I was thinking that Afghanistan will go above 300 runs and this will be a good target for England and little bit difficult to chase but Afghanistan made 284 runs. But they made this target difficult too. By their excellent bowling.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan bowled really well and got 3 3 wickets and Mujeeb Ur Rahman also the player of the match. He made 28 runs in batting too. Congratulations to Afghanistan.

Afghanistan beat the defending champions with both bat and ball to win their first World Cup match by 69 runs and they have done it against one of the tournament favourites, and the Current World Champions England. Afghanistan started well 121 runs partnership without loss of any wickets between Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran and then crumbled in the middle overs to be later supported by Mujeeb and Rashid Khan with the bat and reached Afghanistan scored 284.

Afghanistan bowling performance is also outstanding Mujeeb and Rashid bowl well and rolled through the England batting line up to give Afghanistan a massive massive victory by 69 runs. The whole stadium erupted with joy as Afghanistan felt like playing at home. At one point, it looked as if Afghanistan may make 300. But they lost some quick wickets and then ended up with a total of 284. All credit goes to Rahmanullah Gurbaz BTW. Without him, Afghanistan would have never made such a competitive total. He started by attacking Chris Woakes and Sam Curran. Both these bowlers ended up with economy rates of more than 10 runs per over. He deserved a century, but got run out as a result of a mistake from the Afghan captain, Hashmatullah Shahidi. Then it was the turn of Ikram Alikhil to get Afghanistan to a decent total.

It's Afghanistan second highest total in world cup. When Gurbaz was on the crease 300 were on the cards but after he got out wickets start falling until Ikram Alikhil came for rescue. It was similar to that of the previous match. Sri Lanka have ended its innings for 209 runs. The first wicket fell at 125, Nissanka and Perera made good partnership. Adam Zampa and Pat Cummins paved way for the bowling attack on Sri Lanka team. David Warner and Pat Cummins were really good at the fielding. Asalanka tried to score little runs from the tail end, but he could do it well. With this low score it isn't going to be hard competence for Australia to chase. As said in one of the posts, Australia will try to win the match at the earliest to improve its net runrate, because the close fight at the end of league is based on the net runrate and not much on the points.

After both of them got out, Sri Lanka's batting line-up became very poor. Wickets keep falling after 1-2 overs continuously. Apart from the opening batting pair, no one else could make a good pair. Kusal Mendis batted very well but got out for 8 runs in today's match. At the beginning, I thought Sri Lanka's batting would score 300 plus runs. But unable to hold on to the wicket, they were all out for 209 runs. Australia came back strong, with Adam Zampa single-handedly picking up 4 crucial wickets. Australia has already gone to bat and collected 15 runs in 1 over. Australia will win easily today.

Sri Lanka gave a very low target so Australia should win this match because the Australian team has the last position on the point table and this is a good opportunity to come back, I know that Australia will take advantage of this opportunity.
