The reason that is viral recently is that Shaheen Shah Afridi misbehaved with Shan Masood in front of the crowd and the umpires that is why Shan Masood may not give him chance to play. It is the personal matter between Shaheen and Shan Masood that could be the reason. I am research on this as well and internal matters within the Pakistan team not looking good. However, still it is not confirmed whether Shaheen plays tomorrow or not.

Not sure if that is the case because Shaheen's PR and lobby within PCB are stronger than Shan's. My bet would be on resting because of the pitch and one can also mix it with performance as well (Still he's a big name, at least in Pak.

Bangladesh team head coach Hathurisingh is very confident in this second test match, Bangladesh team won the first test match by 10 wickets. So, if the Bangladesh team can perform batting very seriously and confidently in this second test match, then it is definitely possible to win the second match as well. This unexpected news has been taken storm by the social media and there are many rumours floating in the market. Some says that Shaheen has been given rest to spend time with his family as he become the father of a baby boy last week. Some syas that he needs time to work on his bowling and come back strong. I don't agree with these lame excuses and believe that there is some huge politics going on within the team that forced such decisions.

I have mentioned India and Australia in my previous post because in the Tests played in the last few years, England have given tough competition to India as well as Australia. If you look at the Ashes series, Australia wins one match and England wins the other. Nothing like that happened in the Ashes series where Australia won all the matches single-handedly.  

In Red ball, Home (Easy) and Away (Hard) tour paints a complete picture, sometimes context also matters (like toss, who's available or not etc). Don't let BAZBALL fool you. Against India and Australia Yes, they've improved under the new coach and skipper but only in vibes.

They barely manage to draw the last Ashes and that too at home after winning 4 toss. Similarly IND vs ENG series also saw a draw and the main reason wasn't performance but IPL Schedule, mismanagement and random one-off test, just to conclude the series and it ended up 2-2. India was leading 2-1.

That was their home record in the last 2-3 years against IND/AUS and as far as their away tour goes these are the numbers of their last 3 tours.

The Rain interrupted the first day of play, and the weather conditions in Rawlpandi are not good. Rain continues falling and I don't think play will resume today. Pakistan team announced their playing XI and made two changes Abrar Ahmad and Mir Hamza replaced Shaheen Shah Afridi in a second test match against Bangladesh. I Think Pakistan make a good change If Mir Hamza is performing well in this test match. he will indeed be a strong option in Test matches. Abrar Ahmad is also a good spin bowler who can turn the match position at any time. Atkinson's batting looks like it's an ODI format match. He returned to the dressing room with 118 runs from 115 balls. Joe Root scored 143 runs. Sri Lankan bowler Asitha Fernando bowled the best in this match. He managed to pick up 5 wickets in 24 overs. Asitha Fernando took three important wickets of Atkinson, Brook and Pope.

Sri Lanka's batting order is not weak, but the performance of the players is erratic. It is very difficult to predict which matches Sri Lankan batsmen will bat well and collect big. Atkinson batted very aggressively on day two. His aim was to score 400+, not to stay at the crease for long. He did so because England did not want to draw the match. They want to win. This is why England batted at a decent strike rate on the second day. If Atkinson had batted carefully, England would probably have been able to muster up to 450.



I doubt Sri Lanka will be able to score even 200 runs. Sri Lanka is losing wickets very fast. They lost 5 experienced batsmen to collect only 83 runs. Dhananjaya de Silva failed to score any runs. Mathews was dismissed for 22 runs. The two openers managed to collect only 7 runs. Now there are only Mendis and Chandimal as experienced batsmen at the crease. If these two wickets are lost, Sri Lanka will lose the remaining wickets very quickly. Olly Stone and Matthew Potts picked up two wickets each. The match is completely under England's control. It is likely that the Sri Lankan team will lose all their wickets in the second session.
