both sides and have also taken wickets.  Had South Africa's target been higher in the second innings, their bowlers could have worked harder and put Sri Lanka under pressure.  But luck did not support them and they lost the match.

We have three days of no play in this test match and even if there is play possible on the last two days of the match, it will most probably end in a draw. This is no doubt a disappointment for both teams and also for the audience who wanted to see the live action. This match venue is Greater Noida however i came to know that Afghanistan Cricket Board were also told to select Kanpur or Bengaluru as the match venue, but they insisted on Greater Noida and out field on this ground takes longer to dry because it is not based on the soil. So all these factors are not in favor of the play to commence soon.

From 19th September, India vs Bangladesh test series is going to start. By the way, I think dropping Muhammad Shami is not a good idea. BCCI dropped Muhammad Shami and in his place, we will see Sarfraz while playing for India.

Ravichandran Ashwin is a very good option to go with him. He is the test matches bully, he has amazing records in test series and is always selected by the Indian team for the test series not for T20 or ODI, just test matches. Still, I think from somehow they must have to make the place of the Muhammad Shami in the squad because he is a very experienced player and always pick wickets, good option for the test matches and one day matches, though not be a good choice for T20.

I did not see this whole match just look score dashboard after fully finished this match both these squad faced each other in different previous format competition like ODI. In this competition, Sri Lanka A squad gave a good response in ODI and in end of competition, their squad won the competition with leading two victories. Again in test format competition, Sri Lanka A squad defeated South Africa A squad in first match by huge difference. Both squads have almost same performance in their first innings, South Africa A managed 372 scores and Sri Lanka A sqaud has managed 323 scores just few scores difference among squads. South Africa A squad led this match with high scores and their performance was also good than Sril Lanka A squad. But I don't know why their members displayed very disappointing performance in second inning their squad just managed 124 scores with lost of all batters. Sri Lanka A took great advantage to this opportunity and emerged easy victory by achieving all scores and showcased fantastic strength in bowling inning.

Yeh it's really disappointed moments for Afghani fans because after a very long time Afghanistan got an opportunity to play a test matches series against a top team like new Zealand but unfortunately all goes in vain because rain interference didn't even stop at third day of the match or may be the wet track restrict authorities to allow team to get into the stadium. Anyway according to some source Afghanistan management were not happy with that things but let be honest despite knowing the weather conditions they still choose such stadium so there is no way to blame BCCI or any stadium staff they can change venue but they didn't so they are responsible of such damage. Hope that first match will be announced draw and hope so there will be decent preparation for second test match at different venue.

I did not agree with you. You can't compare Pakistani International team performance with the performance of Indian cricket team. Indian International cricket team is more strong than Pakistani test team. Indians domestic cricket is very best and they are paying best to the players and no county pay more than India. Indian team team will win next series because all teams are fail against Indian team because Indian team is super power in cricket and no team could be equal to India .

In India,there is more competition than in the Pakistan and Indian team is most favorite team of the World. We know Bangladeshi International test cricket team played well in last series but opponent team is very strong against Bangladeshi team and we will see best performance from Indian team.
